  Hi all
  
  I installed Hyperion 11.1.2 in my machine... When I had installed in my machine, my machine IP address was say 198.456.789.101, but now it has been changed to 198.456.789.121 due to which I am not able to connect to a Hyperion product. Its saying "network error." Can someone please suggest all my machine configurations to be compatible with the new IP address. I can't change my IP address also.

  Have you taken an XML backup of the complete catalogue of Studio? If yes then you should be fine

  I'll assume this BSO as you did, what you've done now is built, the hiearchies and data loaded Level0, now you need to aggregate these data at higher levels, in the OSI world, this is done generally by using a calc script that you can grow in the EA.

• Receive error message when you connect to a Hyperion Essbase Studio 11.1.2

  I searched the forum trying to find an answer to my problem without success. Thanks in advance for any help you can provide.
  
  When you try to connect to Essbase Studio Client, you receive an error "connection with Essbase Studio Server error: network error ', in the details of the tab of this popup is"network communication with the server failed. Check your network connection and try again.
  "Connection refused: connect". I found that this usually means that the Essbase Studio Service is not running. 11.1.2 Hyperion Essbase Studio is installed as a service. I don't know if this is the case in previous environments.
  
  The windows service is running and running and I also try to start from the start menu and it doesn't seem to be errors. But when I look at the logs of start-up, that's what I find.

  I tried out the "-" in the server names and the name of DB without help, I tried to put quotes around the "hstudio_dev.hypsql" with no luck, and I tried to connect to a database that had no '-' inside. I also followed the steps described by the support for the same question in 11.1.1.x which you enter in the DB > Security > schema > add a new schema/user, create the user and the owner of the schema, etc. It also did not help.
  
  This is a new installation and everything else is fine to connect to DB, default user hypsql DB is the DB hstudio_dev. I installed in different environments, and this same problem happening in both environments. Please let me know if you have any questions, thank you for your time and your help.
  
  Also, I realize in the DB and I see that a lot of tables in fact were created then it will connect at least during Setup. I've also reconfigured several times without success on different from the DB and always new/clean the DB. and the hypsql of the user is a DBO for this DB. It's DB SQL 2005, Windows 2003 servers.

• Start error Essbase Studio

  I am very new to hyperion. I installed services, essbase and planning foundation and configured them. Then I installed essbase studio via EssbaseStudioConsole and started the system to help start the EPM system. When I run EPM System diagnosis, is everything except for this error:
  
  ESS FAILED: connection of Essbase Studio Essbase Studio server validation
  Error: The network communication with the server failed. Check your network connection and try again.
  Recommended action: application startup

  What could cause such a mistake? I'm looking for what things in the environment that Essbase Studio depends on, but could not find one.

  You need to check the server.properties for correct syntax to connect to Oracle, the file will be in /user_projects//BPM/BPM/bin

  If you use the name of the service Oracle syntax is

  Catalog.URL=oracle\://host\:port/OracleServiceName

  If you use the SID Oracle syntax is

  Catalog.URL=oracle\://host\:port\:sid

  If you make any changes, restart the service of Studio.

  Also, it looks like you use the schema system is that correct?
  "The 'System' database contains no tables of the catalog Studio."

  You shouldn't really use the diagram of the system and create one for the Studio.

  During the installation of Essbase Studio only, ess_es_server.jar and ess_japi.jar are missing. If you install Essbase and Studio, they have not disappeared.

  I am emptying everything that I don't use in the metadata browser. I am trying to remove something, but then I get this error:

  I had happen to 11.1.1.X Studio where I removed the artifacts that were used. It pipes the database completely. There really is an order you ERA to remove things. Basically, reverse order that they were created. With the help of the lineage is a good way to check where we use artifacts. 11.1.2.1 had much better to check see if oyu can delete everything first.

  At this point, I recommend restoring a backup system tables

  Drill thru report Essbase studio produced the below error: impossible to retrieve the drill to the result.
  
  Error in the select statement. Line = 2466.
  Error in the execution of the query. Check the query and try again.
  Cannot execute an SQL query

  No idea I'm able to test some of the dimensions, but this error is coming up for a few dimensiosns... I checked all the joins between the dimensions and facts... all right.

