transition from xp to windows 7 I get windows could not retrieve information about the disks on this computer

why I get this message?... try to improve the hp mini 110-1037nr from xp to windows 7

This means that the hard drive of your HP system controller is not supported by Windows 7 with pilots from the box and you need specific drivers to install Windows 7 on it.  If HP does not have drivers on their website then you're probably not going to succeed.

    Hi Sarang_982,

    ·         When exactly you get the error message you at startup of the computer or when you open any application or when you try to run chkdsk on his machine?

Note: After troubleshooting, be sure to set the computer to start as usual as mentioned in step 7 in the above article.

You will need to disable automatic disk check, and then run the disk of the WINRE (Windows Recovery Environment) command prompt check and check if the c: drive error (there) get fixed.

You try to run the audit from WINRE for drive C: disk drive and if it helps. Here are the steps to open the command prompt in Windows RE:

    b. do one of the following:

    1. If your computer has a single operating system installed, press and hold the F8 key as your computer restarts. You need to press F8 before the Windows logo appears. If the Windows logo appears, you must try again by waiting until the Windows logon prompt appears, and then stop and restart your computer.

    2. If your computer has more than one operating system, use the arrow keys to select the operating system you want to repair, and then press and hold F8.

    c. on the Advanced Boot Options screen, use the arrow keys to select repair your computer and press ENTER. (If your computer is not listed as an option, then your computer doesn't understand no repair preinstalled recovery options, or your network administrator has disabled the.)

    d. Select a keyboard layout, and then click Next.

    e. in the System Recovery Options menu, click command prompt to open.

You must enable the service of virtual disk before you perform the upgrade, if you encounter this error.

    1. click on start / run and type SERVICES. MSC
    2. search for the virtual disk Service
    3. right click and choose 'properties '.
    4. make sure that the Startup Type is automatic, and then click the Start button.
5 reboot and try the upgrade again.

    I hope this helps.

  • Windows could not start after activating the boot.

    Hi all

I have a very serious problem.

A few lost technology from Microsoft asked that I have to do the following:

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/929135.

Immediately after the restart, I was confronted with the following message:

    Windows could not start.

    Status: 0xc000000e

Info: A required device is not connected or is not accessible.

Startup Repair does not work. -Root cause found: the partition table has not a Sys component validates.

System Restore does not work - the system cannot find the specified file (0 x 80070002)

Bootrec - rebuildbcd works no item was not found.

Bootcfg does not work - could not open the TRUNK. INI file.

Bcdedit does not work - the requested system device cannot be found.

GParted does not work - cannot load the ntfs module: invalid argument.

How can it be fixed, please?

It is an extremely urgent situation which must be resolved immediately, because I use this computer for work and need to return to work on a large commercial project Monday. Forget the original question that MS tech was trying to 'help' with, everything what I need now is to be able to get into Windows, or even just make this record available and accessible on the LAN computer.

Hi all, thank you for the advice.

Problem has been resolved after a cold start.

    Hello

1 have had any changes made to the computer before the show?

Please follow the steps in the link.

Important: before you perform an upgrade in-place, you must be prepared for the worst scenarios that led to your existing data on your computer being deleted. These data include data personal, settings, information about the hardware and software drivers. In case of a worst case scenario, you may have to reinstall all the programs. Make sure that you back up personal data to disks or other external storage devices before performing an upgrade on the spot.

  • Windows could not format a partition on disk 0. The error occurred when preparing the partition selected for installation. Error code: 0 x 80070057

So I just finished my first build. All this POST-ed fine, but I can't get 8.1 Microsoft 64-bit OEM installed on my SSD.

At first I could start a custom installation and it went through fine until the first reboot. This is where it says "disc error". I tried again hoping it would go but noticed a 350 MB "System reserved" Partition with the rest of my space unallocated in my 1st attempt to install.
I googled this problem and was told to remove the reserve system, so Windows could create its own partition, or something of that kind.
Installation works well until you restart again, where this time it says press any key to boot from the cd drive or something of the sort so I don't hope that Windows 8 would be to continue the installation. However, he wanted to just restart the entire system again!
I try once more in the hope that it would work, I remove the additional partitions created and repeat and this time I can't even begin installation due to the message in the title of this post.
    Since I was:
-Make sure SSD has been selected for AHCI (it was already on it)
-Reconnected given SSD + cables power as well as the CD player on shutdown and reboot
-Run Diskpart to repair the boot with these commands:
    -diskpart
    -disk list
    -select disk 0
    -clean
    -output
Same error code came again after attempting to reinstall. So I tried a few other commands:
    -diskpart
    -disk list
    -select disk 0
    -clean all the
at this point, he said: DiskPart has encountered an error: the request could not be performed because of an i/o device error.
    Someone please help!

Try to create the new partition and do. for example, to verify the steps for Windows 7-

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/2476568/en-us

    Likewise, create a partition first.

  • Getting name of VMhost who questioned when retrieving information about the NFS data stores

Sorry if the question has already been asked,

I try to present NFS shares in each ESXi host and that does the trick

Get-datastore. where type - eq 'NFS ' | Select name

However, I want to retrieve the name of the host from which the information is retrieved.

Unfortunately I do not see the name of the $vmhost among the names when I use get-datastore. get-member.

    How I do that?

    Thank you

    Alex

    Try something like this

    foreach($esx in Get-VMHost){    Get-Datastore -RelatedObject $esx |     Where type -eq "NFS" |     Select Name,        @{N="VMHost";E={$esx.Name}},        @{N="Host";E={$_.Extensiondata.Info.Nas.RemoteHost}},         @{N="Mount point";E {$_.Extensiondata.Info.Nas.RemotePath}}}

A way to see what are the properties on an object is like this

    $ds = Get-Datastore -Name DS1$ds.ExtensionData | Format-Custom -Depth 3
