  MSE update!  Microsoft Update worked, too.  I downloaded TDSSKiller on my office and renamed it in randomname.com.  He ran clean when I did not.  I used the command prompt to change the extension of the files exe to com, but you can enable extensions file via file operations in Explorer.   You can try to disable hardware acceleration in Firefox.

  • Tools > Options > advanced > General > Browsing: "use hardware acceleration when available.

  You will need to close and restart Firefox after enabling/disabling this setting.

  If you use the feature of ESET that filter web traffic, this problem could be caused by ESET intercept your secure connections and presenting a false certificate. If you see ESET as the transmitter, you have a few options:

  (1) disable SSL filtering

  This would solve the problem instantly, but you would have less protection. Check the documentation of your product for specific details, or if you have ESET NOD32 ANTIVIRUS 7 look under:

  Advanced Setup (F5) > Web and email > Web access protection

  Here you can adjust if HTTPS is scanned. (At least, so according to this manual.)

  (2) try ESET automated to import certificate

  This will allow Firefox to accept the false certificate signed by the certificate of ESET.

  These steps are listed on the forum of ESET:

  • With all browsers and e-mail clients private, disable SSL analysis (Advanced setup (F5) > Web and email > Web access protection, I think under protocol filtering > SSL), OK change
  • Re-enable SSL scanning, OK change
  • Start Firefox and test

  (3) manually import the certificate ESET in Firefox

  1. There is no public list where you can read what each update BIOS contains or which issues are fixed. It is always recommended to install later and ONLY Toshiba designed update the BIOS.
  2. I can't give you specific information about CPU upgrade, but as far as I know, replacement of the CPU is often not possible. The processors used in laptops are connected to the motherboard using a process called TCP (tape carrier package). It is a method of permanent connection and it is used in the interest of the miniaturization and heat dissipation. For more information try to contact the Service partner in your country.
  3. you will be lucky if someone has tested with the same unit. This unit is about three years old and it is not easy to say what is the maximum size of HDD supported by the BIOS. I found the info set comes with 40 GB and you can use 60 or 80 GB HARD drive, and I think that there should not be no problem. If you need more space, you can use external HARD drive (unit has USB 2.0 and data transfer speed will be fast enough)
  4. I don't think you can use any card combo on this device because of hardware architecture. WLAN is here but BT module is missing and you can use an external solution such as BT USB stick.

  a. installation to launch Windows XP.
  b. when the file fails to copy, remove the disk from the CD drive and insert the other XP CD in the drive to see if the copy process continues successfully.
  c. If the installation continues, complete the installation.

• I have Vista SP2 and I have a problem with my sidebar... as many others do.

I also tried the fix DPI adapting it to 120 and that didn't fix either. Also im now using IE9 not IE8 for a browser. Now, I have also tried the reg commands and deleted the file settings.ini and still nothing... PLEASE HELP ME!

  Have you used ALL of the above methods?

  If the clean boot did not allow the sidebar to load or work then it is probably corrupted

  Examples:

I'd really appreciate some help because my work everything is based on work with a mail client and my work is stacked at the moment.   By chance, I found the problem. It was called with a program supplied with Real Player Speed Bit Accelerator. After the closure of this off the problem went away (so far).
