  I have VDR backup right now most of my virtual machines. I'm experimenting with some recovery scenarios disaster using VDR. I want to set up a new device, backup virtual machines themselves, but with a destination off. My question is, it would cause problems to have two different devices, backup the same virtual machines?

  I'm asking this is because I was looking at the notes of recent VMworld session on VDR and he says, regarding a troubleshooting scenario in which you must create a new device in addition to your current device, both devices back up the same virtual machines do not.

  I'm not sure what exactly you are asking. Can you please clarify!

  Basically you can resize a virtual drive or add a second virtual disk to a virtual machine and transfer/copy files. You can also resize the virtual disk using VMware Converter for example.

  I am a newbie so please forgive if this is a stupid question...

  Can I deploy the same virtual machine (XP Pro), with the same machine name and the same GUID for several machines on a network without going through issues such as errors of names duplicate etc. Or will I sysprep prior to deployment.  If so, is there an easier way to do it?

  Not sure if this is important, but I need to use Bridged networking due to problems with our personal firewall.

  You will need to deal with the dupe GUID. Sysprep is a method.

  Now the question: since I move sometimes, I would like to be able to move this virtual machine on a Macbook Pro, so I must not move file, sync, etc., and the virtual machine will not at the same time. I read that you use Move so the address UUID and Mac do not change, but I don't know if this applies to move the virtual machine to another computer. If my is:

  (1) is it possible?

  (2) what I have to buy a second copy of Fusion 6 or there is a player that will allow me to run the virtual machine on the macbook?

  I have experimented with a Windows 7 VM, copied (but I have 2 licenses of retail sales) a mini Mac Core 2 Duo to a Core i7 MacBook Pro retina: well, despite the different processor, he did not ask a reactivation, strangely, even after a few resets.   I just upgraded to 8.1 on Mac OS X 10.11.3 Fusion "El Capitan" on a new iMac 27-inch 5K retina. The guest operating system is a new virtual machine Windows 10 Pro. I have two user accounts on the virtual machine, my local administrator account and another account local standard user. When I am logged into my account, I am able to drag and drop files to and from the guest to the normally Mac OS. As the mouse moves freely between the guest OS and the Mac. However, when I connect using the standard other account, I can't drag - move to and from the guest for the Mac OS. Also once I click into the virtual machine the mouse movement is limited to the virtual machine until I have press the buttons on the Mac to free the movement of the mouse to the Mac. I tried to uninstall and reinstall the vmware tools but the same behavior persists. Any ideas on a solution and why these two users accounts would act differently?

  Just phone with the help of VMware. They solved the problem in uninstalling and reinstalling VMware tools and change the following VMware Fusion preferences-> preferences-> General-> Gaming: to 'Never mouse optimize for games '. It has been set to 'always optimize the mouse for games '.  After that drag & drop, mouse movement works smoothly and perfectly now. Thank you VMware support!

  It will not work.  You will need at least two hosts.  This way you can vMotion the vCenter VM to another host.  From there, you can use VUM.  Otherwise, you will need to patch the host as a stand-alone host.

  I have a virtual machine with 2 NIC cards. A NETWORK adapter with the IP of the server VLAN assigned with gateway. Second NETWORK card with the address IP of the VLAN without any IP in the heart rate. Now a strange problem occurred as follows:

  -server communication of VLAN with its gateway was OK before adding the 2nd NIC

  -Server VLAN lost communication with its gateway after I added 2 NIC

  -J' removed the 2nd NIC still not able to communicate with the gateway

  -J' removed 1 NIC and add the new NETWORK adapter, now his ping

  -Now, even after I tried to add the 2nd NIC problem persists as mentioned in step 2

  It could be network connectivity.

  Then, you switch to your remote Client to view from on the Internet. To do this, you assign the URL of the "external" ExternalIP:4172 PCoIP. Note that you don't need to restart the login server for this to take effect. It takes effect immediately. This IP address will be the public IP address which will probably through a NAT/firewall to access your connection to the server. You can start by checking that the IP address is correct using to connect to the server address when you satrt the customer to view. When you use the same IP address to the Client and through the authentication step, it will prove that it is set up correctly in terms of Routing/NAT etc. Then follow with Wireshark on the login server and observe what happens when you select a pool of virtual offices and get the black screen. You should see the same activity PCoIP on your login server model as in the case of internal test (i.e. starting with the incoming TCP connection on port 4172). View Client will use the ExternalIP address that you specified in the "URL external PCoIP ' to establish the PCoIP connection to connect to the server. So if you don't see this com 4172 TCP on the login server, or you do not see the packets UDP 4172 then something is blocking. This is usually caused by a firewall or a proxy blocking PCoIP.

  If this is the case and you do not see these packets to connect to the server, then run Wireshark on the Windows Client to view and see if you can see 4172 TCP and/or UDP sent to this ExternalIP 4172. If Yes, then you know that something (such as a firewall or proxy) between the Customer View and the view connection server it blocks.

  in general, the signature should not change in a scenario you desrcibed.

  The ESX host allows you to create a data store VMFS on this LUN collects information provided by the table.

  This information will be used to generate a signature (the process itself is still not published by VMware).

  The signature itself is stored in the VMFS data store and is always used when the Renumeriser SCSI operations.

  Whenever an ESX Server perform a reboot or rescan operation, the following procedure will be used (high level).
