trying to set up my backup files will be stored on copy c drive: but the only option is the dvd player

try to set up my backup files will be stored on my drive c: internal, but the only option available is the dvd/cd drive how can I store on my drive c an option?

Windows cannot save the C: partition (which is where Windows is installed) on the C: partition.

You must be

(1) shrink the C: partition and create and partition drive (not the best of solutions)

(2) install another hard drive (better, but always sensitive to corruption in car during power failres or other problems)

(3) external USB key. This is the safest option, because the external drive has to know alternative, the only attached USB cable when you need to access the data, create or recover Image backups).

Is there a way to recover the EFS encrypted files stored on an external drive without the original of the certificate?

I had photos/files stored on an external drive and have been encrypted with EFS in XP. The main drive crashed, all keys have been lost. Got a new main drive, installed the new OS and now can't access encrypted files.

Unless you can retrieve parts of your old drive or have a backup of your encryption certificate, you have probably lost all of your encrypted data.  Recovery agents work only if they are in place when the file/folder is initially encrypted.  A program like AEFSDR might be able to resurrect your old certificate from your old drive if it is readable at all.  If you plan to use EFS in the future, make sure you read the following article the court - particularly paragraph entitled "why you should back up your certificates.

original title: installation of Windows 7

    Hey Joe,

I suggest that you visit the gigabyte website for your region (and/or the site global http://www.gigabyte.com/?f=g ) and check your motherboard for compatibility with Windows 7.

The problem you are experiencing would imply that Windows 7 has no native driver support for your disk controller, so if Gigabyte don't have drivers that you are locked unless you buy a discreet disk controller that is compatible Windows 7.

Please mark this as useful or response if applicable.

  • How can I set up the DVD player, the 1st boot priority?

I don't know hoe to set my PC startup to restart from the DVD player. I have a product recovery disk, but not to make my PC open system restore. Help, please.
I changed my system registry uxtheme.dll and this problem started occurring.

Put the DVD in the drive and start it.

You may need to change a BIOS setting to make the first boot device, a DVD/CD player. To do this, when you turn on look for a configuration message indicating what key to start typing - F2 and del are commonly used. The message appears for very long and it you miss, you have to restart the computer.

In the BIOS, look for a section that contains the boot sequence, change to CD/DVD, save it and let the computer to restart. In addition, some pre-installed systems have another key (usually F12) that allows the user to open the start menu rather than change the BIOS boot sequence.

  • DVD won't play in the computer, will play in the dvd player

Hello. I have burned several dvds of our showcase of dance for participants using first elements 14. Because of the length, I did an image ISO bootable first, then he burned from that. • restored my Dell computer to its factory settings, but my backup files will not restore

original title: restoration of PC for windows XP

Used "files and Settings Transfer wizzard" to restore my Dell computer to its factory settings.

I saved my files to an external hard drive.

Restoring to factory settings worked fine however not recover my files backed up.

A message is displayed (the location you specified contains no stored information)

I can see the USMT2 file. UNC on my external hard drive and it's big enough.

Need help to restore my files.

    Hi GeorgeGould,

If it helps, try the step below and check out them.

    (a) access to the following location: C:\WINDOWS\system32 and copy the USMT folder (and all what it) to the location you saved the USMT2. The UNC file.

    (b) now when you run the files and the Transfer Wizard from the settings of the computer that you want to transfer the data, navigate to the location of USMT folder you saved above and click on ""migwiz " and that should start normal files and the wizard to transfer settings from this location."

Note: Be sure to point to the location to the root, for example, if you save your data at X:\nelson\USMT2. UNC, then point the location to X:\NOT to X:\nelson\USMT2. UNC. The wizard should find the data automatically.

You should now be able to successfully complete the transfer process.

  • Is it possible to set up a PDF file to print out a copy and one copy?

I work for an organization where we organize different types of successive elections. To this end, we want to send newsletters in PDF format the files attached to an email. But to avoid fraud, it will be necessary to set up the PDF file so that it will only allow one printing file. Is this possible? And if yes: How do we proceed?

I am aware that the Acrobat security settings allow you to set up password protection, and after that, you can determine weather the file should print "in full" or only allow printing LoRes. But the fact is there to limit the number of prints allowed from specific file - in this case to a feeling and a feeling only. Any suggestions... ?

No, not possible. How would it stop - if it was stored in the file, then make a copy of the file before opening it would start from scratch. Many printers can also do a reprint, or change the number of copies of the control panel. You would need a much more robust system to prevent fraud (such as anti-theft ballot papers - but then, it is therefore more a secret ballot).

  • music file will not play in second hard drive double click Error "" the requested operation requires a rise ".

Original title: music file won't play second hard drive by double click.

    Windows 7 ultimate/64

I have a second hard drive on which I store my music files. If I open a player (Foobar is what I use now) and open the music file in the program, he plays very well, since the second HD.

But if I double click on the music file (.mp3, usually), I get the message:

"The requested operation requires a rise."

I think it should open in the player by default when I do that.

I remember well, it wasn't the case when I started to use this computer (it's fairly new), while something might have changed.
I have the .mp3, .wav etc all default extensions for the Foobar player program.

I went through elaborate measures to appropriate the entire disk and have granted full permissions for me as a user, following to the letter one of the many sites of the detailed instructions for this operation. But there is no help in sight.
Original title: music file won't play second hard drive by double click

So I can let my reader opens a music file leave a second drive, but I can't call him by double click or click right/context citing the player. When I do that, nothing happens, but I don't get the message "requires a rise."

Every time I think that I am getting to know Windows 7, something like this happens. Avoid to receive life dull, of course.

Thanks a lot for your suggestions. I've pretty much exhausted my own attempts.

    Jack

Update: I think I've solved the problem. I have no idea that what caused it, but here's what fixed it:

1 uninstalled Foobar with usual Control Panel uninstall
2A through the startup disk everything and delete folders or files with the name "foobar" in them.
3 did the same for the registry (creating a point of restoration first, of course)
    4 restarted
    5 download and install Foobar.

    Yes.

    Works very well.

A big thank you to all who responded.

    Hello

    1. the problem occurs only with this game disc?

    2. don't you get AutoPlay windows when inserting the disc?

Method 1: You can browse the contents of the game disc and locate the Setup file which is the setup.exe file.

Game disc should contain the file setup.exe and install the game.

Method 2: If you are not to ask the AutoPlay option when the disc is inserted and then follow the steps in the article and check:
