Unable to connect to 12 c db running on Linux VM in Windows using InstantClient

Hello friends,

I have installed full (standard) db Oracle 12 c successfully under Oracle's Linux, that works as a virtual machine on VirtualBox hosted on my Windows 7 laptop. I am a newbie in Oracle install but am developer PL/SQL for a long time. This installation of db oracle 12 c is for my purposes / learning practice.

In any case, I got the 12 c running successfully. Listening port is tuned to the db with success. I can connect using sqlplus with success, but ONLY the machine virtual linux. I can't connect from Windows hard drive (I'm a long time of TOAD for oracle user so I will try to connect to the db using InstantClient v12.1). However, after trying several things that I can't connect from the TOAD/Windows/InstantClient DB running inside the virtual machine.

I allowed deck connection on the virtual machine and has assigned a static (on my router) LAN IP for the virtual machine as 10.0.0.25. My Windows laptop also has a static IP assigned 10.0.0.8 LAN. And I know for sure I can connect the laptop to a web server running on the Linux VM (I have a Docker for Joomla container running inside the virtual machine and can connect to it from my Windows side). And I also added port 1521 in the public/open the port in the firewall... so I don't think that it is a firewall issue.

However, when I look at the TNS listener logs (/ home/avik/app/oracle/diag/tnslsnr/localhost/listener/alert/log.xml) I see it coming when I try on the side Windows any application.

(Sidenote - the combo of Toad-Instant Client works very well because I also have a XE 11 db g installed on my side Windows and can connect to a test on this XE db schema)

Here are the details of my installation/server database of 12 c:

IP address of the server: 10.0.0.25

SID: orcl

The global database name: orcl.localdomain

host name (when the hostname command is run under Linux): localhost.localdomain

I tried different ways to connect and failed each time. TOAD diagnosed connectivity issues and suggests a few things and I fixed them (such as adding an with the location of the tnsnames.ora TNS_ADMIN environment variable).

Currently my tnsnames.ora has this article:

I tried direct connection (see Fig 1 with parameters) as well by using the TNS names (I think I saw somewhere, so that research on what TNS names will no longer work with Instant Client 12... but I'm not sure). But I always have time. It's as if the listener is not even get all the connections. I probably make a rookie mistake. Any kind soul can help me solve my connectivity problem?

Sorry do not provide any error message earlier - basically I was getting error timeout TNS.

In any case, I've now got to work - while using the bridge connection, which is my preferred method because I intend to bring this virtual machine to another machine (my QNAP NAS server).

After several days I finally understood the question. Isn't that the listener was listening only on localhost. He could listen to the outbound connections. After using Wireshark to analysis packages and many other trials and errors of this and that, I realized that the Oracle Linux firewall blocking incoming connections on the server. But the strange thing is that I had made an exception in the firewall for the port 1521. And even weirder thing was that on repeated reboot of the server, most of the time my connection was not working (I started using a barebones way to connect - using sqlplus on my windows instead of TOAD) but from time to time without doing anything on the server or touch one thing, I have to work from time to time. So I thought that maybe the startup process was not done to load everything... but most of the time it would not work even after waiting for more than 7-8 minutes after the start and the connection. Eventually, I discovered that the firewall was the issue and all I had to do was to reload the firewall settings which loads the permanent settings (saved), using the following command:
sudo firewall-cmd - reload

So this was a quirk of the Oracle Linux (I guess really Red Hat Linux and Oracle Linux is a fork of). After I checked it was the issue, I put it in a startup script and now I have no problem.

You used port 70 for the node of the database layer, so you will need to use the same port pool (70 instead of 80) when running "perl adcfgclone.pl appsTier.

Unable to connect to the Internet after running COMBOFIX

Under XP. After running ComboFix to remove the "rootkit" virus"that wiped out AVG and some windows updates, I got online and downloaded AVG free 2012 and windows update. Everything seemed fine and I shut down the computer for the nite. Next day morning... can't get online! When I try to connect it says "acquiring network address"... Help!

I find the DHCP client. It is not "STARTED". I got it started and restarted. Then, I went to the guest of cmd and tried to reset the TCP/IP stack. Should not the command netsh int ip reset c:\resetlog.txt suggested... Unable to connect to the desktop computer running Windows 7 laptop running Windows 7, both in my home network, using remote desktop

My desktop (host) is running Win7 Pro and my (client) laptop is running Win 7 Home Premium. For the office, I went to the control panel and allows remote connections. When I try to connect with the laptop in my same home network, I get an error message: Remote Desktop cannot connect to the remote computer you for one of the following reasons:

(1) remote access to the server is not enabled

(2) the remote computer is disabled

(3) the remote computer is not available on the network

Now, the computer is on and I can see what he listed as one of my computers on network. In fact, I accessed the command of remote desktop by right-clicking on the desktop in the list of networks and by selecting Remote Desktop in the menu dropdown.

