Trouble connecting to internet with WRT160N

I have problems with internet on my mac mini.  The mac mini is connected via ethernet and is really slow.  Sometimes, it works very well.  Other times looks like 3 tries to load a page.  Sometimes it does not.  You never know.  The thing is my macbook is connected wireless and works perfectly.  The mac mini is even when my macbook is disabled.  He didn't get it until I bought the router, and it worked very well the first days of use of the router.  Any suggestions?

Is your router WRT160N v2 model? Then check if your firmware is build 11. If so, you should downgrade to build 8. We will be happy to help you with that.

  • HP DV7 - 3065dx notebook computer connect to Internet with crazy upgrade hardware!

    Hello

I want to know if I can upgrade my laptop to connect to Internet.

    My unit ~ DV7-3065dx

I would like to add: 4G WiMAX chipset mobile broadband (and pay for the service contract to have internet service)

My unit has been improved to 8 GB of Ram.

Is it possible to do to the laptop and to operate that way rather than using WiFi or Ethernet connections?

Basically, I want to use anywhere, because, with having to use a cell phone hot spot or something like that!

I hope I'm clear on my intentions? What is an option I can do regardless of the cost of the upgrade?

If so, can I get the details so I can do it and find like Verizon or At & T to put in place a contract with a service company?

    Thank you!

P.S. If I can't do that, what model of laptop latest 17inch buy who has these features already built in the factory?

    Hello sunsetMR,

There are at least two options available to upgrade your computer in support of WiMAX. One of the options is, Intel® WiMAX/WiFi Link 5350 and Intel® WiMAX/WiFi Link 5150. There are several manufacturers and different cards you can choose from. To ensure that the card is compatible with your computer, as well as with the service provider you choose.

The other option I would choose personally, would a USB adapter. If search you in Google, '4 G LTE USB internet', you can choose between multiple USB drives and service providers. It would take the guess work out of finding a compatible card and install in your laptop.

    Kind regards.

  • Connect the wrt54g with wrt160n v2 router

    Hi all

I have a PPPoE internet connection

    I have 2 routers first is wrt54g second wrt160n v2

I connect to the internet for the internet port of wrt54g

can I make network ssid (linksys1)

can I connect ethernet port wire to the first router wrt54g to the port at the second internet router wrt160n

I have disable fun DHCP. on the second router to do as only access points

then I put the network SSiD (linksys2) for the second router

    connections is Ok

the problem is that the internet is always what FastConnect throw the first SSID router (linksys1)

but when connect to second router ssid network (linksys2) its slow or limited (a few times)

    who is wrong?

Please follow the instructions in my previous post.  (Note: the solution posted by death is a 'unique network' - it does not create two separate networks, so it does not work for you.)

Since you want two separate networks, you must use two different SSIDS.  In addition, please choose a unique SSID.  Please do not use "linksys" or any variant of "linksys".  This will only cause you problems at some point in the future.  Use something unique, like "topgun" or "Lampshade."

    Can someone help me please?

How do you see that you are not connected...?

Do you have a data Plan on your mobile account valid BlackBerry?

Open your browser > Menu key > Options > Explorer and a game the browser to HotSpot and save.

Now, go back to the browser and IF you are connected to a WiFi router, your browser will only work.

  • Qosmio F30: Can not connect to internet with WiFi safely

I recently purchaced a Toshiba Qosmio F30 laptop and have spent the better part of two days trying to connect to wireless internet. After constantly call Wanadoo (my provider) and accusing them for all this, I thought that the laptop itself is at fault.

What happens is when I try to enter my network key (WEP), default is a different key that I can't see that it's all in the points! This continues to be and im am totally unable to enter my network key. Until it is I turn off security on my livebox thingy and connect unsecurely and as I live in close proximity apartments, other people can and probably will connect to my internet, and I am also told that makes me more at risk of viruses and other.

I apologize for my lack of technical jargon, and that I can not give a more descriptive... uh... description, but I'm just a beginner and not the most in computer science.

Any help would be appreciated more!... Why is nothing simpler!

    Hi Luke,.
Have you tried WAP (shared key) instead of WEP.
In this way, you will need to make your own key instead of having the it generated by the router.
    It is also safer.

To do this, you must enter the settings of your router (usually http://192.168.1.1 or http://192.168.0.1), enter the password provided by Wanadoo, then click Security. Change the setting WEP WAP (or shared key) and enter a 10digit password then you will need to enter it again when your computer tries to connect to the router again.

It is best to use a wired connection to change settings, then disconnect the cable and wireless.
If you notice that you are connected wireless to the router, and your internet connection is dead, temporarily disable the LAN (reactivate when you are satisfied with your connection works). This would happen if your computer includes your wireless network connection to other computers and the wired connection like you internet connection (even if there is no wire connected).

It is also important to change the administrator name and password to access your router (this would prevent your neighbors children playing to change your settings).
Let me know if you have more problems.

  • Can not connect to internet with Internet Explorer, following a recent Windows Update

After installing the recent update of Windows, I was not able to connect to the internet without making a "diagnose and repair" Network Sharing Center. Someone had a problem with that in the last two weeks or more? I'm running a Windows Vista Home Edition with IE9.

    Hello

    (1) who was the last update installed on your computer?
    (2) what exactly happens when you try to access the internet?
    (3) you get an error message?
    (4) if so, what is the complete\exact error message you get?
    (5) is the update installed, or it is not?
    (6) what is the brand and model of the computer you're using?

