Two ps3s CoD4 WRT54GS v7

I have two ps3s that are connected using the easy option in the XMB with active UPNP and to NAT 2. one of us can play any game online. But when two of us try to go on Call of Duty 4, the last of them to click on find game will get "Downloading game settings", this may take a few minutes to hours.

My router is a Linksys WRT54GS V7 with the latest firmware.

Step by step instructions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

After a lot of Goggleing on the internet, I found a cure!

disable the UPnP settings on your router! Time to start fragging n00bs with my brother!

  • Speed with EG008W worm 3 problem

This is my first time writing on a forum, so please forgive the long-winded explanation. I want to just make sure that I give all the details.

I currently own a WRT54G and WRV54G, BEFSR41. My internet modem is connected directly to the WRV54G and the other two are directly related to the WRV54G also. The small network, I had was working completely fine and I never had problems.

Last month, I bought an EG008W 3 worm in the hope of accelerating my internal network from my laptop (vista 64 home), my server HP ex485 smart media, and my PS3 all have gigabit cards.

I removed the WRV54G WRT54G and connected the EG008W to WRV54G. Then I connected my laptop, my HP mediasmart ex485 server, my PS3 and WRT54G to the EG008W.

I did not notice the changes of speed in the last month, so this week I decided to give it a try at low speed. Copy of 5 GB of files from my server on my laptop says it would take me 5 hrs. I connected my laptop to the WRT54G and tried to copy the same files, and it took a little less than 10 minutes. I connected the laptop to the EG008W and tried to copy the same files. I let it sit for 30 minutes and then abandoned.

I did a session with Linksys chat and was told to return to the store. The store policy didn't allow exchanges, but they have test and that the EG008W worked well for them.

I brought home and tried with the following, set up simple: WRV54G to EG008W Modem. Then I plugged in just the laptop and the server at EG008W. I copied the same 5 GB of files and first of all, it looked promising, but after 15 minutes, he said still 3 hours left. I would have liked a boost of my network speed, but whether slower than my wireless connection G isn't fair.

I have cat5e wiring and cords connection. I kept the same wiring when I connect the switch to the router when you perform tests.

Any help would be appreciated. I'd appreciate also all new tests that I can try.

Aponikikay thank you very much for your answer.

I could get my hands on another laptop with a gigabit card and with that one my switch worked correctly. I guess it turns out be something with my laptop.

  • Unable to connect to the network

I have a KDL-55EX710 with the SOny USB lan adapter. I can't connect. I tried using the wireless and now have tried with the wireless modem/router combo directly and does not always connect. I have both PS3 and the two have connected wireless to my network without problem. The tv said ok device wired and wireless, but at the same time the locall access and internet access has failed? Any ideas?

I have exactly the same problem with my KDL55NX810 which is only 2 months old. I had the internet works fine on my old router... then I got a new NetGear router... because the old one quit on me... and just tried connecting TV to one and I get the "Local Access FAILED" & "Web Access FAILED" new... Even took the password on the router and it still doesn't work. When I click on "Refresh the internet connection", I get an error code <2200>... I called and they had me TV to restore to factory three times... and it still didn't work. My laptop and all of our cell phones access the network wireless very well... I am at a loss!

  • Windows 7 network can't see multiple devices on the network

Hi all.  I'm about to leave my hair on this issue - I hope someone can prevent the horror that would be me without hair.

I am running Windows 7 Home Edition on a personal computer that is connected via cable to a router UVerse also providing my home with wireless services.

A few months ago, I could see - of my PC, network and devices and printers - the two PS3, XBox systems and Samsung TV devices that are connected to my wireless network.  Apparently randomly, my computer has ceased to be able to see these devices.  After trying everything I could think of, I've finally reformatted the system (before Christmas) and everything was good again until last week when my computer stopped once more to see these devices.  I * really * don't want to reformat my system again...

Here are some details on where I started after the last reformat:

The PC is connected to a homegroup.

The PC has a wired connection to the router.  The devices are connected over wireless.

    The firewall is turned on.

    AVG anti-virus has been activated.

Network discovery, file and sharing printers and streaming media are all enabled.

    Password sharing is disabled.

Devices could stream Netflix/Hulu as well as files on my computer (using the PlayOn Server - I've never used WMP).

Now my devices can still Streaming Netflix/Hulu, but not the files on my computer.  The PC can't see the devices and the devices cannot see the PC.