Obviously, I am missing something or something wrong. Please help me to understand.

What do you call the remote [DRC] host desktop desktop machine, IE. local LAN IP static, the laptop?

Apex 4.2.5 upgrade - unable to connect to the database to run

Hi, did a new install of XE 11 G on Windows Server 2008 (32-bit) - all series of fine and can connect to the installation by dΘfaut of Apex etc..
No other software not installed on server, Oracle in fact no other software at all as it is freshly built.
Trying to connect the database with SQPLUS to run the installation script fails with ORA-12154 error.
I think that the status of the listener seems OK. The instance "xe", State LOAN, 1 operation for this service...
Really confused as did exactly the same set up on my laptop Windows 7 and a hosted virtual server (in fact 2008 R2 64) and two absolutely beautiful work...
Any ideas?

OK solved this... Windows problem, but I don't know what. Automatic updates were turns off so decided to let the server itself up-to-date patch while watching in this... one of the patches installed seems to fix the problem, which I do not know if.

Unable to connect to the Internet or run antivirus software

I'm not one capable of accessing any site despite having access to the Internet. (the only exception since this happened is responsible partial versions of web pages that I had already gone).

The anti-virus program that I use is Avast. Avast does not work as well say that "service stopped", but I can press start to continue. (I recently updated Avast, so I am confident, that it is not only to have an update).

Finally, my computer usually saves restore points, but available the most recent restore point is only from 6 days before (it is the day I updated my Avast).

Are they related? There are solutions that do not involve getting on the Internet since the infected computer?

Under windows XP, btw.

Looks like a problem caused by your Avast upgrade to a new version of the program.

You may need to uninstall/reinstall Avast to include with their removal tool.

Unable to connect to the internet after getting an update from Microsoft, Windows Vista Help

After getting an update Microsoft my computer will connect is the internet. All services are disabled. I didn't get the updates and restarted my computer. How can I get services running again. When I did an IPCONFIG command output and renew it says RPC server is unavailable.

Remove the Vista updates; two ways to do this:

1. a System Restore to before the updates:

Click Start > programs > Accessories > system tools > System Restore > restore time/choose your own date > next

If you use Norton, disable it before using the system restore.

If it is impossible to enter the Normal Mode, do a Safe Mode system restore:

Press F8 at the startup/power and the list of startup options, use THE ARROW key to select Safe mode > and then press ENTER.

System restore steps according to the info above.

Unable to connect to host: SQL Developer in Virtualbox:linux:oracle

Hope this is the right place to ask this question - since his post installation problem.
I'm very happy because I just installed yesterday manually Oracle Linux 6.5 and Oracle 11 GR 2 on a Virtualbox VM. Ive put the point for a long time but either in the oracle of banks already installed Linux in DBA or home installation of Oracle on windows. Today, after the typical small things missing after starting the VM as:
-lack of vars env; Oracle ADF for path;
-sqlplus / as sysdba returned instance inactive, so I started OK with SQL > startup
-also unlocked HR account and under linux has been able to connect to sqlplus h/h
Now I'm trying to achieve the 2 following things after you start the virtual machine linux/oracle again today:
1. connect to vm host windows 7 oracle sql developer for my db oracle Linux.
2 business manager access to the browser in my host of windows 7. Yesterday, just after the installation of oracle finishing I could, just need to open port firewall linux 1158 and https://192.168.1.71:1158 / em Open ok. But today, after that it seems some process to start vm does not work... cause I can't get em either inside the virtual machine, nor my host locally.

In my oracle sql developer im trying the following parameters:

User name: sys

Password: oracle

Connection type: fundamental Role: SYSDBA

HostName: 192.168.1.71

Port: 1521

SID: orcl

and im getting the error when I click on the Test button:

Status: Failure-Test failed: entry IO error: the network adapter could not establish the connection.

Please let me know what orders/information you need to help me. Im sure im close to after so many steps to learn how to install and able to do the installation of oracle on linux in a virtualbox im really looking forward to complete this exercise, thank you very much for your help.

Your listener is the list on "localhost" (127.0.0.1 ip address) that the universal loopback address. No request to this address never let the customer request. Your virtual computer must have a fixed IP address, and the listener must be listening on this fixed IP address

OS: Win XP SP3 (hardware is 64-bit capable... just running a 32-bit operating system for compatibility business app... ugh)

I am running tomcat on my guest OS and connect via browser (IE 8/FF3.6.3) host operating system. I can't get the correct configuration at all. I tried NAT modes and bridge and doesn't seem to work. I tried VMware Player 2.5 and the last 3, but I can't hit my tomcat instance. I can access it from inside the virtual machine without any problem, so I know that my tomcat is running.
Any help on where to start is appreciated.
NAT mode worked fine on my old (also 64 bit) CentOS5 VM a year ago but I do not have access to this virtual machine more.

Disable all firewalls on the client and the host.

