  • Unable to connect the WD external hard drive

I hope that I haven't lost 4 years of work?

I am not connected to the internet at home and only go on the net to my library

    Hi John,

Thanks for the post. I understand that you are unable to connect the WD external drive.

I imagine the inconvenience that you are experiencing. I will definitely help you with this.

To help you suggest several steps to solve the problem, I would appreciate it if you could answer the following questions:

    1. you receive an error code or message?

    2. have you made any recent hardware or exchange of software on your computer before the show?

3 have you tried to connect the external hard drive on another USB port?

Please follow the methods and mark the question below:

    Method 1:

I suggest you to run the Microsoft Fix It from the link below.

Hardware devices do not work or are not detected in Windows:

    http://support.Microsoft.com/mats/hardware_device_problems/en-us

    Method 2:

Uninstall and reinstall the USB drivers.

You can check after uninstalling and reinstalling USB drivers if you are able to connect. You can disconnect all USB devices and then perform the following steps:

    a. Click Start and then click Control Panel.

    b. click System and Maintenance, click System and then click on Device Manager.

Note: If the control panel is in Classic view, double-click System, and then click Device Manager.

If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password, or click on allow.

    c. in the Device Manager, double-click to expand the "USB Bus controllers", right click on the controller host, click "Uninstall" and click "OK".

Check that if at all, there is an exclamation point on the pilot, it suggests problems with the installed driver.

    d. Repeat step 2 to uninstall all items under 'USB Bus controllers'.

Then, restart your computer and Windows will automatically reinstall all USB controllers.

Note: Connect USB devices to the computer once the drivers of conflict are uninstalled, and once the computer is restarted.

If you are still having the same problem then you can check the device USB drivers updated using windows update.

  • Unable to connect WD My Passport to Windows 8 Tablet

I've seen a number of messages on the same issue, but using the proposed solutions does not help.

I have a WD My Passport (1 to) that I have connected to my very old desktop PC running Windows XP.  I backed up a DVD to watch on my Tablet (ASUS Vivo tab running Windows 8).  When I connect the WD My Passport to the Tablet, the light starts to blink and automatically download the WD Store application.  However, when I open the app, it says no device of funded by WD is connected.  The WD My Passport shows under devices, but not on the classic desktop when I try and view the devices - only my C drive and my SD card connected.

I tried running the two Hardware Troubleshooter (no solution) and cannot see the device when you use either disk management, so can not give her a letter.

In addition, it seems that I have the updated driver.

The device connects perfectly to my desktop PC, so I don't see why it will not connect to my tablet.

    Any help is highly appreciated!

Hi, I hope someone here can help me.

I'm playing Ether Saga Online on my laptop Toshiba (SATELLITE P300 16 t) and it installs fine but it won't let me connect to their servers. I have messaged their technical support staff first, I sent them all kinds of newspapers, they asked, but we have not been able to find a solution. I tried uninstalling the game and reinstalling, disabling my antivirus completely and I am now convinced, it's something to do with the laptop, or maybe Windows Vista (32 bit). The game runs well on a manufacturing another laptop but also Vista, 32 bit is not my connection.

I don't really know what it could be. Someone at - it suggestions?

  • Unable to connect to WIFI after upgrade windows 8.1

    Hello

I fortunately was connection to my wifi at home last night before my HP Pavilion notebook updated to windows 8.1 g7. Now, I can only connect via ethernet cable.

I called Microsoft Support and I was told that my wifi driver was outdated and must be reinstalled. I had a look at downloads available for the network drivers, but I'm not sure how to establish that that I need... There are 4 options.

In the Device Manager > network adapters, it there was only one pilot who needed according to this update. The Realtek PCle FE Family controller. When I checked the updates here is said that it was updated successfully, but I am STILL unable to connect to the internet.

Microsoft say it is a problem of HP, not them. Help, please.

    Thank you

    Hello

My suggestion: using Device Manager to uninstall the Wireless driver and reboot the machine. Machine should say new hardware installed and find the good jerking for you OR you can download driver Realtek (wireless) from the above link and reinstall it.

    Kind regards.

The problem occurs when you perform a Wizard for easy transfer to a computer that was Symantec Endpoint Protection installed to one without him.

    Answer, copypasted:

Inspect the key mentioned above - that is of HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\services\RasMan\PPP\EAP.

In each of the number keys look something like ConfigPathBackup and its corresponding ConfigPath - there are a number of them.

For each, I deleted the original key (e.g., ConfigPath) and restored the original by renaming ConfigPathBackup to ConfigPath

For each of them, the State is now restored to her pre State Symantec - each key pointed to a Symantec location that is no longer present and by restoring the path key backs up everything was fine

  • Unable to connect the earpiece/headset Bluetooth

    Original title: Bluetooth device

    Hello

I use a computer windows 7 dell laptop and having succumbed to my last 10 attempts to connect my sony with her bluetooth headset. Also, I went through all the links of responses provided by the site. I also downloaded the software device for her drive. The laptop also shows my SonyBTH under "Devices and Printers". But I'm still not able to connect my SonyBTH even after clicking on the indicated device.

Please kindly help me with this problem.

    Anyone?

    Thank you

    Afonso Rajalim

    Hi Afonso,

Thanks for posting your query in Microsoft Community.

    I understand that you are unable to connect SonyBTH to the Windows 7 machine and I appreciate the efforts made in the patches that you tried. Let me ask you;

    • Have you been able to connect to the same SonyBTH in the past?
    • Remember to no particular change in the computer before the show?
    • What security software is installed on the computer?
    • What is the model number of your Dell computer?

There could be several reasons for this cause and diagnose the problem, we will try these steps and check.

Step 1: Make sure that Windows is configured to accept incoming Bluetooth connections.

You can check the compatible devices Bluetooth configuration panel. Here's how:

    1. Click the Start button, select Control Panel, click hardware and sound, and then click Bluetooth devices.
    2. Click the Options tab, select the allow the devices to connect to this computer check box, and then click OK.

Step 2: Remove and then reinstall the device:

    1. click the Start button, select Control Panel, click hardware and soundand then click Bluetooth devices.

2 Select the device that is not working, and then click Remove.

    3. click on Add, press the reset button on the unit (or make it discoverable following the manufacturer's instructions), check the box my device is set up and ready to be found and then click Next.

    4. If the device is not found, repeat the previous step. When the device is found, select it, and then click Next.

    5. follow the remaining instructions in the wizard.

    · Make sure that the device is on and that the batteries should be replaced.

    · Make sure that the Bluetooth adapter for your computer is attached and turned on, and that the device is in use and detectable. If you don't know how to turn on discoverability, read the instructions provided with the device or check the manufacturer's Web site.

Solving problems with Bluetooth devices compatible (applicable to Windows 7 as well)

Hope this information is useful. Please feel free to answer in the case where you are facing in the future other problems with Windows.

    64-bit Windows 7

    Hello

    Method 1:
Try saving the file in safe mode with network.
    Reference:

Method 2: Temporarily disable the antivirus software and see if that helps.
    Reference:
Important note: Antivirus software can help protect your computer against viruses and other security threats. In most cases, you should not disable your antivirus software. If you need to disable temporarily to install other software, you must reactivate as soon as you are finished. If you are connected to the Internet or a network, while your antivirus software is disabled, your computer is vulnerable to attacks.
