  • MacBook showing only not as trusted device

    Hello-

I have an iPhone and a MacBook and I enabled two-factor authentication, but my MacBook does not appear as a trusted device, that is, I can only receive a two factors on my iPhone and not my Mac code.  I didn't even know that my MacBook could get a code of two factors, until my wife was connecting some Apple related sites while using the MacBook and she got an authentication code.

I would like to have my work MacBook as a trusted device, so I have two secure devices, instead of one.

    Any thoughts?

    Thank you!

  • Is cloning with disk utility (10.11), reliable? Can you do trust sound check?

I cloned a 4 to with bad sectors (according to DriveDx) and a new 4 to. The drive is successfully verified. Can I trust the contents of the new drive? If the player has verified that means that bad sectors were readable, or just that copied by the damaged disk data utility "with success."

Another thing, when I started the computer, Time Machine does not recognize that the new disc is a clone of the previous and delete all backups of the previous player (nice one Time Machine)... so now, only two copies of my entire life are these two 4TBs...

  • Firefox reports an error of TLS for a website that I trust, but provides no way to override the error message.

For a few months (end of 2015) Firefox returned an error of "secure connection failed" when I try to access my account at a major insurance. The site worked fine in Firefox for years and works very well with Microsoft Edge, but I prefer to use Firefox. The link "more info" in the error message indicates that the message the site uses outdated TLS security and I have to contact the owners to tell them to update. I've tried and failed; Blue Cross makes it even more difficult to "contact us" that Mozilla does.

Why is there no no "I trust this site - go anyway" option? I'm experienced enough to make my own decisions of safety.

Thank you! The security.tls.version.max had been "user set" with a value of 1, and I have reset as you indicated. The value is now 3 and I could access my Blue Cross account normally.

I guess that dates this problem when I got my new computer and did a new install of Firefox to August 10. The TLS parameter is perhaps one provided with the download.

BTW, I noticed BitDefender in the news of the page also. The error page didn't identify its source; 'other info' led to support from Mozilla, but I was wondering if my antivirus was the culprit. Apparently, this is the setting in place of security of Firefox.

    Problem solved, thank you, jscher2000!

  • Trust verification of the certificate by post?

Since his return to mac OS in 2009, I had a constant problem when mail opens and he tells me I have a unverified "trusted certificate". It is usually my domain host associated with my email of the domain. seems that no matter how many times I put the three settings to "always trust" that it is. It's super annoying and goes across my work is done. I sometimes have two or three or more per session (perhaps because of the relatively large number (10) of the e-mail on these areas accounts).

does anyone know how to disable this prompt or otherwise obtain certain technical information from apple on how to disable this option? I have the guest and I hope that Web site.

It seems that there are very few solutions for this and the ones I tried to never work.

    Thank you

Have you tried to remove the certificate? A new must then be downloaded.

  • Firefox blocks of trusted web sites

trying to order something online. Firefox saying "this site is untrusted. I have used the site before with no problems. They use IE or Chrome. Can you help me?

    hughmaccallum said

Is this a common problem when you have a combination of Firefox and Kaspersky? I did not use to get a problem. I wonder if the updates of Firefox have caused the problem? It is not a problem if I use IE.

It occurs when the trust between Firefox and Kaspersky is broken. Usually transparent Kaspersky inserts his signature certificate in the Windows (shared by IE and Chrome) system certificate store and Firefox certificate store, and there is no problem. However, if you use Firefox refresh, the old certificate store is removed and Firefox trusts are more "fake" certificates until it is configured to work with Kaspersky again. I'd say it's the most common scenario on this forum.