See the methods mentioned below and check if that helps.
    Method 1:

    Method 2:
Try disabling the security software and firewall when running Windows Update.
Note: If you temporarily disable or uninstall all security software for troubleshooting so remember to allow him, after the resolution of the problems to end because your computer will be at risk.
    Disable the anti-virus software
    Enable or disable Windows Firewall
    Method 3:
Try the following article below to resolve network connectivity problems in Internet Explorer.
    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/936211

    Method 4:
Uninstall and reinstall the wireless card driver.

Step 1: Download driver network card on the manufacturer's website.

Step 2: Uninstall the network adapter driver and restart the computer. Let Windows install the generic drivers and then see if it helps you to solve the problem.

    A. open the Device Manager by clicking the Start button, click Control Panel, clicking system and Maintenance, and then clicking Device Manager.
    B. Si you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.
    C. find the device network according to the network card option, right-click on it and select Uninstall.
    D. restart the computer.

Step 3: Install the network adapter driver and check.

    Hope this information helps.
  • 8620 HP: HP 8620 connects to Internet with WiFi

After reading several posts I couldn't 8620 HP to connect to the internet using a wired connection.  This wired connection had no problem with printing or scanning to multiple computers on my network.

I tried different solutions to make the wired connection to the Internet work:

    • Static IP address
    • Printer Firmware updated
    • Port forwarding (Port 80 for working on my router; could not do error reportef as duplication?)
    • Setting clock
    • Disable IPv6
    • Multiplle restart the printer and the router

Then I tried to use wireless (WiFi) connection.  It worked.  Now, I really prefer to use the wired connection.

If it helps I have a Linksys router e4200 with current firmware.

Please help me make the wired (Eithernet) to connect to the internet.

    Thank you

    DocCottle;

Thanks for your reply.  I solved this problem by printing two reports "HP Network Configuration";  One eithernet and wireless.  Then I compared the two differences because I know that it worked on wireless and not eithernet.

The only difference between the two was DHCP making for the wireless and wide for a wiring.  As I assigned permanent IP addresses on the router, I guess that DHCP is fine.  I have change the wired / eithernet connection DHCP... Now it works!

It seems strange to me, that was the question, but I'm glad everything is working now.

Thanks again for your help and pour this solution into your bag of solutions when your help others.

You have McAfee? McAfee has been updated at the same time as the last batch of updates from Windows 7 and this is the cause of problems of internet connection for most, if not all, users of McAfee.

See the communication from this "criticism" - McAfee

Some customers may experience a loss of network connectivity and/or errors in McAfee Security Center after a recent update

You should make the fix McAfee, if necessary. There are corresponding communications for their enterprise products.

I had to run the McAfee removal of Development tool a few times before and it caused a problem with the license if the PC was not connected to the internet during the abduction. Due cat of McAfee support reset their files in order to allow the relocation-reactivation. Here is their link cat - McAfee - media contains the link to the cat

  • Problem connecting to internet with the VM Fusion

Decided to try VM Fusion for my iMac.  I had been running dual OS with OS X and Vista with Bootcamp.  No problem for them.

Any Bootcamp with Fusion and benefited from the easy access, but my internet connection will not work.  Works fine in OS X, but when running windows it says that it cannot find the driver for the ethernet card.  Have tried to use the Mac and Windows Vista disk driver installation disk.  Any suggestions?

First of all it matter where in the .vmx you put if it is on its own line and that you cannot edit the .vmx file while a Virtual Machine is running or paused.

  • I can ONLY connect to the internet with IE7 and Outlook Express

I have Win XP SP3, home wired network, Netgear router, cable internet, Lenovo desktop.
I can run IE 7 and Outlook Express and connect to the internet very well with these.  However, I can not connect using FireFox.  Windows Update returns an error and does NOT connect to scan my computer and display the necessary updates.  I just installed tax program this year HR CD block and it is unable to connect to internet to download the updates.  I used IE7 to go to the web site of the tax program to download the update manually, but it doesn't connect either.  I also can't complete installation OF Adobe (Digital Editions) program because it must connect to the internet in order to make a registration.

I have disabled the Windows Firewall, do not have a configured proxy.  So, I can browse the internet with IE7 and get email with Outlook express.  I went on the site from Google Chrome to try to download it and install it that (using IE7 of course), but after I press the "Download" button, IE7 says that it cannot connect to perform the download.

I scanned this forum and not seen similar symptoms that would allow me to reach a solution.  Everyone knows about this issue and how to resolve?

P.S. I have two other laptops Win XP which CAN completely connect to internet with IE and Firefox via the same router and the modem cable.

I tried trojan remover and none of the things in the menu utils found any problems.

But it turns out that my problem was a hidden/partial copy of Symantec Client Firewall that I thought was deleted.  Over the months some programs had been updated and Symantec didn't know about them, so it was blocking their access: FROM Adobe, HR Block, IE8, Firefox, etc.  Given that I have not seen it listed in the start menu and it was not listed in Add/Remove Programs, I didn't have to try to remove it.  And it was not poping up to tell me of a new program attempts to access the Internet.

I used the Symantec tool to remove all THE stuff of Symantec and it cleared up my connection problems.  I then reinstalled Symantec Client Security (antivirus and firewall) and turned off the Windows Firewall.
