Hi Joeboffo,

Thank you for writing to Microsoft Communities.

I understand how it could be frustrating when things do not work as expected. Please, I beg you, don't worry I'll try my best to resolve the issue.

Wireless networks appear only if your PC has a wireless network card installed, the adapter is turned on and the wireless access point is within reach. I suggest you try the steps from the following link:

You probably need to install some network drivers for your wireless card.

    Download drivers

Visit the manufacturer's Web site and select your computer model (this is usually done in the Support section). You should be able to download drivers for your model. Download the driver (s) and follow the instructions to install - every computer is different, so I can't give you exact directions. You can also try to use Windows Update to get drivers - it is located in the start menu.

  • Two years trying to get Toshiba laptop wireless connection works

I tried for two years to try and get the connection Wireless on my Toshiba laptop to work without much success. For a short period I managed to connect the laptop to a desktop computer's ad-hoc wireless and share the internet connection in this way but then it stopped working.

I have a Toshiba Satellite Pro U400 - 15L model no PSU45E-00J005EN. It is with the 12.1 "screen and running Windows XP Pro sp3.

My wireless switch on the front of the laptop is turned on. It is also activated in the software Fn F5 wireless enabled, disabled bluetooth. I don't have Intel ProSet.

Already when I was able to establish an ad hoc connection using microsofts software. I had to manually activate the Wireless Zero Configuration (WZC) whenever even if, as he always began with disabilities or order even if I set it to start automatically. It is a monumental PITA.

When I try and connect to the ADSL wireless router (Belkin N150) using the Toshiba Software, I get the message error "application from another provider is controlling the wireless adapter.

I get all the time, even though I turned off Microsoft Wireless Zero Configuration (WZC).

I thought that Windows controlled always somehow it even though I disabled WZC, so after reading solutions in other posts, that I tried to go...

    -> Control Panel-> network connections-> wireless-> properties-wireless networks tab > uncheck "use Windows to configure...". ».

But unfortunately there is not 'the wireless networks tab' in there, all I have is the other two tabs. And since trying to use Toshibas software to connect wireless using their Radar thing, now when I click the wireless network connection in there the message "Windows cannot configure this wireless connection. If you have enabled another program to configure this wireless connection, use that software. »

Can someone on the forum or using Toshiba please?

    Thank you

    John

Two years? Sorry, but I can't believe it.

If everything is Ok and I mean if there is no hardware problem you n t need more than two minutes for the WLAN configuration.

As a first step, you must be sure that the wireless network card is installed correctly (Device Manager).
Wireless network card must also be enabled correctly (switch > check FN + F8 > check ConfigFree tool).
When the wireless network card that it is correctly enabled scan (check the status of ConfigFree) the area with RADAR option in ConfigFree.
    You will find this option?
    You can scan the area?
Some WLAN is visible for your laptop?

    Hello

I found the same info as Tobi. Your device has no WLAN and you must use the PCMCIA WLAN card. I'm sure that with PCMCIA card you will receive the CD with driver and probably some WLAN client for WLAN configuration. You can also use the WLAN Windows settings.

  • How to set up a wireless connection between my computer windows 7 and my printer?

Laptop running windows 7 and HP wireless printer.

What printer wireless HP do you have?

Is the printer connected to your wireless network and online?

If so I just used the software provided from HP who asked me if I wanted to connect to a USB port or wireless router. I choose the option Wireless for my HP J4680 AiO device and the software installed the driver appropriate printer and other associated software, IE. Center solutions HP, etc and I could use my wireless printer.

Click here to download manuals updated, how - to, of, software, drivers, etc for your machine.

    http://welcome.HP.com/country/us/en/welcome-copy.html#support

If your printer is not connected to your network, you may need to set up a temporary ad hoc wireless between the printer and a PC. Once you do this, you can enter the printer wireless configuration pages and configure the SSID of the network, wireless, encryption type, encryption key, etc.. Also, FWIW, I have set my HP machine with a static IP address to make it easier for me to access any pages of any PC on my network config.

  • How can I set up a wireless connection to a lbtop without cd player

How can I configure a WiFi connection of my Photosmart C4380 to my Lenovo U350, Vista 32 bit without cd player?

    1. turn radio on wireless to the printer.
    2. on your notebook, open the list of wireless networks that you can connect to. You will see a network named "hpsetup". You will need to connect to this network. Ignore the security warnings and proceed with the connection.
    3. wait 1 minute after that. Then, print the printer network settings page. It must have an IP starting with 169.254. This means that the printer is connected.
    4. click on the Support link & drivers at the top of this page and download the drivers for the Photosmart C4385 and install it.

  • Set up a wireless connection.

I just got a laptop and I'm looking into getting a wireless router. My laptop is able to Wifi.