Here is a list of most of the things I've tried to solve (although I've done so many things, I probably don't forget some):

I added the PC to the wireless network, so now that it is connected both cables and wireless.  I even tried to fill these connections, although I removed the bridge when I saw that there was no difference.

I have disabled the firewall completely.

    I disabled the AV entirely.

I switched a residential group to a working network and vice versa.

I gave you the assigned IPs devices in the router configuration.

I've rolled back all the windows updates installed since the last time the devices showed in the PC network.

I've removed the devices on the network, reconnected the and reconfigured to ensure that they have the media streaming (if applicable).

I did several reboots the PC, the router, and devices.

I added the PlayStation Network and XBOX Live and applications hosted under NAT/game on my router.

I have enabled file sharing for devices that use 40 encryption or 56-bit.

    Additional troubleshooting information:

When I try to add a device using the Add Device dialog box, no device never shows.

Under media streaming options, when I look at instruments under all the networks and Local network, no unknown device only shows (even in WMP).  All devices that * show are already set to 'allow '.

If I have access to my router configuration, the devices will appear as connected.

I can ping devices from the PC.

I searched endlessly on the Internet (including other threads on this forum) and have tried all of the suggestions I thought.  The only thing I can't do is activate uPNP on my router because routers Uverse do not offer this option.  However, I don't think that it's important because my PC could see these devices for some time after my last reformat and made no changes to the configuration of the router.

Because multiple and different wireless devices are involved, and because a reformat solves the problem, in my view, it is a Windows problem, but I can't understand what to change on my system to make things work again.

    Anyone have any ideas?

    Hello

Thanks for posting your query in Microsoft Community.

It's a shame that you have to format the system first and now, the problem still persists. I really appreciate the efforts made to try to resolve the problem. This can be due to any dispute of third party software due to which the connection failed. I suggest you follow the methods below and check.

Method 1: Run the network troubleshooter to diagnose the problem.

    Run the network troubleshooter

Method 2: start the computer in safe mode with network and then perform the clean boot.

Step 1: restart the computer in safe mode with network and check if the problem occurs, proceed as in the link:

See: , start your computer in safe mode

Step 2: If the safe mode with network works, perform clean boot and check if any third-party application is causing problem.

Put your system to the clean boot state helps determine if third-party applications or startup items are causing the problem. You must follow the steps in the article mentioned below to perform a clean boot.

How to perform a clean boot in Windows

Note: see 'How do I reset the computer to start normally after a boot minimum troubleshooting' to reset the computer starts normally after troubleshooting.

Method 3: To enable the network devices to display on the network map, they must meet four requirements:

    • Must be a HOME network or work: Mapping network only display the devices connected to a HOME network or WORK location. Devices connected to a network PUBLIC or FIELD cannot be displayed using the network card.
    • Devices must be DETECTABLE: The network discovery setting allows devices to be able to be seen by other devices on the same network. For more information, please consult: , enable or disable network discovery
    • Devices must comply with the LINK LAYER TOPOLOGY DISCOVERY Protocol: Topology Discovery LLTD (Link Layer) is a protocol developed by Microsoft to enable networked devices to 'discover' each other. If a device does not use the LLTD protocol so it can not be displayed in the network map. Windows 7 computers have the LLTD protocol implemented.
    • LLTD must be enabled on your LAN connection properties: The Link Layer Topology Discovery Mapper of e/s driver and the Link Layer Topology Discovery responder must be enabled on your local area connections properties panel.

To check LLTD is enabled, you can refer to the following steps:

    a. Select open network and sharing Center by clicking on the icon of your network down to the right of your task bar:

    b. now, click connect to the Local network

    c. now, click on Properties

    d. ensure that two LLTD options below are selected (by default, these options are still enabled in Windows 7).

From now to try the methods above and let us know the status. We will be happy to help you further.

  • WRT54GS - broadcasting of two SID

My WRT54GS seems to emit two SIDS wireless

One is called linksys - and is open without any security. I guess that's a default setting?

The other is one I set with security WEP and MAC filtering.

How to I get rid of the value by default "linksys" sid and don't allow access to the SID defined with security?

    Thanks in advance

Thanks, just loaded iStumbler and Yes ADR mac for the sid that I configured is as expected. The linksys SID has a different macaddr so it must be a neighbor who has an open wireless router.

  • Linksys WRT54G broadcasts simultaneously two wireless signals.

