  I remember there is no drill-through for text data sources. This is only available for relational data sources.

  Take a look in the dba guide to see if there is a limitation to the product.

• XPS 13 (9343) - unable to upgrade to Windows 10 - error 0xC1900101 0 x 30018

  I have a brand new 13 XPS, 9343 model with i7 processor and 512 GB SSD. I'm still within the period of 14 days, and I'm now seriously returning. I've never known such a load of nonsense trying to install any other piece of software.

  So far, and after many attempts, I was completely unable to upgrade to Windows 10. The first thing I did was to install all the Windows updates available for 8.1 (there were 79 of them), and immediately after that I started the saga to install Win10. Nothing else has been done to the laptop - no questionable software or USB devices (except the USB boot if necessary). It is in a State of cleanliness.

  -After the download via Windows Update, the installation procedure is INCREDIBLY slow (for example, it takes 36 HOURS to reach 42% completion - and at this point, it hits the error message). What the heck can he do?

  -J' also tried to create a bootable USB drive via the media creation tool. If I boot from the USB key and perform a "clean" installation, it works perfectly: it takes about 8 minutes total (which highlights how ridiculous the 36 hours). However, because it is a clean installation and not an 'upgrade', I find myself with a non-activated version of Windows 10 and I am asked to pay £99.99, I don't intend to do. I paid for the laptop on the understanding, he would get a FREE upgrade to Win10!

  -J' also tried using the USB key (but not the start of it) to perform the upgrade in place - this strikes the same mistake as Windows Update (and taking so long)

  -J' tried to uninstall all antivirus software, and disable all wireless/bluetooth devices before performing the upgrade - nothing of this aid. Because need me 36 HOURS per attempt, it is really not acceptable to try disabling things randomly in the vain hope that it might work correctly.

  When trying to upgrade (i.e. not), I hit an error message "Windows Setup cannot set up Windows on your hardware" or similar. During the recovery after the failure, tool configuration gives the 0xC1900101 error code 0 x 30018 and says it failed in operation 'FIRST_BOOT', the phase SYSPREP. Just make this error message cost me 36 hours of waiting (welcome to the future!), then it would be really helpful if someone could give me a definitive answer on what makes...

  I have essbase studio, where cubes are deployed manually on a regular basis to the EAS. Now, we intend to automate it, and our Essbase Studio and Essbase sitting on UNIX. I know that we can call the 'startMAXL.sh' of UNIX shell, but I was wondering, if I automate that, I pre-home/pre-store can do the command deploy somewhere in the script that calls startMAXL.sh and runs this command?

  My new shell script is:

  You can save the command deploy the Deployment Wizard (or create it manually), then in your shell script that calls startMaxL.sh to add the path and name of your file MaxL after him.

  I created a user DB ESSTBC with the following user privileges

  CREATE SESSION, CREATE TABLE, CREATE TRIGGER, CREATE TYPE, CREATE VIEW

  This is my first attempt on the Essbase Studio, so I executed the following scripts as the user ESSTBC to create the TBC tables and load the data

  tbc_create_oracle. SQL

  tbc_sampledata. SQL

  I am able to connect with ESSTBC and select the tables all loaded and made sure the data is loaded correctly

  Then in the Studio of Essbase, I created a data source, which I can list all the tables in the schema ESSTBC in 'Data Source Navigator'. I also managed to create a Minischema by joining the tables SALES, SCENARIO, and MEASURES.

  However, in "Data Source Navigator" when I select "SCENARIO", right click and select "View Sample Data", I am able to pull data from the table. that is the table with all the names of columns grid but no data. No error messages were shown in "Messages to the Console.

  Back to Developer SQL and connect the same DB as ESSTBC, I have no problem do a "SELECT * SCRIPT;" and recover all the data of the table without a problem.

  I proceed creating dimensions elements then a hierarchy of "SCENARIO". But again when I try to get a glimpse of the hierarchy has got an empty tree. Apparently, there's something wrong,

  Problem solved. The cause being my stupidity ruin a access DB. I can see examples of data without changing anything in Essbase Studio after you change the DB user rights.

