Transferring images from the camera to computer

A couple of months, my computer has a virus which attacks the operating system.  I took the computer to a store of trusted computing for repair.  To eliminate the virus, technicians used a program called Combofix.

Before the virus, all I had to do was connect my camera to a USB port on the front of the computer.  I would like to hear a Ding-Dong and pop up would be a menu asking what I would do with the photos - several options.

After that the virus has been removed with Combofix, I tried to plug in the USB port of my camera and I hear the Ding-Dong, but the menu does not appear.

I tried to disconnect my scanner of it's USB port and plug the camera on this port, but I get the same results... a Ding-Dong, but no context menu.

I also have a hard drive external Buffalo for backup of photos and documents, and if I plug it into a USB port, the computer does not recognize that it is plugged.

I tried plugging my camera into my daughter's computer and there is no problem - I get the Ding-Dong sounds and the menu appears.  I resorted to uploading my photos to my daughter's computer and have their email to me.  But that's getting old... for us two.

In troubleshooting, it seems that there is nothing wrong with the USB ports, or is there something wrong with my camera or an external hard drive.  There must be something in the Windows XP program which is now off and not to recognize an external device, like the camera or external hard drive.

Tell all about how to solve this problem?

FWIW... this task is easier to do than to explain.

    (1) connect the camera via a USB cable and turn it on... or insert the memory card in
    your Media Player.

    (2) go to... Start / my computer... your camera should be attached to a drive letter.
The reader should be recognized as one or several removable disks... it can
    have several drive letters.

    Removable disk (e :))
    Removable drive (g)
    Removable disk (h :))

Left 3) click on drive letters... When you identify the drive letter for the camera or
Media Player... (it will be one that does not launch a dialog box indicating:)
Please insert a disc in the drive?) ...

    Follow these steps...

    4) navigate to the folder in which the photos are... Open it and go... Edition/select all... good
Click the group selected (highlighted), then from the menu choose... Send to /.
    Removable disk?

Only a limited number of files can be copied to the root directory of the card... if you
Transfer lots of pictures... they must be in one or more folders.

If these files have been changed in any way, rename, rotate, changing the brightness...
No matter what... the camera will recognize them is no longer, but they will always be on the map
If you want to use as a backup. You can click on the left to see what is on the drive letter
    the map.

  • How can I sync 2 sony AVCHD images from the camera on the "date" as a prelude and import it in first pro?

I have 2 sony camera popular with the AVCHD file structure. The two cameras are the same. How can I sync 2 sony AVCHD images from the camera on the "date" as a prelude and import it in first pro? Im working with 6.0

Now I see the date taken in the import screen until I click "ingest". When in the trash, this option is there, but no metadata in there. It is therefore impossible to import images from two cameras and have these sorted.

How can I get this sorted out before, so I can export for the first?

Thank you. Tom van den Dool

  • Old photos have reproduced after importation, the images from the camera

Original title: pictures were reproduced during the transfer of the camera

Hi - I clicked on import images from my camera to the computer that has been done successfully, but my old pictures exist duplicate? /?  I had checked before hand on the help page - where windows 7 stipulate that

Why I can't choose which photos or videos to import?

Windows detects your images and your most recent videos and is not a duplicate of the old photos or video versions that you have already copied to your computer, so you can import your pictures and videos in a single step. You can then view and organize your photos in the photo library. For more information on the management and organization of photos in the photo library, see Managing your photos. You can also view your images imported into the Windows Photo Viewer, where the large preview format makes it easier to decide which newly imported pictures to delete from your computer. For more information on the display of your pictures in Windows Photo Viewer, view and use your pictures in Windows Photo Viewer.

To organize your videos, you can use the videos library. For more information about managing and organizing your videos in the videos library, see Managing your videos.

    Was it useful?

If you could help with a quick method to remove all my duplicate photos I would really appreciate it.  I have nearly 400 of them

    Hello

Did you use the functionality of Windows or all third-party software to import files previously?

    Sorry to hear that.

When you import files, the same files will not be imported if the file names are the same. If you used a third-party software to import files previously, then the name of the file may be different.

You can sort files by date and then try to remove the recently added files however, you should recognize the duplicate files.

See the site for how to sort the files:

Organize, sort, or group your files

Sometimes I just need to capture images, I don't need the audio, it feels like a waste of space. IM using first Pro CC. Thank you!

Very well.  If you capture HDV I don't think you can separate the data stream.  I think you did during DV capture.

  • Problem reading video image from the camera IP Axis - confusion of variant data buffer.

    Hi there;

I am writing a VI for an Axis IP camera.  He went to work, but I need to extract individual video stream images so I can overlay text using the functions of text IMAQ overlay.

The thing is when I take a picture using the axis dll library (GetCurrentFrame), it returns a buffer size and a Variant representing the raster data.  The data is = 921 640 bytes representing a 40 byte header, and then the 640 x 480 x 3 raster data.  When I run the vi, I get a correct value for the size of the buffer (921 640) so I know it works.

What don't understand me, it's the video image is placed in a buffer of type variant.   I don't quite know how to extract the raster data of the data type of "buffer" which is a type variant.  My apologies, I'm a bit ignorant in how to handle the types of "Variant".

    Does anyone have a suggestion?

    This is the VI

    Hi Peter,.

Just to confirm, what IMAQdx version do you use?  You want to get the version 2010.3 since it is the latest version: http://joule.ni.com/nidu/cds/view/p/id/1641/lang/en

The next issue would be that the Ethernet cameras discover is not necessary and that it is only used for GigE Vision cameras. The VI was named before IP camera support has been added and the name is unfortunately confusing now. In any case, the discovery of cameras takes place in the background and is automatic. The VI list must list your camera. It may be worth trying just to see if the camera appears in first MAX. Note that the IP camera must be installed on your local subnet, so it can be discovered.

Regarding the examples, virtually none of the IMAQdx examples included in help-> find examples should work.

Trying to transfer photos from my camera in Windows Photo Gallery.  Pop - up said I couldn't because the class is not registered.  What does that mean?

    Hi John,.

-When exactly you receive this error message?

This problem occurs because a database is damaged. This database is created by Windows Live Photo Gallery to follow the photos and videos. • copy the images from the camera

    Hello:

I'm trying to copy pictures from my camera to my PC.

I have connected my Panasonic DMC - ZS8 to my new HP Desktop running windows8 - using the USB cable. A PC click on USB mode on my camera screen. Can't see pictures anywhere on my desktop. Everything that I'm doing wrong or not done?

Thanks in advance for any help.

    Greg

    Hi Gregp12,

I understand that you have connected your Panasonic DMC - ZS8 to your desktop HP running windows 8. Follow these steps with the camera on and the USB is connected.

Have you checked the updates with your system?

    To check updates

    1. Open Windows Update by hitting on any fly in the right edge of the screen (or, if you are using a mouse, pointing to the corner bottom right of the screen, move the mouse upward), tapping or clicking on settings, tapping or clicking on settings change to PC, and then tapping or clicking on update and recovery.

    2. Press or click Find now, and then wait while Windows searches the latest updates for your PC.

    3. If updates are found, tap or click install updates.

Read and accept the terms of the license and then press or click on Finish if the update requires it.

It will update with the camera set to USB and it should find the drivers.

Let me know if this helps.

    Thank you
