  First you must enable sharing of files and printers in Windows XP. During this process, you need to change the name of your to WORKGROUP MSHOME workgroup to match the workgroup name in Windows 7.

  You should also turn on file sharing and printers in Windows 7, and turn off password protected sharing.

  When you have done all that, click View workgroup computers on the XP PC. You should see the two PC listed.

  With the laptop to Windows 7, you should see the printer connected to your computer listed with the desktop computer (you may need to click on see the whole map when you open the network and sharing Center). Click on the printer and click on connect. I hope that the printer is capable of Windows 7. If it isn't, it will give you an error that it cannot find an appropriate driver or another error.

  Hello, I am trying to get my internal speakers to work. They worked fine up until I had to repalce my hard drive. I finailly got all my drivers installed and updated on the site variouus.  Now, when I check my internal speakers (no system sounds) I can not find the make and model of them.  All I can identify is that I have.  That the drivers are missing. No part number for the company name, etc. is connected with the internal speakers.

  I don't know what you mean by getting the drivers from "various sites." The only place to get the drivers for the hardware that is installed with your Dimension is the Dell Web site.

  2. download and save the software COMPLETE features (do not install online)

• Toshiba laptop keyboard not working not properly

  Today my daughter was doing the work of the school on my old Toshiba laptop purchased in February 2012. It crashed at 12 Dec, Toshiba gave me the whole term on fixig so I had to have local difficulty. Even after it was fixed, it never was the same a awesome laptop turned into something of a child's play. Anyway, I gave this laptop to my daughter and bought another laptop. Once again, the Toshiba worked but was not until I had to do, was not quickly leave and the hard drive was not the same (once it has been repaired), but it was bearable for a child. Today, my daughter was of school work (or try) when she noticed problems with the keyboard. The buttons were working, but which has been pressed, wasn't showing on the screen. Example: If you press the W button, this indicates: 3/3/3/3/3 appears in the display. If you press the button, it appears:... (3) individual letters, numbers and random characters appear on the screen when you try to type. If you press BACKSPACE, it refreshes the page. I found an old office keyboard and ito the Toshiba is plugged and I am able to type without any problem, so I thought that it was a matter of device. I went to devices and printers, ran a bad shoot and got the following report:

  I tried to install a driver using Windows Update, but it was uncessful / could not detect a driver installed. Windows has suggested I go the manufacturer of my laptop to download a driver from this site. I'm on the Toshiba site now and after entering my serial number on this subject, they gave me a list of updates. I do not know which install beause they have two updates listed under keyboard, 10 listed under devices. I don't know which one I need to choose.

  When I first bouht the Toshiba it was Windows 7 (which came standard with all computers). The person who fixed installed Windows 7 Ultimate, if it helps. Can someone please advise on what is wrong with the laptop keyboard. The laptop was not great after it crashed / 'repaired', but he was able to do the basic functions

  Sorry, but I don't see it as a software problem, despite the report of devices and printers.  I would say that time has caught up with your computer "crashed" (where the report of devices and printers).

  Are you able to type normally with an external keyboard, the "computer" went very well. The problem is with the keyboard and/or the original "repair" (which does not look like it completely solved the original problem).

  My suggestion would be to take it to a repair shop trust you, or your daughter use the external keyboard, or possibly to invest a few hundred dollars in a used cell phone, or...

  I have a HP Pavilion Entertainment PC (dv6736nr), Windows Vista laptop.  The hard drive crashed and I got a new installed.   I set up my wireless connection, even that is on the other 4 computers in this building (my desktop computer running win7 netbook win7 running 2 computers of the landlord, winVista running - they have comcast modem,? a good router) when I set up the wireless connection, it connects only 'local', no internet.  I researched this some, tried all the places with a parameter that can be a problem, but nothing helped.  What the hell did I miss?  The connection is good because it works on my desk, on which I write, as I said. To my knowledge, the hard disk the the wireless are not connected; or is it? Any help, the concrete steps that I take on my laptop, the settings themselves, would be greatly appreciated.

  Then download the latest version of the software for your printer from the "Support & drivers" link at the top of this page.  Run the software and choose 'Wireless' or 'network' when asked what type of installation you want.  Make sure that the USB cable is NOT connected when you start the software.

  Thanks for posting in the Microsoft answers Forum.  You have this laptop set up for a dual-boot?  I ask because sometimes you say you're in XP and Vista, sometimes.  I think your best course of action at this point is to run the System File Checker.  This scan system files and will repair or replace all you can find missing or damaged.  To do this under Vista:

  1. click on the ORB start

  2. click on all programs

  3. click on accessories

  4. right click on command prompt and then click Run as administrator

  5. type: sfc/scannow

  6 do not all messages that appear in the window.

  We hope to see SFC found and fixed the problems.  If you get another message or this does not solve the problem, please include the message, you get a description of the problem in your answer.

• I'm trying to get an 8500 a connected via the wireless, but it does not link to d-link dir-615 router.

  The printer connects to the same router through the wired port but will not get a valid address using the wireless.  The IP is 169.254.140.246 in the wireless network test report, although everything is named PASS
