Types of ports FI

Hi all

I need to know the definition and USAGE (when I use each port) and the protocol used foreach types of port FI

1 - FC uplink port

Storage 2 - FC port

3 - port of uplink of FCoE

4 - storage port FCoE

5 port device

Thanks in advance

AMR

Hi Amr

1 - FC uplink port

connects FI with native fibrechannel to a north bound switch FC (Brocade, MDS, N5k)

Storage 2 - FC port

connects the FI fibrechannel native to a directly attached storage system

3 - port of uplink of FCoE

connects FI with native FCoE to a north bound FCoE switch (N7k, N5k)

4 - storage port FCoE

connects the native FI FCoE l to a storage system directly attached

5 port device

connects FI with a direct attached IP (iSCSI, NFS, CIFS) storage system

There is indeed a different port and then type "unified", by first creating an Ethernet connection on the same port uplink FCoE. This link will then transport you FCoE and IP traffic data.

    Hello.

There are two SATA ports on this picture that aren't like something I've never seen before: Red (SATA4) and black (SATA5) ones.  What kind of connector works with this kind of thing?  I tried the splined type 'L' and I do not see that it will work. Or maybe I'm missing something?

You can use one of these sata angle left to right sata cables.  It would apply either a left or right sata plug.

  • Spectrum of HP 13-v013tu: USB port not working not not the spectrum 13

Hello.  I bought the HP 13-v013tu a few months ago spectrum and in general the laptop works very well.  However, I noticed that 3 C type USB ports in the back, one of them do not work.  The USB port for the electrical connection to the right is fine, but the two in the Middle, one of them work.  Who does not work does not recognize or even to send power what it is connected (for example, the mobile phone, the external hard drive, load wireless mouse).

I checked the Device Manager and see nothing wrong in the USB options.  Even the option of power management to allow the computer to turn off the device has been disabled.

Can anyone help? Is this a hardware problem?

    Thank you.

USB - C for USB 3 adapter supplied with the laptop you are using? If it works in 2 of the three ports, then the logical conclusion is that the third part is bad. You can actually power the laptop of one of the Thunderbolt-C/USB ports (I have one of these laptops) in order to try in the port which is giving you issues and if he does not have the power, then you have a dead port which will require the replacement of the motherboard.

  • Satellite Pro M70: What USB 2.0 Port Replicator is compatible?

Would be grateful if someone could advise me on the purchase of a USB 2.0 port replicator.

I think the 3 USB 2.0 ports on my laptop Pro M70 are not enough, and that's why I want to buy a USB 2.0 Port Replicator.

The site of the Toshiba shop specifies USB 2.0 Port Replicator II (UK) with port network, part number: PX1173U-1PRP, price: 49,93 GBP.

It has 4 USB ports 2.0, which would give me a total of 6 USB 2.0 ports, which would be the absolute minimum I want. (It also has 2 PS/2 ports, 1 serial port RS232 and 1 USB 2.0 port network that takes in charge rates of 10 / 100 Mbps).

Can anyone tell if it is powered by the laptop, or by it's own adapter?

Unfortunately, the Web of Toshiba site has advised that it is currently out of stock and are difficult to get in on all the time, as they are the subject of a sort of "green manufacturing" test.

This prompted me to consider buying a replicator USB 2.0 ports alternative and all I would prefer one with more than 4 USB 2.0 ports, and in fact 6 or more USB 2.0 ports would be preferable. I'm not really interested in other types of ports that are often provided with the replicators of USB 2.0 ports.

I would be grateful if someone could recommend/Advisor at a replicator USB 2.0 ports alternative that would be compatible with my laptop Pro M70.

One of my concerns is how the port replicator USB 2.0 Port is powered. I think I would have preferred that the unit is powered by its own adapter, I understand is 5 Volts with 500 milliamps for each port, rather than to the laptop (probably would be less tax on the laptop, with less heating).

    Thank you
    AlanCB

I can't comment on the question whether the Replicator you mention has its own power source, although I suspect, he does

However, I have a satellite Pro M70 too and with a similar problem and wanting a hub to connect to all my external printers, Sandy etc using just one connection, I buy PA3390E-1MPM - a hub of Toshiba, Audio/USB multimedia center, which goes a step further and provides a hub not only for USB sources , but also for the speakers etc.

It has its own power supply to the unit and connects via USB 2.0 to my laptop. It is also stackable with the Toshiba Gigastore 250 GB USB 2.0 external hard drive (PA3392E-1MPS) which I also use for backups, storing external data etc.

Had the two units for 3 months now and everything works fine. I got headr of some problems with people in loss of access to the hard drive, but it seems that it was never if it has been disconnected by pulling the cord out usb, rather than make a ' Safely Remove Hardware to disconnect the USB device and so far have had no probs at all

It has 4 ports, more port network and connections from the speakers for the configurations 2/2.1/4/4.1/5.1 full, more Creative software like drivers, more remote control useful to control audio devices. Oh, and also a Surround sound, and EAX

Maybe a little more of your option, but worth it in my opinion. If you can't find it on the Toshiba site I have purchased from www.insight.com

    Hope that helps

  • Is the Satellite A200-10W supports a PCMCIA slot II type

I want to know if the side slot on the satellite A-200-10w is a PCMCIA type II port and if not, adapters external usb for the same thing?

