UAC prompt

Vista Home Premium SP2

I posted this question earlier. Solution has yet to be found.
I have 2 accounts admin
One is the high who is my ACCT of emergency.
The other is my Admin account which I use every day. In the past, quite some time in the past, when I was invited by uac, all I had to do was click on 'Yes' or 'continue '.
No more. Now, I have to enter my password.
As noted, it has been for some time. So forget system restore.
I had done some sfc since then and report has always been: 'no violation '.
The disk check had also made a couple of times. Finally a (chkdsk/f/r) has achieved 2 weeks ago. There is no problem.
I would, for the sake of convenience only, click "Continue" to enter my password.
Any ideas? Thank you.

  • Why my network connection properties do not show more UAC prompt?

I can't put my connection properties more. In network & sharing center when I rightclick > properties on the connection interface, it shows no UAC prompt. I have disable Netbios over Tcp/ip, but every time that I connect it changes to default (enable netbios..). I'm the only Admin with 2 profiles on my personal laptop without connection (wired / wireless, office, etc.) of local network either. Earlier, the same connection worked fine with the settings 'disable netbios. I tried to create the new connection (same ISP, USB 3 G dongle), reinstalled the drivers of network cards, deleted the old connections, but the problem persists. I can't set my connection properties!

I noticed most of my local network/Services have a profile not attached with long unknown password. New connections I make in a user profile does not show in my another user profile, it wasn't like that before. I want to know the default TCP/IP registry, in particular Linkage, Bind, export etc if this may be the reason. (Values in HKLM/System/CurrentControlSet/Services/Tcpip/liaison & Interfaces examples / by default). Of course the values may differ in each machine, but I want to have an idea.
Finally, I would like to see some improvements in security in the next editions of windows. UAC never warn you when some outsider load .reg hives or changes to the settings, it annoys only his own user/admin. Our firewall is open for the subnet Local in the discovery rule of the network for the network private by default, assuming that we are all connected to the cable network of offices. There is also two versions of the firewall for home users specific & businesses users. It is impossible to uninstall a Service it it gets corrupted or protect the process svchost.exe/legit if someone hacks. Coz anti-virus software fails to catch the thieves hidden legitimate process. UPnP, printer ports, of the discovery of the network are all known loopholes in windows firewall forget remote things. If someone makes an unknown connection to my PC something must warn me at least. With fast connections to today I don't think that any Messenger needs firewall exceptions. It is unclear what programs/services the firewall knows & blocks ("all programs/services that meet the criteria"), it should be editable to all net database using software/services, which can be exploited by the bad guys. I don't see any logic in the purchase of an operating system, then buy a firewall too, it should meet. Also a protection tool for our vulnerable register which is originally from the success of a rival to round shape & red/green color used to make a pie & a big city is named after it. :-)

    Hi, Maria Teresa K,.
Thanks for the reply with some good suggestions & I love your header "Refreshing Office & opening word doc", operations, sometimes even what is more difficult and more complex are easier in windows.
-Very well, it was related to administrative privileges removed by a hacker or my ISP. As I've seen Undocked profiles with long password in most Network Services & Local such as RPC, BFE.
I wasn't starting in safe mode with networking (press F8 at startup), then then ran mode Directory Services repair as well. Finally called my ISP was no Sim Card of my 3G dongle. is CHANGED!
Then as a last solution, I have my Dialer app right click & he ran as administrator. This time I could see UAC prompt while clicking network map & could set the connection properties.
You were right about my two profiles being Admin & it took place in both, so they used netuser thing (that infamous Director of integrated hidden a/c. which is not known by the users but is well exploited by hackers). I saw this profile sunflower photo in my profile %-appdata-temp folder, I use different images for my two profiles. Also, someone wrote to Parvdm port I checked later, I don't have any printer at all, so this hack port printer & file and printer sharing is the culprit. Anyway now it seems fine, only this soft dialer privilege token is set, then run it as administrator, it's funny that I am the admin.
Yes, I ran several system restores but this intrusion is older that my restore point limit, yet once no way to keep/save our best Point restaurant forever. Not sure/easy way to fix a corrupted user profile, to copy all in a new, most of the software refused to work, a lot of customization needs to be redone. This change of name ntuser.dat is too scary, what happens if I can not log on later, I had a nightmare with LogonUI.exe when I applied a 3rd party desktop theme shit earlier, I had to reinstall windows. So start, logging on things that I dread, all must keep a portable external drive with windows & its profiles.
Now, I read & know using Standard user instead of administrator has a/c. for browsing the net, but this theory does not work in practice so many apps to keep updated/re-installing 5.0.6.1 versions each week, and many apps produce UAC guests. Half my time wasting on typing Admin password in the profile Standard exposed, much easier for keyloggers to record it & then secondary logon also runs with remote registry, management of firewall remotely etc. OK, they are not checked in my Public network, but they are in the list of the firewall exceptions for can not show WARNING!
    My current problem is solved, but I insist on these few things to develop;
    (a) a separate tool for the Protection of the independent record.
    (b) with HKLM and HKCU a separate HKLW & HKCW for Windows registry keys that is Unchangeable no matter what. To do this, future apps should be as portable as possible.
    (c) more intelligent firewall multimode, antivirus, recovery tools built in, checked the IP range for windows updates/upgrade. Services and process manager.
    (d) the names of files dynamic with static virtual names for the same. Password for any whole folder/usb/removable/external drive.
    (e) all the hidden info, exposed in detail to the owners of the OS, not for some professionals, don't worry not bad know all this, so why hide from users. for example, I don't like the unknown password in BFE service responsible for firewall, if it is managed by others, then what am I doing here! In order to better help files offline if you please.
    (f) all stay is discussed by experts revered worldwide.

