  • ___Cvi_toolbox_smart_type_default_types undefined symbol

    Hello

    I have a project that was built to be modified using CVI Version 9.1.0 (Build 427).

    I need to change and want to use the latest version of the CVI.

    The build will fail with a linker error:

    Undefined symbol '___cvi_toolbox_smart_type_default_types' referenced in "toolbox.obj".

    I assume that one of the functions of Toolbox that I used has been changed or depeciated, but which?

    Does anyone know what this error is associacted with? I'd rather not search funtion of all programmers Toolbox in my project.

    Kind regards

    John

    You can get these types of errors of link if the toolbox.obj in your project or your CVI environment (ADE) is from a newer version of the CVI the CVI ADE you use to compile the project. Verify the path of the toolbox.obj file in your project / ADE and make sure it is the same version of the CVI.

    Hello.

    I am trying to solve my problem of error connecting for a few days, but I can't find the right answer. I have already searched the forum and read some threads with "undefined symbol link error", but they are not fitting to my problem.

    What I'm trying to do: I want to communicate with my Softing profibus card. I includes all the header files in my source code and also I have included both .lib for the project files. But the mentioned error will not leave.

    It is curiously when I choose "Go to definition" in the context menu, CVI is the good statement in the right header file.

    Who can help? What's wrong?

    one of the LIB provides this function, Yes.

    But now I got it. I checked the Options 'building' and change the 'default calling convention' to '__cdecl' (should be default) '__stdcall' and now everything works fine with this function.

    Does anyone have advice on build parameters for ENA in Xcode, or have experienced this problem before? See you soon.

    Hello

    We were able to understand the question and it will be fixed in the next version.

    For now, a possible workaround is to systematically use the finalizer function in the DONKEY. For example, the following steps should be followed:

    (1) in the native code to ANE, a new function, with the signing of FREFinalizer() must be written. Refer to http://help.adobe.com/en_US/air/extensions/WSb464b1207c184b14-53a8419b 129382b 5758 - 8000.html for the prototype. It could contain also a minimal code or simply a return statement. for example.

    Sub minimalFinalizerFunction(void * extData)

    {

    return;

    }

    (2) in the extension.xml, include this line after the tag:

    minimalFinalizerFunction

    (3) repackage your ALBUM using the new .to and extension.xml.

    Can I know what he's talking about and how to solve?

    Here's how to interpret this error:

    /Users/shubhendusharma/Documents/Momentics.app/host_10_2_0_15/darwin/x86/usr/bin/ntoarm-ld: note: 'hu_SHA1Hash' is defined in DSO /Users/shubhendusharma/Documents/Momentics.app/target_10_2_0_1155/qnx6/armle-v7/lib/libhuapi.so.5 so try adding it to the linker command line

    Having said that the hu_SHA1Hash entry point is defined as a dynamic shared object (DSO) in an external library called libhuapi.s0.5

    Thus, you must add the libhuapi.so shared library to your project so that the build process knows where.

    Make sure that you have the directive '-lhuapi ' added to your .pro file something like this:

    APP_NAME = TestRandom

    CONFIG += qt warn_on cascades10

    LIBS += -lhuapi -lbbsystem

    include(config.pri)

    In general to resolve a library bearing the name of, say, libFoo.so you need the - lFoo directive in the .pro project file.

  • undefined symbol COleException

    Hello

    I'm trying to migrate my Visual 6.0/CVI Interface application to Visual Studio 2005/CVI Interface.

    My version of the CVI is the 8.0.0.

    I had a lot of problem with this new Setup, but now my problem is with the linker.

    Here's the error from the linker:

    NiCommon71SD.lib : error LNK2019: symbole externe non résolu " virtual int __thiscall COleException::GetErrorMessage(char *,unsigned int,unsigned int *)" référencé dans la fonction " virtual int __thiscall NI::CNiOleException::GetErrorMessage(char *,unsigned int,unsigned int *)"

    It is clear that there is no link to COleException, but in the library which this function is supposed to be?

    Thanks for your help!

    This issue can be closed. I found the solution. The main problem was that I didn't have the right version of Measurement Studio installed. To use Visual Studio 2005, Measurement Studio 2009 is certainly necessary.

    Now I use the NiCommon80SD.lib and the link is ok. After that I had a problem on the mfc80d.dll not found and this step has been resolved by adding a manifest file in my project.

  • Symbol not defined "_IID_IDispatch".

    I use the object library Microsoft DAO 3.6 with the "Borland C++ compile 5.5" external compiler.

    Everything was going well until I changed LabWindow/CVI of 8.5 to 9.0.

    Now, I got the error link project at the following address:

    "Undefined symbol"_IID_IDispatch"referenced in"excel2000.obj","microsoft_da0_3_6.obj"and"excelreport.c"."

    It's always OK when I compile with compiler CVI...

    Yes, the version of Borland uuid.lib CVI 9.0 does not link properly. We are aware of this problem and will fix it soon. You can work around this by replacing the uuid.lib CVI 9.0 (cvi90/sdk/lib/borland/uuid.lib) version with version 8.5 of uuid.lib CVI (cvi85/sdk/lib/borland/uuid.lib). I am also attaching version 8.5 of the BCI of this file, in case you don't have it.

    I have had this problem before and with the help of the following sons, was able to fix it by recompiling my static libraries.

    Unfortunately, the recompilation, marking for the compilation or delete dosent records .cvibuild works for me this time.

    I can compile mode debugging without probs.

    I can not compile in release mode, at least all of my *.libs are excluded and the *.c library source files included.

    All projects are built in CVI2012.

    Can someone shed some light on why this link of error could happen?

    I'm not too familiar with how the CVI environment works at this level. I read in an other (related) positions that the functions of these undefined symbols are only used when debugging that adds to my confusion...

    see you soon,

    DIZ.

    Hi DIZ,

    Have you tried the step provided by D_Biel in http://forums.ni.com/t5/LabWindows-CVI/Link-error-after-including-a-static-library/m-p/2185036 ?  It seems that this may be a known issue in LabWindows/CVI 2012 and enabled a work around.  The error seems to come from the static libraries built in LabWindows/CVI.  Please try the suggestions below if you don't have it already.

    D_Biel wrote:

    Hi, CPP,.

    Using CVI 2012? If Yes, then you probably stumbled across known problem 372694. This is a bug with the build configuration for the static library introduced in 2012 of the CVI. The problem occurs when you switch the target Type of a Dynamic Link Library or executable file that was in a configuration of debugging for the static library. Static libraries are not allowed to be built in a debug configuration, so CVI attempts to pass the debug configuration for release when the target type is changed to the static library. In 2012 of the CVI, this of the debug to release not completely change it, so you're left in an inconsistent state of configuration. In this State, the static library is built with the debugging symbols that it does not define.

    The good news is that it is very easy to fix. After the passage of the Type of target to the static library, simply reselect release as being the configuration (the exit option is already selected, but go ahead and select it again in any case). Once again, you select that, the static library will be built correctly without the debugging symbols.

    Using the activate option. Obj option is not required and will not allow you to debug your application.

    Edit: This issue will be addressed in the next version of the CVI.
