Unable to repair disk

I just build a new system of 64-bit Windows 7 and everything seems to work fine. Now, I'm trying to create a repair disk. With all the upper air closed, I start the repair disk function and it works a few minutes until the green progress bar is about 95 percent in the whole of the screen. Then it stops and says "system repair disc could not be created. Unknown error (0x80004005)

What should I do to create an ERD?

Hi Ray,

  • You have security software installed on your computer?

If you have any security software installed on your computer, you can try temporarily turning off and try to create a repair disk and check if you can create a. Later, re - enable security software after you create the system repair disc.

If the problem persists, you try to use a different medium (disc) and check if it works. You can also try other brand of disk and check.

To create a system repair disc, follow the steps below:

1. open backup and restore by clicking the Start button, clicking Control Panel, clicking system and Maintenance, and then clicking the backup and restore.
2. in the left pane, click on create a system repair disc and follow the steps. If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.

For more information, please see the link below:

I hope this helps. Let us know the results.

I rebooted my Macbook Air, hold R command and run repair disk. Then I reboot again and try to re-run OnyX, but it still says that my computer needs repair disk.

I have to bring my laptop for a check-up or repair?

Do not use OnyX. Non-Apple utility such as he are not reliable. What's worse, is that they are more than capable of causing problems where none exist, or exacerbate existing problems.

I have to bring my laptop for a check-up or repair?

If your Mac is running normally, none. However, you need to implement a reliable backup strategy, such as Time Machine: use Time Machine to back up or restore your Mac - Apple Support.

There is a Snow Leopard update that would probably help.  It's called 10.6.8 Combo update.  Download and apply.  Then discover iTunes.

https://support.Apple.com/kb/dl1399?locale=en_GB there is also a supplement that should also be downloaded.

  • HP Pavilion 500 series: repair disk error

    Hello.
I have a problem when I turned on my PC and it said "prepairing auto repair' followed"diagnostic PC"and finally"repair disk error, it may take more than an hour"
It had been like this for 10 hours and I know something is wrong. Any help would be appreciated.
    Thank you.

According to the published specifications, your PC comes with a standard SATA 3 1/2 ".

After you remove the disk, check the capacity on the label, because there are different sizes available options when you buy the PC.

So, no matter what another 3 1/2 "this capacity SATA drive will do.

    Good luck

    1. it is normal. You need not do anything.

I turned on my laptop and it came to a blue screen that says error and then he went to a blackish blue screen then he said preparation aromatic repair

Now, he has been saying repairing disk for a couple of hours errors
My warranty year just completed last month I don't use it all the time then I so confused why this happens in it and I do not see that happening to a large number of hp computers, which is weird, I tried the F8 F10 F11 F2 none of them no matter what my computer simply has the same thing more and more please get back to me thanks

    Hello

If you are able to turn on the laptop
Press F10 or F2 as soon as you turn it on, enter the BIOS
    then, the System Diagnostics
Make a test fast & extended hard drive & memory - component test

    Wait for the result.

    Look if the test succeeded.

If it is adopted, reboot the system, press F11 as soon as you turn on
    Go to solve
    Recovery options
Trying to back up all personal data of everything first

then, restart again, try recovery - or restore option then refresh
If the two do not work,
trying to get back to the factory setting

If you are not able to use recovery partition on your laptop computer for recovery, insert the recovery discs, if you have created or order a new HP or insert any disk system Image that you created.

If the disk hard test fail, you will have to go for replacement.

    Hope this solves the problem,

  • P2-1120: Windows repair disk

My computer Windows 7 needs a repair disk to initialize, but I can't do the him since he cannot start... My other computer is a windows 10 and I wonder if a repair made a computer disc windows 10, be compatible with a Windows 7?

    OneOneWorld

    Hello;

Let me welcome you on the HP forums!

I read your post about needing a Windows repair disk and wanted to help.

Sorry, but from what I remember, the Win10 option is to create a recovery disc - and is supposed to be written on a USB key.

If your Win7 PC can boot on USB, you can give it a try.

But if it does not, the ISO file to create a repair CD Win7 can be obtained (with supplement) from this link: http://neosmart.net/blog/2009/windows-7-system-repair-discs/

When you download this file, it will be an ISO file.

To make a CD bootable it, you will need to download and install ImgBurn.  Once you have installed, run, select the option "Save image to disk file" and select the downloaded ISO file and that it points to a blank CD.

To make a USB bootable of it, you will need to download and install RUFUS.  Once you have that, it is executed in the input of the unit, use the drop down menu to select the USB stick.  Near the bottom right, where is written 'Create a bootdisk to aid', select the ISO file downloaded.

Then the media start and run Startup Repair three times - that's right, three times - as it takes three passes to repair all files of the boot loader.

