TPFanControl

Hello, someone knows how to contact the developer of TPFanControl? I want to know how I can activate the verbose mode to debug what is happening...

As I change the value of the manual, I don't see any change! Currently, I have the latest version TPFC 0.62

Take a look at the legal notice (called "Legal" in German) on the site of TPFanControl for his email address:http://www.staff.uni-marburg.de/~schmitzr/tpfc.html

Another option would be to contact him via the German ThinkPad forum: https://thinkpad-forum.de/members/1313-troubadix

  • What Miss me? (overheating, fans, tpfancontrol)

    Location:

Clean the fan on (B) T60 with compressed air, but hold the blades with a screwdriver or a toothpick so that they do not rotate. You will need to remove the keyboard to do it correctly.

If temperatures improve by then, or the fan noisy rest, it's time for a replacement.

    Good luck.

  • Thermal management T500

I have a T500 with P8400 and integrated graphics. Even if the laptop is almost always cold (and besides I use Thermaltake fanless cooling pad ixsoft) fan is almost always lit (Everest indicates that, even with the kernel time about 30 C). The fan is only triggered when it is rather cold (17th century) in the room (using the profile of energy of maximum battery life).

    This behavior is ok?

What is the threshold temperature to start the fan?

How can I change the thermal management? (I tried BIOS and ThinkVantage power management)

    Hello

    Try the small program fancontrol.

    or Tpfancontrol of Troubadix.

If all goes well, it works on the latest systems of T.

  • IdeaPad Flex 2 - 14 d: constantly running at high speed of the fan: 8.1 Windows

    Hello.

    I have a Flex 2 - 14 d running Windows 8.1 Ideapad and real pilots.

The fan runs constantly at high speed.

So I have no complaint about overheating, but instead, I have to complain about is cold knees.

Y at - it a possibility to adjust the fan speed?

    Best regards

    Eleichstetten

I have Flex 2-15 and suffered from the same problem. By trial and error, I found that (although not documented) a specific version of the TPFanControl (http://www.staff.uni-marburg.de/~schmitzr/tpfc.html) does not work with my laptop. Opt for the 0.62e version. It is a cool utility, has several conditions of default security in standard BIOS procedures if something is still wrong. Temperature to the fan speed mappings are user adjustible, so you must refine your laptop (default values are designed for Edge E520, so don't not necesserily ideal).

    A HUGE relief!

  • Cooling Lenovo T520 error?

Hello everyone and today I want to tell you that I have a Lenovo T520 4240-66U

Start on my laptop reads 160 degrees. And when I start to play games or something that the processor can be using... the laptop happens to 200 degrees. MAX I saw was 215 degrees with the hard drive to a maximum of 120

I'm really worried about my computer and I think I should buy a thermal paste.

Any other suggestions I can do to fix my computer?

    Help, please!

It is still under warranty? What do you use to measure the temperature? I suggest TPFANCONTROL

  • seeds for Y400 manual fan control

Is it possible to adjust the fan speed to 100% instead of using the auto setting that comes by default? Here is no option in the bios, I tried using SpeedFan and TPFanControl but no luck. Energy management app is possible to increase the speed of the fan using the option of removal of dust, and it decreases the time cpu a bit, so I'm sure is possible to control the fan via the software, the problem is how, ideas?

    Hi Zagen,

Thanks for posting. To be honest, the speed of the fan for the idea machine are pre defined in the BIOS setting and cannot be changed to it. The Ideapad may not be as versatile as the Thinkpad line so that's why you can't Speedfan or TPF to control the fan speed so that they work better the line Lenovo Thinkpad.

    I hope this helps.

  • Should T530 - I better put the thermal grease on it?

I have 2359CTO t530. I bought it as refurb Lenovo more that year pass, is no longer under warranty. There 3740QM I7, NVIDIA graphics card NVS 5400 M, 16G of ram and 480G mSATA as main HD (I upgraded RAM and HD. When I run TPFC.63 7 manual setting, temperature is usually less than 60 ° C, but it sometimes jumps in smart setting and the temperature rises.

It has full HD screen and I've usually run in Lenovo platform 3 with 2 external displays, a 1920 x 1200, other 2540 x 1440.

As my old T61p with NVIDIA graphics just died (a long and 2 short beeps), I removed the system board, and there was not a lot of thermal paste on it from the factory and I learned my lesson, and I would like to avoid this on my T530.

Please advice what block you recommend, especially if you have some info on how it lowers the temperature of the T530.

    Thank you.

Personally, I use MX - 4 because it is non-conductive nature. As mentioned AS5 is also good. Does seem to be significantly better than the stock however dough.

If it's any consolation, I ran my W520 at 95 c for long periods of time, and everything still seems to work.

Enter in TPFanControl INI and set ManModeExit to something higher then it stop jumping in the smart Mode. You can also use the 64 fan speed to operate the fan at a higher level without papers.

  • [W510] crashes during use heavy CPU/GPU | possible overheating

    Hello

I have a problem with W150 6 - week old I am just unable to provide. I tried a fairly recent game to test the hardware capabilities of my new camera. However, when running this game, it crashes at irregular intervals.

