Unable to connect to the GET STARTED page

Hello

First of all, I'm sorry, I did a search and saw that many posts on this issue but on each of them finishing their answers once a user asked "did you do this or that?' or they just stopped posting... the more I saw a few topics where he worked magically subsequently , but no real instructions.

Thus, the problem: I installed XE 11g, no apparent problems during installation (no warning so I guess everything is OK), tried the link START, but it says it cannot connect.

System: Win XP PRO SP3, 2 GB of ram using Firefox 7.0.1
DB: Oracle 11g Express Edition
Antivirus: avast 6 (firewall included), but is disabled during the tests...

From what I could gather other messages here (and), the problem is that I have nothing listening on 8080. Other than that, everything looks OK (I think).
So, can anyone say me\help me on why this one is not start? I have reinstalled this 6 times and still can not find the problem... (as you have seen, I even replaced the tns with paranoia 127.0.0.1 hostname). It is seriously makes me crazy. Everything I wanted (from the problem itself in even a step by step for Dummies) shows an installation, then the interface work... I see some questions about the "I can't connect to the...» "but most are left unanswered :(

Thanks in advance!

P.S. Let me know if I forgot to mention something relevant

And Yes, EV has been disabled during installation.

Then, probably the best and easier to move now is to allow (return to the standard) and uninstall and reinstall XE.

If the script still exists after re - install, then troubleshooting can continue.

It seems you missed my post above with the startup command.

What you mean? I posted at the exit.

Yes, but not with the suggested contribution. At the SQL > prompt question: start

But, as said, don't bother unless re-installed.

I also installed another oracle customer, but no ORACLE_HOME was set, I checked the services and all work well, OracleServiceXE, OracleXEClrAgent, OracleXENSListener, I've been looking around, but I don't know what to do to solve the problem, any recommendations would be very useful.

    Thank you.

So, that's the problem. You need to see Oracle XE, listening on port 8081 here. I guess you don't have any server using 8081? WebSphere? any other HTTP Server? Otherwise it could be the same problem all over again. Sorry for asking question studip like that but your problem seems different from mine if choose a different HTTP port does not correct it. Maybe you could try to choose another port (e.g. 9080).

  • Unable to connect to the driver download Page

    Hello

When I click on the download button on the HP site, the connection times out.  I get an error message that Internet Explorer (v.8) cannot display this page (words to that effect).

Using Windows 7 (32 bit), I try to download the full version of the printer drivers for a 2610 HP Photosmart and Officejet all-in-One, for Windows 7 32 bit.  The version of the driver is 13.1.0 (AIO_CDB_Net_Full_Win_WW_130_141.exe), Mo 362,68.

Things, I tried to solve the problem:

    1 off User Account Control

2 Turned off Windows Firewall (supplied with Windows).  No other firewall in use.

    3 pop-up Blocker disabled

    4. I tried to download from another computer running Vista (same result)

I have the same situation of time-out after trying the steps above.

I downloaded the Microsoft Windows updates, drivers and programs from other sites without any problems.  This issue of timeout occurred only when I try to download the above printer driver.

Someone has an idea how I can get the download to work?

Maybe I can buy a HP CD with drivers.  I'm willing to pay.

    Fred

If the ftp link does not work, try the http: version by clicking here.  Some firewall or browser settings can block access to ftp sites.  In the case of the HP websites, this can be fixed by replacing the ftp: / / with http:// in the link, like did it for the link above.

  • At the opening of some Web pages I get a msg 'unable to connect to the server', but it works very well in startup

The last few days during the use of the internet, some Web pages will not be not open. I get a msg of error saying 'unable to connect to the server', but it works very well with other sites such as Facebook and YouTube.  This happens when I use Safari, Firefox and Chrome.  Yet if I'm in Safe Boot mode it works fine.  I exaggerate the App installed VPN and when I am in normal mode and connect to the VPN exaggeration, all Web pages work correctly. I searched the net for days trying to find a solution but nothing I tried worked.  I'm not very computer savvy either so don't know much of what I do with this technical stuff.  I emptied the caches, but that did not work.  Following the advice of an answer to another question on this forum that was similar to mine, I went into the Terminal and performed a diagnostic test.  I don't understand all the information in this essay so hope someone here can decipher. Hi AussieEgypt,

Thank you for using communities Support from Apple.

If a problem does not occur when it is started in safe mode, then you have already determined that the problem was isolated to a few 3rd party software running on your Mac.  Take a look at the information below to start with the removal of some elements of start-up and connection and see if the problem persists:

    Test your login items

    1. Choose the Apple menu > System Preferences, and then click users and groups.

    2. Click on your account under the current user name, and then click connection points.

Make a list of the login items, you will need to remember later.