  I suggest to look at the logs to see if you can find the generated SQL statements or to rent the values being passed. then you can start to debug the issue

  In my pc (windows xp), I can open the Essbase Studio console, the connection to the Oracle server, get the tables and create a minischema of measures and hierarchies (I can see the preview of hierarchies). I also can create cubes with EAS and can connect with MAXSHELL to essbase.
  
  When I try to deploy the cube of Essbaes Studio there get the error ' Error (1021001): failed to establish connection to SQL Database Server.

• Essbase Studio - Server start failure

  Installed EMP 11.1 on Oracle. Initially installed Essbase Studio under the same user/tablespace as all components of the EMP. The Essbase Studio Server startup fails with the error message had permissions to initialize the catalog. As it appeared that he was trying to initialize the tables under the user, I created a separate user for Studio and set up the database again.
  
  Server starts now in making it past the catalog initialization but fails with a message "SEVERE ServerMain.failedToLoadSystemPackage".
  
  I have reviewed all the available logs and found no errors during installation or configuration and product log does not much to do. If you have any ideas on where I can look for more information or if you have installed 11.1 Essbase Studio on Windows Server 2003 can fall back you a post? I would like to compare some of the files, directories, and material properties.

  You can also first try to delete and re-create the user created for the catalog of Studio. Looks like the catalogue do not get properly initialized. If it does not, and then view the log file, and we can take a look.

• Essbase Studio impossible to 'Examining the sample data' in the Oracle DB Data Source

  I created a user DB ESSTBC with the following user privileges

  CREATE SESSION, CREATE TABLE, CREATE TRIGGER, CREATE TYPE, CREATE VIEW

  This is my first attempt on the Essbase Studio, so I executed the following scripts as the user ESSTBC to create the TBC tables and load the data

  tbc_create_oracle. SQL

  tbc_sampledata. SQL

  I am able to connect with ESSTBC and select the tables all loaded and made sure the data is loaded correctly

  Then in the Studio of Essbase, I created a data source, which I can list all the tables in the schema ESSTBC in 'Data Source Navigator'. I also managed to create a Minischema by joining the tables SALES, SCENARIO, and MEASURES.

  However, in "Data Source Navigator" when I select "SCENARIO", right click and select "View Sample Data", I am able to pull data from the table. that is the table with all the names of columns grid but no data. No error messages were shown in "Messages to the Console.

  Back to Developer SQL and connect the same DB as ESSTBC, I have no problem do a "SELECT * SCRIPT;" and recover all the data of the table without a problem.

  I proceed creating dimensions elements then a hierarchy of "SCENARIO". But again when I try to get a glimpse of the hierarchy has got an empty tree. Apparently, there's something wrong,

  Problem solved. The cause being my stupidity ruin a access DB. I can see examples of data without changing anything in Essbase Studio after you change the DB user rights.

  Hi gurus,

  I have a version of the 11.1.2.3 on Windows Server 2008 R2 environment, and whenever I start the Essbase Studio Service it just stops.

  I found the following at EventViewer:

  The description for event ID 0 in source HyS9EssbaseStudio_epmsystem1 is not found. Either the component that triggers this event is not installed on your local computer or the installation is corrupted. You can install or repair the component on the local computer.

  If the event is on another computer, the display information had to be saved with the event.

  the message resource is present, but the message is not in the string/message table

  Anyone know what this means and what is the origin of this service?

• Essbase Studio and drill holes in

  I created an application ASO in essbase studio via the text data source and success it has deployed to essbase server but smartview and spreadsheet adds in the forest through reports do not think.
  
  Standard SQL is also not creating holes in the reports.

  Hello

  I remember there is no drill-through for text data sources. This is only available for relational data sources.

  Take a look in the dba guide to see if there is a limitation to the product.

• History of own deployment Essbase Studio - 11.1.2.1.00-

  We have 3 essbase BSO cubes and we perform a data, Member charges twice each day with Essbase Studio. Because of these many frequent deployments, the history of deployment for these models is spent and we try to clean history using the following command:
  
  call 'util': 'cleanModelHistory' ("ModelName", dataset:------' SchemaName "");
  
  PS: I've had rechangés mdoel and schema names with our model names and the cube schema
  
  But we receive one the following error message:
  
  CPL - procedure irregular name 'cleanModelHistory '. Line = 1.
  
  Any help is greatly appreciated.

  Might be useful to have a read of the doc within Oracle Support - ID 1523266.1

  He says "In 11.1.2.1, use of CPL direct instructions to clean the history of deployment." and gives an example.