  • How to hide the accounts on the Welcome screen, but not on UAC prompt

    Running Vista Ultimate

I created several standard users and multiple administrative accounts of the different members of the family to use.  I want them all to use their standard user account when connecting, but when UAC prompts elevated privileges, I want whether they are able to choose their administrative account.

How can I hide the account on the Welcome screen, but allow it to be used in the UAC prompt?

I found how to hide using the hklm\software\microsoft\windowsnt\currentversion\winlogon\specialaccounts\..., reg key but he's hiding of uac as well.

    Hello

It's not exactly what you were asking that you however maybe it will get enough to do what you need to close.

You should always let a no hidden Admin account and I would leave two, one that is total unused
except for testing and other fastening. Also be sure to check the 'related links' on these pages.

  • How would a UAC prompt enter information identification of the administrator on the programs and the elements of the control panel of my choice? [Windows 7 Ultimate]

I'm working on setting up a guest account on a Windows 7 PC I have. I was fiddling around in local security and group policy strategy to try to make an account secure, but limited on this PC. I understood how to fill most of the policies I want to apply to this account, but have not been able to find one for policy, as I said in the title. I want to make is that if a program or a component of the Panel tries to be executed, I wish a UAC popup prompt. However, I wouldn't that happen with all the programs and items in Control Panel, only some of them. I found how to block programs and settings panel of current or well configured, but I want some of them to run on the base if admin credentials are entered. Any help is greatly appreciated!

Not really - they would not be able to get there. For most of the policies, your policy will be either hide the option completely (they'd never see even the ability to click on at all), or he would tell them he was disabled by policy and their only option is to click on 'OK '.  This is because UAC is not designed as a way to temporarily lift a policy - it is designed as a way to prevent a user (or more exactly, a running program using the security context of the user) to escape from their Bishop model and causing changes to files or registry keys that are not directly for them (their own key to personal registry or a file folder).

  • How do I see what changes, UAC prompts all?

When I run shareware or a program downloaded recently, I worry about what "changes" or UAC is prompting action.

For example: Pixeur selector of color (http://www.veign.com/application.php?appid=107)
I don't expect really a pipette to give me the UAC guests - but it does. However when I look at the UAC dialog for more details, he said only program location - no details about what is tyring to do.
Given that the 'changes' or 'actions' of the program are what UAC alert me, I am concerned and want to know EXACTLY WHAT CHANGES or ACTIONS the program is trying to do, so I can confirm their.
The UAC dialog box does not appear to be any information whatsoever?  I have to guess blindly, without knowing / being able to choose what I agree to?
It's like a legal contract I don't get see first?
    ?????????????????????????????
Why hell Microsoft choose to scare & alarm me, like that, without giving me any visibility or details - so I can make an informed choice.

I paid money for Windows 7, I thought that the days of Vista garbage exceeded & I finally have a decent OS.
I paid money for Windows 7, I thought that the days of Vista garbage exceeded & I finally have a decent OS.

We will calm down a bit and consider this:

    • UAC is designed to prevent programs that are not allowed to do risky things behind your back.
    • Attempts to create or modify files in the files system is considered to be risky.
    • It is also risky to attempt to change the registry.
It's as simple as that. If the color of pixeur selector keeps generating warnings of the UAC, then you have three options:
-To obtain a compatible version of Windows 7.
-Check the FAQ to know how to bypass the problem.
    -Disable the UAC (not recommended).

  • UAC prompted on the login screen

    Hi all

I've seen several posts on the user invited on the login screen. There are also several suggestions how to get rid of the account, so far I had no chance to delete the account of user invited to my login screen.

I bought a brand new MBP and migrated all of my old Mac Mini to the new MBP. The guest user account was NOT visible on the Mac Mini.

Here's what I've tried so far:

    • Checked 'Find my Mac' is NOT enabled
    • Guest user account is set to 'Off' under users and groups
    • A ran a script that I found in an older post in the Terminal

None of the things above removed the user invited to my login screen.

It's all solid fix how to get rid of the guest user?

    Thank you!!

You said "guest user account is set to off in users and groups.

Do you mean that the guest user account is always accessible in the ordinary journal?

    Also-

When you are in users and groups - you by clicking on the lock - and enter your password to make changes?

If so - you should be able to simply remove the account of guys using the sign minus (-) sign at the bottom of the box

    Hi all

I can't copy and paste text from Notepad into the password field to the UAC prompt when we try to run or install any application by using the run as option administrator, on some machines in the domain. The strange thing is that the other machines in the domain do not have this problem. I checked the setting of the UAC on both machines and they are the same. I also made sure that GPO settings under "computer configuration > windows settings > security settings > local policies > options' security are the same."

Pourrait - what it has to do anything with MIC (message integrity check) and UIPI (user interface privilege isolation)?

I am trying to solve this with procmon and procexp but totally lost.

From my experience with UAC, it prevents new processes start

UAC blocks only 2/3 of the virus, so it is possible that he let a virus on your system.

  • stupid question about UAC

OK, it's a REALLY stupid question about UAC.

I have several icons on my desktop. Some of them are games that must be run as administrator in XP compatibility mode.

I rarely accidentally tried to open the icon, particularly if you use the keyboard to choose what I want.

Is there a reason if I accidentally open a game that pushes me in height DO NOT hit 'Cancel' if I didn't intend to play the game at the moment, but trying to open something else? Something like a process being left in suspense, memory leaks, or any other reason why I can't Abort to launch the application to the UAC prompt?

    Hey, Slick,

Clicking Cancel will prevent the running total process if you do not have to worry about the still ongoing services for memory leaks or game, etc..
    I hope this helps.