IF it works, when you delete the media and reboot, you should then start a Windows desktop computer.

    Good luck

I'm a volunteer and I do not work for, or represent, HP.

  • Repair disk - HP Envy23 errors

When I turn on my computer there is a message 'Auto repair Preparation' and then it turns to "diagnose your PC" then "repair disk errors, it can take more than an hour to fill," I had the computer on keep nearly 3 hours and above just messages reappear with appearing to do repairs. What can I do? Any suggestions?

    Thank you

    Hello longfram,

Thank you for responding to my message asking for additional information. I looked in your question, and it seems that if you have a bootable Windows 8 repair disc, you can run it and fix your Windows 8. Otherwise, if you turn off your computer and once it's off you hold down F11 key and press the button while continuing to hold down the key F11 you will bring up the system recovery that will repair your computer at factory.

NOTE: BE WARNED THAT THIS WILL DESTROY EVERYTHING, INCLUDING YOUR PERSONAL FILES!

It would seem that your operating system it corrupt. If you have the knowledge and the ability to back up your files by putting the hard drive, I would recommend that you do otherwise if your personal files are large enough you can bring your computer to a local computer repair shop and save your files for you.

I hope that I have answered your question to your satisfaction. Thanks for posting on the HP Forums. Have a great day!

  • Win 7 repair disk does not start

    H8 1380 t CTO, Intel i7 3820 processor. 10 GB of DDR3 Ram PC3-12800 memory. FRIEND bios (UEFI), Version 2.14.1219 (current).
Pegatron Motherboard-IPIWB-PB (Pittsburg) Audio Beats. AMD, the Radeon HD 7570 1 GB graphics card.

    I need some advice:

Can you direct me to a HP solution or tell me what I'm doing wrong?

I opened Control Panel - backup and restore and set up a backup schedule Win 7. Created a backup drive, and according to the instructions, a system image on a separate hard drive. This has been created successfully.

I have so successfully by the operating system, created an ERD in Windows 7 bootable, the screen guests said that this disc could be used to start the computer when you cannot start the operating system due to serious errors. This disk allows you to restore the system from a system image created using backup and restore or use other recovery tools to correct the problem that prevents windows from starting.

The system does not start on this disc. I did two restorations of the factory and went through the steps above, five times without success.

When you try to start the system with the Windows 7 repair disk the following steps were taken:

1 Win7 disc repair, system rebooted, you press ESC, selected the Boot Manager, select DVD disc and received the following message: boot nonsystem disc error.

2 rebooted system. escape, Startup Manager, then selected sata2 with no luck. Same error message as in (1).

    Thank you

    Hi Dave,.

  • Repair disk created with backup/restore of Windows 7 will not work

I have a new HP Desktop running Windows 7 Pro 64 bit.  It is using UEFI firmware and GPT disks.  I created a repair (CD) disc using Windows 7 backup and restore program.  The CD filled very well.  However, when I try to boot from the ERD, I get an error message and it won't work.  Does anyone have any ideas / solutions?

Moreover, I have a HP laptop and create a repair disk and boot from it works very well.  He is also running Windows 7 Pro, but isn't using UEFI firmware.

    Thanks for any help.

    Ron

1 topic of UEFI - see this thread for a solution.  Read the first response of Samuel Tai & continue downwards.

2 on UEFI - here's a thread that refers to images & repair discs & DVD system - system recovery CD made by the installation of the UEFI does not start

3 UEFI - there could be other useful UEFI threads in the forum but I don't know enough to judge.

4 on Recovery DVD - the term is often used quite loosely to mean a floppy disk with drivers above but, assuming it is an export of DVD of the restore partition factory created by using a utility from HP which clearly indicates that it is a tool for this precisely, so he could fall foul of the same show UEFI as far as I know.  If it wasn't the UEFI, I would say, Yes, it's true.

5 on Recovery DVD - just my prejudice here but not the HP utility allows you to create a unique instead recovery USB?  I think it would be more reliable because it would be difficult to break by sitting on it and it would be faster in use.  It goes the same for installation DVD/USB [I even transferred my system repair disc to a USB].

  • I need run windows repair disks, my question is

simply make the repair disks, or is there a preparation to do before hand?

    Brent,

Personally, I always make a picture of my C:\ drive system & update backups of files on my data disk before performing any repairs.  While I couldn't find that something is wrong during a repair, the potential is always there.

You don't mention why you repair your system.

I noticed that you write "disks" - in the plural.  Are you referring to the Windows 7 system repair disc [this is a specific element by using the link in the opening of the Windows backup window & there is just a single not many] or some other discs to repair such as records made by using a utility from the manufacturer of the PC, backup-restore application provider or provider of anti-malware application?