    MACHINE:

    ThinkPad W510, 4389-W1B Type

    Intel i7 Q70

    nVidia Quadro FX 880 M

    4 GB OF RAM

    Windows 7 Pro 64-bit

    SETTING:

The game in question is 'Mass Effect' (2008) with graphics almost maxed out settings (720 p and maximum of details). The machine has all the latest drivers and BIOS installed.

    BEHAVIOR:

The machine is appearently under a heavy load of CPU/GPU with the fan at the highest speed. The causes of the accident the screen go blank and feeding the machine in less than a second after a short hard disk activity. The time until the machine hangs when running the game differs between 3 to 30 minutes.

    COMMENTS:

I installed the tools, namely TPFanControl and SpeedFan temperature monitoring. The CPU does not get like 80 degrees Celsius, the temperature of the GPU also doesn't exceed 80 degrees Celsius. The accident occurs only with this game of 3D acceleration. However, it is the most demanding game I posses. The question seems to be temperature related since it usually takes much more time to plant the device switching on after a long time being turned off, or in a cooler environment.

    SO FAR THE TESTS:

I have run several tests of stress on the machine, namely of Prime95 (max CPU temperature: 86), FurMark (CPU: 85, GPU: 80 c) and 3DMark. All passed without accidents (when running for about 1,5 hour maximum). I got the latest nVidia drivers installed, as well as the latest graphics drivers approved by Lenovo. I tried other games with resolution 1080 p and maxed out settings, but the accident only with "Mass Effect".

    CONCLUSION DATE:

Like many, I can tell, when you run the game, CPU or GPU become warmer than during the stress tests. Nevertheless, the problem "seems" related to temperature. The fact that I don't have to plant with any other game machine or a stress test makes me assume that Mass Effect is just wrong with Windows 7 or the material. However, to my knowledge, bad code or bad drivers do not cause such a crude system shutdown.

Well, I really don't know what o think about it. I don't want to make use of Lenovo support, unless it is really an anomaly in the system. I would need to get along without my laptop for 2 weeks, which is a long time in view of the fact that it is my primary work machine.

So my questions to the community are:

    1. is it possible that this is a temperature related problem after all? Despite the positive stress test?

2 is it possible that these accidents are caused by bad drivers or bad programs?

    Tips are greatly appreciated...

I don't think it's an overheating problem, it is more likely a software/driver problem or a hardware problem. I am inclined to think that it is the last.

The system should go in a judgment of thermal overload until less than 95 degrees. 80 degrees is on the beach of normal operation for the GPU and the CPU temperature when loading at 100% load.

Try to disable the Turbo mode, also have you tried to perform a test on the ram?

In addition, update a bios may be a good idea if you don't have it already done.

  • T61p Insta-Shutdown! :(

    Hi all

    QuickSpecs:
    I have a Lenovo T61p here type 6457.
It is the one with the Quadro FX 570 M videocard.
I installed it with Windows 7 Ultimate 32 bit and Windows XP Pro SP3 32 Bit

All latest drivers have been completely installed, DirectX 9 June .0c and the latest graphics drivers from Nvidia.

    Problem:
He sometimes everything stops without warning, just 'off' without any form of warning or sound.
I do not turn it off 'click' from the hard drive but it does whenever you turn it off normally too.
Then when I turn it on again it usually starts to windows and I can do just about everything.
Go on the internet, go through my music, using office and other... No problem at all!

    When it happens:
There are times during the boot that puts the laptop in a loop, but it ALWAYS happens when I try something that takes into account the video card.

When I run 3Dmark 06 ' it stops immediately as soon the test begins.
Also, when I try to play a DVD movie it crashes every time that the movie starts.

This looks like a videocard related question for me.

    What I tried:
All latest drivers have been installed as indicated above.
The problem that happens under XP and 7 so I'm clear enough, this is a unwanted material.
I swapped batteries and adapter, tried another (R60) disk hard 80 GB.
To make sure that is not a related problem of heat I cleaned the fan under the keyboard that has been completely cleaned and shows no sign of too hot gettings.
Tried to update to the latest version of the bios too, factory missed the bios of course.

    Publishes:
    1. tried another memory, also does not resolve this although it crashed just 30 seconds later instead of instantly.
2 TPfancontrol said less than 50 degrees Celsius for the CPU and the GPU.

    So, what can I do?
I don't have the money to get it fixed now.
    Help, please!

    Danny

  • T420 cooling fan does not after a reboot

Today, I began my TP and fan running at full speed. I rebooted and now it does not turn. TP fan control shows, no temperature sensor is active, but hwmonitor indicates the temperature of the CPU, which raises even up to 90 degrees, under load, but fan is not yet rorating.

is that what the problem of ideas?

    Remove TPFanControl and try again.

  • Monitor the temperature

Is there a utility by Lenovo that shows you in real time what temperature is the MB and other?

Lenovo does not offer such a utility, but you can try ThinkPad Fan Control:

    or Notebook Hardware Control:

  • Battery critical shut down - 50%! (T420)

My laptop (Win 7 Pro) T420 suddenly decided that 50% (and not 5%) is the critical battery level. Without warning, it will hybrinate - even as I type. I checked the power settings - battery critical level is set at 5%, Hybrinate is disabbled except battery critical, active power only the sleep switch, etc. The Lenovo battery util signals that the battery is in good condition.

Can someone tell me what could be wrong? I don't see that I've implemented anyting incorrectly, and this problem did not exist until now. Suggestions?