Everyone knows the Linksys WRT54G Router broadcast two signals?  I did a wirelss security reset in my modem the other day and changed the name of the SSID broadcast.  Now I have the old and the new SSID broadcast at the sametime.  When I go into my router I see that a new figure.  My problem is that the new SSID I created is encrypted with WPA Personal and older SSID broadcasting still is not encrypted, anyone can jump on the signal.  The older SSID has been initially encrypted in WEP... I can't understand this.  Can anyone help?

FYI... the new SSID signal is very strong and the most original is weak.

I turned on MAC filtering wireless in order to prevent anyone with a laptop that is close to my network.

Your router can broadcast only one SSID. If you have changed and configure WPA Personal then that's for sure.

The unsecured "linksys" network is your neighbor. If you check the web interface of the unsecured "linksys" network you will see that it is another. See the status page.

  • Garland of two WRT54G

Hi, I was wondering if it would be possible for me to use two WRT54G routers online implemented a.

The first WRT54G is currently on the first floor connected to the cable modem and which is now used for my network wireless home... and with that, I want to stay in operation as such.

I have a second WRT54G I want to put on the second floor (connected to the first with a single ethernet 100 ' cable) to be used as a "switch" that I have an electrician two PC games of. I don't really have concerns about the second unit providing any sort of wireless network support. as the first unit can reach every appliance in my house with full signal.

I was told that it is quite possible to do so. But I have just no idea how to go about implementing. It is as easy as just wiring it all and tension to the top? Or the second router requires a few changes to make it work properly?

I updated the point up a (crude) diagram to show what I'm looking for

  • WRT54GS do not "see" modem, but the two seem to work fine.

    Router: WRT54GS V7

    OS: Win XP

Router was fine since it was installed (months; can't remember how much).  Had to reboot a couple of times, but not a big deal.  Today, he suddenly decided that he can no longer see my DSL modem.  All of the lights on the modem; all necessary lights are on the router, but they can't talk to each other for some reason any.

When I connect the modem directly to the computer, the internet is fine.  When I hang in the router, LELA tells me that he has no internet connection.  Troubleshooting has followed to the letter, no luck.  Tried the instructions to set up a DSL connection (where you change 192.168.1.1 to 192.168.2.1), but it was a mess.  Reset the router, no change.

I'm not a geek, so I don't know where to go from here.  Can anyone help?

    Steph VG

Thanks for your solution.  I had actually done everything several times without success.  I had reconnected a lot more quickly as I rec'd an answer here (don't mean to be in a bad mood, just it is the reality of what I do), so I contacted the Linksys customer service and it turned off don't not to be a hardware problem at all; I downloaded the latest version of LELA and everything, it was fixed.

In any case, thank you for taking the time to answer and for your help.

  • WRT54G windows 7 without Internet

    Firmware v1.1 4.21.1

    Hello

General information... as a short but detailed as possible

I have the wired connections that follows:

    Desktop PC (Windows7)

    Bedroom PC (XP)

    Printer

    PS3

    wireless connections:

    Room 2 PC (XP)

    Laptop (XP)

I had all this running smoothly across the router from W7 is released and installed on the desktop computer.

Yesterday, our internet lost space through our cable provider. Came back on today, but here's where the problems start.

I confirmed service service providers is back upward by connecting the modem directly to the desktop. Everything is ok.

I then tried to connect through the router WRT54G, but W7 tells me that I have no internet access. I can connect to 192.168.1.1 OK, but on the status page, it shows me the following:

    IP address: 0.0.0.0

    Subnet mask: 0.0.0.0

    Default gateway: 0.0.0.0

None of the list of the DNS 1, 2 or 3.

Troubleshooting network in W7 I said the "DNS server not responding".

Trying to do a ping test 192.168.1.1 in the Administration tab says "network is unreachable".

The local DHCP Active IP network Table / status shows my DT 192.168.1.100 but agin not able Ping this address, again "network is unreachable".

I tried options DHCP Release and rescued, but nothing changes.

My next step was to reflash the firmware and power cycle the router but still no change.

This is so, I can't access the internet through the router (only directly from the modem to the PC) so I get a lot of grief for children who want to play the PS3, but more important still, I can't online from my workstation in the bedroom. I would be surprised if the router is dead despite his age, because I can access the page to admin without problem.

Any ideas on what I can do to get everything working again.

    THX

    Update

Two power cycles later and all work again. Don't know why, but hayho.