    My questions are:

1.) once I buy a router, do I have to pay monthly fees for internet service? Or once I purchase the router, I just automatically we Wi - Fi?

(2.) what is the best brand of the router to buy? Electronic navigation while several shops, I saw "Linksys" quite frequently, but noticed that he seemed to be on the cheaper end. I just don't know if there are different types of routers, or if a brand is better than the others.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

  • The HP DeskJet F4480 is set up for wireless printing?

    Hello

When I bought my F4480, I thought it was a wireless printer.  I currently have a desktop Mac Power PC G4 running Tiger (10.4.11) and a computer laptop windows XP Pro running. The printer is connected via USB to a Mac, and I tried to set up printing wireless on the laptop. After several hours of trying, googling and looking for the manual, I finally decided to post here.

Question 1 can we do? (if the answer is no, then "thank you" and I'll be on my way...)

Question 2 in the affirmative and who have already installed the necessary drivers on my laptop, what is the next step?

Sorry to be such a fool. Thanks in advance.

Series F4400 (including your part done F4480) has USB connectivity only.  The series F4500 has USB and wireless.

But, with the printer connected to your Mac, you can share printing works (but not scan) between the computers on your network.  To do this download and install Hello for Windows for your XP from here.  If your XP already has a version of Hello (installed by iTunes), uninstall before installing this version.

Run it and it will find the printer connected to your Mac.  Make sure that your Mac is enabled and that it is set to never sleep (System Preferences > energy saver).

  • I have recently reinstalled Windows 7 and now I have no option for wireless connection and wireless adapter is not (wireless connections do not show up when I go to set the new connection)

I recently installed Windows 7 on my PC, and now when I try to set up a new wireless connection, it's impossible. My plug-and-play wireless adapter is not recognized by the computer (but he did more earlier today before installing Windows 7). NETGEAR has the appeal of Microsoft, Microsoft refused to help me for less than 80 bucks, which I can't afford, after buying their product of GD.

So I was wondering if someone can help me? On my laptop when I go to the networks and together a new network, there is an option to set up a WIRELESS CONNECTION. Can someone help me please? I can't afford $ 80 to tell what drivers to download.

Thanks and + karma to one who can help me solve this problem.

Most often when a device does not work, it's because the driver has been corrupted.

    Try reinstalling your.

  • Tecra M5: Wireless connection is no longer working

I have a new Toshiba Tecra M5. I originally put in place to connect to my WAP Home/office with no problems. After using it in a place where no WAP was available and making the home, wireless connection"is not available" and I can't do so.

Additional information: I have two other systems connected to my WAP without any problem. I can connect the Toshiba to my home LAN via a cable without problems. I already rebooted the latest drivers and tried to re-establish a wireless connection completely new, without success.

Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

    Bob

    Hello

Looks you used Notepad in 2 different WLANs.
In my opinion, you should refresh the connection.
Go to the properties of WLan, and select the wireless networks tab.

Here, you can set the home WLAN on the preferred networks. This should be done if you have configured your WLan network as invisible. Also use the option View Wireless networks.
If your home WLan is not in the list, then you need to add the SID of WLan.

Usually the WAP encryption password must be redefined

  • Satellite 1130 set up an internet connection

I am trying to set up an internet connection on my laptop using a disc of wanadoo, and all I get is an error message saying cannot establish a connection. tried about 6 times in total and still does not connect. The computer modem works fine, the only thing I thought I could be was when I tried first there came over analog telephone lines and digital, I can't get this screen up to change.

Any ideas what could be wrong or how I can change the line defining?

    Post edited by: traceaphinea

    Hello

Internet provider wanadoo is not known to me, but if you use their software you should contact them. They should have enough experience with own products. Each laptop manufacturer is responsible for the operation of the equipment that must operate at will with pre-installed software. Other problems are different and you should try to clarify with the internet service providers.

I recommend to remove this software and try to set up the internet connection using the Windows settings. To configure the internet connection with modem is very simple and if you know this number and the password should not be any problem.

  • Could not get the internet/wireless connection after you installed new hard drive?

I have a HP Pavilion Entertainment PC (dv6736nr), Windows Vista laptop.  The hard drive crashed and I got a new installed.   I set up my wireless connection, even that is on the other 4 computers in this building (my desktop computer running win7 netbook win7 running 2 computers of the landlord, winVista running - they have comcast modem,? a good router) when I set up the wireless connection, it connects only 'local', no internet.  I researched this some, tried all the places with a parameter that can be a problem, but nothing helped.  What the hell did I miss?  The connection is good because it works on my desk, on which I write, as I said. To my knowledge, the hard disk the the wireless are not connected; or is it? Any help, the concrete steps that I take on my laptop, the settings themselves, would be greatly appreciated.

    Hello:

If your laptop computer is the Atheros wireless card, you probably just update the driver.

The symptoms you listed seem to indicate that is the problem.