Turn off TCP Chimney on the host:
1. HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\TCPIP\Parameters\DisableTaskOffload
Set this value to 1 disables all unloading task since the TCP/IP transport protocol. Set this value to zero allows all unloading task.

Unable to connect to the second Pc (WinXP) after lapop upgraded to Windows 7

I had the DVD of Windows 7 Ultimate free upgrade and installed successfully.

All programs work, able to connect to the internet, no problems.

Network home (Workgroup) defined and was available via before Vista upgrade to Windows 7.
I mean available able to see that both computers defined in the task force of each machine.

After the upgrade Windows 7 does not show the other machine and screw-a-to-a.

Settings network checked and everything seems OK.

Suggestions and advice appreciated.

Wireless network problem unable to connect to Kodak ESP7 All In One Printer wireless. Windows 7

Hi close baldy headed by trying to connect a Kodak ESP7 printer all-in-one wireless. The printer itself recognizes the wireless connection which is excellent but the does'nt of the computer. Whenever I try and print something an error message printer does not. I tried resetting the wireless router, is returned at the beginning and installed the software again, but no luck. I am on Windows 7 and the other 2 laptops that I have in the end work from home. Could someone tell me if I'm missing something simple, or would it be a problem with the printer itself. Thank you

Configure the primter with a static IP address to connect diretly to the router (read the printer manual).

Then using the Kodak software, install the printer driver and utility management, on each computer that requires to for use.

Running a file IS in Windows using DBMS_SCHEDULER
My Oracle db is on a Windows machine, and I try to call a file BACK BAT using DBMS_SCHEDULER

I am new to Oracle, but the code that I have worked so far is:

And I have permission to CREATE a TASK EXTERNAL to my user.

The test BAT file I call deletes all just another file (just to prove the concept that I can actually run the BAT file). The code above seems to work very well (with SQL Developer) but the BAT file doesn't seem to actually do anything. If I run the BAT file manually (by double-clicking), it removes the target file. But where through Oracle he never did.

If I change the name of test.bat in the code above into a file that does not exist, I get an error - prove that at least Oracle is to find the BAT file.

Any ideas? Anyone got something similar to work on a Windows machine?

Given iTunes 12.1.3 is the minimum requirement for iOS 9 I'm not altogether surprised that 12.0.1 does not work for you.

5901tw flow 8: [Please help] unable to connect to 4G network card, driver missing HUAWEI Mobile Broadband Module

Hi all

I just bought 8 streams HP 5901tw 4 days ago, yesterday, after internet connection using my card of 4G (WWAN driver) in my Tablet 8 Stream, suddenly the internet connection dropped and I lost my 4 G network card. I don't know why it happens by itself. But for connection Wifi still works well and wifi interface is always detected in network adapter but 4G is missing from the list.

In Device Manager I see list of pilot missing in other devices-> HUAWEI Broadband Driver Module is missing from my Windows with Bing 32 bit OS 8.1. I try to find the driver through windows update, website of hp or other sources, but is not found. I also tried to update the BIOS firmware to the latest version and upgrade of such software firmware driver LAN, etc. from the HP Web site, but still can not fix missing pilot of the HUAWEI Module of high speed.

I also try reboot several times, making recovery, but still having lack of driver for HUAWEI ADSL Module.

Last effort, I try to current level Windows 8.1 to Windows 10, but still no conclusion success lack driver HUAWEI or fixing my 4G network missing question.

Now I can still connect to the internet with my 4 G card more every trip.

Someone there solution and how is address/where to download those missing 4 G network driver (HUAWEI ADSL Module) 8.1 for Windows or Windows 10 HP 5901tw 8 streaming?

Really appreciate for any help and answer including HP support.

It's really annoying to have this problem and get stuck without a solution. I just enjoy this new Tablet HP for 2 days and now unable to connect to the 4G network more.

I finally found the problem with the HUAWEI ADSL Module in my stream 8 HP (after 2 days of sleep trying to install and uninstall the driver and try all options).

It seems maybe some Windows Update or a driver is trying to change the firmware inside the card top debit MOBILE HUAWEI to download mode (VID:12 d 1 PID:1568), so it can't use any driver installed in point 8.1 of Windows.

I tried to manually change the download mode inside the HUAWEI tools firmware: Revskills (B. Kerler credit) return to the standard mode and then reset, then the Device Manager will detect again under the new material in NIC as HUAWEI Mobile Broadband Module (VID:12 d 1 PID:1570) and automatically installed its driver from Microsoft.

VOILLAA, My Mobile Broadband can now be re-used to connect to Internet and now also presented in the connection.

A lot of delicate here to force Windows using HUAWEI driver to use the COM Port to communicate with the card mobile broadband HUAWEI inside and then using Revskills tools to change the mode to return to standard mode.

If someone knows this problem and wants my help, just ping me and I'll be happy to help you in the orientation.