  • If I watch the server.properties for Studio (E:\Oracle\Middleware\EPMSystem11R1\products\Essbase\EssbaseStudio\Server\server.properties) file then it is empty, except a headerline saying enties here are used to override the settings?
  • I rerun the EPM system configurator, but that made no difference.

  I have a version of the 11.1.2.3 on Windows Server 2008 R2 environment, and whenever I start the Essbase Studio Service it just stops.

  I found the following at EventViewer:

  The description for event ID 0 in source HyS9EssbaseStudio_epmsystem1 is not found. Either the component that triggers this event is not installed on your local computer or the installation is corrupted. You can install or repair the component on the local computer.

  If the event is on another computer, the display information had to be saved with the event.

• Essbase Studio - Import Catalog using an automatic process

  Hello

  I want to make the process of importing Essbase Studio more automatic catalog in the customer environment. Instead of having to open the Essbase Studio application whenever I want to deploy a new version of the catalog (full or partial), is it possible to export/import the catalog using a unix shell script or the command BACK?

  I think that the options will be limited to automate migration until 11.1.2.3 where LCM is supported by the Studio.

• History of own deployment Essbase Studio - 11.1.2.1.00-

  We have 3 essbase BSO cubes and we perform a data, Member charges twice each day with Essbase Studio. Because of these many frequent deployments, the history of deployment for these models is spent and we try to clean history using the following command:
  
  call 'util': 'cleanModelHistory' ("ModelName", dataset:------' SchemaName "");
  
  PS: I've had rechangés mdoel and schema names with our model names and the cube schema
  
  But we receive one the following error message:
  
  CPL - procedure irregular name 'cleanModelHistory '. Line = 1.
  
  Any help is greatly appreciated.

  Might be useful to have a read of the doc within Oracle Support - ID 1523266.1

  He says "In 11.1.2.1, use of CPL direct instructions to clean the history of deployment." and gives an example.

• Essbase Studio on Linux

  Hi all
  
  Just installed EMP 11.1.2.1 on Linux oul5x64.
  I can connect using URL to AES/work/Foundation/SST
  When connect you to http://hypess:19000/interop/index.jsp
  I can see essbase Studio Server 2 in there, but that's all. not much I could do.
  There are all the consoles on this version that works under Linux? or I have to install Essbase studio client on Windows.

  Scenario of

  1. If we don't identify an intersection point to say 'entity' in the report definition, this means that the DT is available for the default entity?
  
  2. I will be able to define DT, i.e. at level 1 for the hierarchy of measures and get the transactional details for all children less than the parent?
  
  3. for the Scenario dimension, I defined DT at level 2. When I zoom in to all levels, DT is available for level 2, level 1, Level0. This is how it is supposed to work, or is it all just because my model follows the recursive hierarchy?
  
  4. Finally, in what other ways the source can be defined outside the recursive method? A simple example would be beneficial.
  I want to explore different options in order to acquire a full understanding of the capabilities of the studio.

  If you do not specify a selection for the entity, this means that you will not be filtering on entity (it woun't; t be part of the where clause in the SQL and thus to return all the values of the entity)

  For recursive hierarchies, you specify the level that you want to activate to break through. He returned then all children level 0 under that level in a SQL clause.   If you use recursive hierarchies or not, you set the highest level that Pierce is active. by default, this means any level within the framework that is also available to break through.

  You can use hierarchiers generation/level based as well by the presence of different levels of the joined tables or columns. My book Look smarter tan you with Essbase Studio gives examples of these types of hierarchies (this a shameless plug)

• Essbase Studio Dim failing Build!

  I have tried to do a POC in Essbase studio and followed the method of "parent/child" for my hierarchy of accounts. When I do a preview in Essbase studio I see the sketch as expected (according to the table of the source). However, when I deploy the cube... it fails with an error.
  
  'M1' member name already in use
  
  M1 is the parent company and has 5 children. I see the above error message 5 times. Same problem happens with the dimension scenario that I've defined a similar Parent/child hierarchy.

  Looks like a couple of things
  1 have you thought to make the recursive among Member parents and children join in the minischma (right click, then save it?)
  2 do you have a column in the source that uses the rows are returned in the correct order? Did you apply this sorting in the child member of metadata?