    3. Select all the elements of connection, and then click the button Delete .

    4. Choose the Apple menu > restart.

    5. If this solves the problem, reopen the preferences users and groups, add the elements of connection one at a time and restart your Mac after the addition of each of them.

If the problem persists, follow the steps above to remove only the last element of connection that you added.

OS X El Capitan: If you think you have incompatible connection points

    See you soon.

  • Unable to connect to the Administration of Linksys to my WRT54G v.6 page

    Hello

Recently, I moved into a new House and brought my old router with me.  I set up this router to my former place long ago, but when I hooked it up here, I am unable to connect to the Admin of Linksys page (http://192.168.1.1 for example).  I think that I changed the router what IP to 192.168.1.101... it was a long time ago so I don't remember exactly.  I tried find what it was by typing "ipconfig" in the command prompt and using the address "Default gateway" IP address as the address of router, but that has not worked.

I tried to reset the router to factory default settings by pressing the button of reset for 30 seconds, then connect to http://192.168.1.1 but it does not help.  When I release the reset button, just power light continues to blink rapidly until I unplug the router.

I can access the internet without any problem, but I noticed that I connect my router differently than the instructions provided here.  I connect an ethernet cable from my modem to 1 of the 4 ports on the router (just like my laptop) rather than the port of 'internet' on the back.  Don't know if that is related or not, or even what is the cause.

I use Windows Vista on my laptop if it makes a difference.

Thanks in advance for your help,

    Ryan

The modem must be connected to the internet port of the router and the conputer on one of the 4 ports on the router... Now, check if you are able to ping the default gateway of the router. If you get 4 answers then, make broser on the computer settings... Open an IE, click Tools > Internet Options, then click on delete and delete all the files, cookies, history, forms... GoTo 'Connections', make sure that never Dial a connection is selected, click on network settings and make sure that all the options are unchecked... Once you are finished, click OK... Close IE and reopen...

Now, try to open the linksys configuration page by typing 192.168.1.1 in the address bar. You can also try another computer.

  • I can't get rid of the Firefox start page even if I continue to put in my own home page.

Suddenly, earlier today, the Firefox start page appears when I open Firefox. I tried several times to return to my own homepage through TOOLS, OPTIONS or by drag-and - drop. Whenever I get close and reopen, it comes back to its own Start Page for Firefox. I don't want to, I want my own hpmepage.

    Hey Hey,

    Try the following:

    (1) go to Subject: config (type in the address bar).

    (2) enter.

    (3) search browser.startup.homepage.

    (4) this variable controls what page is loaded when you start Firefox.

If its value is Subject: Home, you can change this value on the site that you want to load at startup. If not, try this:

    Citing cor - el:

    ================

Have you checked the target line in the properties of the desktop Firefox shortcut?

    What is the start setting?

Tools > Options > General > Startup: "When Firefox Starts":
"Show my windows and tabs from last time"
       "Show my home page"
       "Show a blank page"

    ================

To change this Web site, it opens when you open a new tab, do the same thing but with browser.newtab.url.

    Hi ricklord303,

You should take a look at the Knowledge Base How to set the home pagearticle.

There are the steps in this article to reset your preferences on the default home page. I would try everything first to clear all strangeness. If it works, you can try to set your homepage again to your personal preferences.

If this does not work you should look at this article on this specific issue and Preferences not savedarticle.

    Hope this helps!

msnews and msn newsservers and groups are gone.  There are a few free newsservers, such that news://nntp.aioe.org , but a pottery forum is empty.  There are also some newsservers that you can pay for.  You could try emailing somone who already contacted you in the other forums to see if they have suggestions and what they are doing in this regard.

    Hi Diddy Dell,

    Follow these methods.

Method 1: Performs a search using the Microsoft safety scanner.

    http://www.Microsoft.com/security/scanner/en-us/default.aspx

Note: The data files that are infected must be cleaned only by removing the file completely, which means that there is a risk of data loss.

    Method 2: Follow these steps:

Step 1: Start the computer in safe mode with network and check if the problem persists.

Step 2: If the problem does not persist in SafeMode with network, perform a clean boot to see if there is a software conflict as the clean boot helps eliminate software conflicts.

How to configure Windows XP to start in a "clean boot" State

Note: After completing the steps in the clean boot troubleshooting, follow the section How to configure Windows to use a Normal startup state of the link to return the computer to a Normal startupmode.

After the clean boot used to resolve the problem, you can follow these steps to configure Windows XP to start normally.

    Hello

Temporarily disable the security software on both computers and check if it makes a difference.

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/disable-antivirus-software

Note: Antivirus software can help protect your computer against viruses and other security threats.  In most cases, you should not disable your antivirus software. If you need to disable temporarily to install other software, you must reactivate as soon as you are finished. If you are connected to the Internet or a network, while your antivirus software is disabled, your computer is vulnerable to attacks.