    Hello Hari

Satellite A200-10W does not support PCMCIA location.
The A200 supports only the Express Card location that is placed on the left side for laptop.

    > I get external USB for the same (PCMCIA) adapters

Don t think so. I didn't see any USB key that would allow any PCMCIA interface.

But I rally don't know why you want to use a PCMCIA card if the Express card slot is available.
Using cards designed for Express card slot ;)

    Windows 7

    Hello

What port are you looking for?  If the post is not there, you need more likely to buy a PCI card with th port type you're looking for.  USB port should be available.  If you are looking for a different type of port, you need to add an additional PCI Express card.  In addition, please check the with OEM of the controller to check if the device is compatible Windows 7.  I suggest you contact th OEM for extra support.

  • Aspire Port mystery r5-571 (R15)

When upgrading my memory, I noticed a port that looks like a port of m2 but has only 4 pins on the right side instead of 5 pins I would wait for an m2 or a PCI Express port, at least I know. • Port forwarding on several computers

Hi I just bought a Wireless Linksys WAG325N router. I usually about 2-3 machines on my network WIFI and I'd like to enable the port forwarding for each of them on a particular port. It is easy to do for a single exact machine - simply type the port number and IP of the computer to the configuration - but the problem is - I would do it for each other: example: enable the port forwarding XXXX for 192.168.1.100, 101 and 102. Help, please? Thank you in advance.

It is the application load in a sense. You can change the assignment of external ports to resolve the correct internal port on each machine.

Say for example using rdp that uses (port/protocol) tcp/3389 (RDP client) application actually allows you to change the external port to connect to, if you specify after the investigation period. If for example say we have rdp access to all 3 computers in the outside world. We can configure the port forwarding on every computer

(Computers)      (internal IP addressort)            (External IP/port)

    COMP A 192.168.0.5:3389 203.x.y.z:3389

    Model B 192.168.0.10:3389 203.x.y.z:3390

    Model C 192.168.0.15:3389 203.x.y.z:3391

It is the purpose of a router to create routing tables.

Of course, you will need to remember which ports are assigned to which device.

It is certainly dependent on the application. Find out if your application or service supports changing the port, ftp, rdp clients, tftp, ssh all do... Most of the 'Good' services are, as those who built it were considered in a NAT environment.

    NAT network address translation =

Most of the things if not at the level of the applications, services even in windows are tweakable via the registry. I wouldn't say that that if you don't have experience relavent. You potentially make your workstation unusable if you're wrong.

    I hope this helps.

  • Errors of run Switchport Port-Security

So I'm a bit new to switchport security.  I work on most of the ports in one location.  Its ports where I either switchport voice and switchport access VLAN or just switchport voice VLAN.  For some reason, these types of ports going into err - disable.  Here are a few examples.  Indications as to why it would stop even when I have the right MAC address would be very useful. Interface Fa0/3 has a phone attached to it and a connected computer the phone is off.

    interface FastEthernet0/2
    Description Table phone
    switchport mode access
    switchport voice vlan 2
    switchport port-security
    security violation restrict port switchport
    switchport port-security-address mac 34a8.4ea6.0f95
    spanning tree portfast

    interface FastEthernet0/3

    spanning tree portfast

    2 442b.031a.2975 DYNAMICS Fa0/3

    2 34a8.4ea6.0f95 DYNAMICS Fa0/2

The newspaper says this whenever I turn on port security.  Any other port where there is only 1 VLAN or 1 device, it works fine no problem.

27 June 2015 23:59:56: % PORT_SECURITY-2-PSECURE_VIOLATION: security breach took place, caused by MAC address 34a8.4ea6.0f95 on port FastEthernet0/2.

    June 28, 2015 00:00:02: % LINEPROTO-5-UPDOWN: Line protocol on Interface FastEthernet0/3, changed state down
    June 28, 2015 00:00:03: % LINK-3-UPDOWN: Interface FastEthernet0/3, changed State to down

I know I'm missing something because I am new to using switchport security.  I am wanting to lock the ports to prevent devices not allowed to plug in on my network.  I have disabled all DHCP, but I want to take a little further and prevent them to enter the network even and probe the network.

EDIT - You forgot to mention that it is a 2960 version 15.0 (2) SE5

    Thank you

    David

    David, Kevin,

    Let me join you.

The way I see the Fa0/2 work with its original configuration is:

    • The maximum number of secure MAC addresses is 1.
    • Access to the VIRTUAL LAN is 1, the voice VLAN is 2.
    • The static safe MAC address 34a8.4ea6.0f95 is added to the access VLAN, not to the voice VLAN
    • When the phone starts to make known by the voice VLAN, MAC address cannot be dynamically added to the list because the maximum allowed number of MAC secure is 1 and the list is already full. The fact that its MAC address is configured statically is irrelevant, because it is not associated with the voice VLAN.

    Try to delete the line

    switchport port-security-address mac 34a8.4ea6.0f95

    and replace with

voice of vlan switchport port-security-address mac 34a8.4ea6.0f95

and see if it solves the problem.

    Best regards
    Peter
