Hello

This can help you:

1. If you are using Norton, you should disable Norton inviolable Protection before using the system restore.

http://Service1.Symantec.com/support/sharedtech.nsf/pfdocs/2005113009323013

AVG will cause problems with SR too.

«Temporarily disable AVG»

http://www.Avg.com/ww-en/FAQ.Num-3857

2. try to use Safe Mode system restore.

http://bertk.MVPs.org/html/restoresysv.html

3 Malware will stop at the system restore.

Download, install, update and scan your system with the free version of Malwarebytes AntiMalware, if necessary in Mode safe mode with networking:

http://www.Malwarebytes.org/products/malwarebytes_free

And here's how to go in Safe Mode options; Select safe mode with networking from the list of options:

    Hi George,.

    Welcome to the Microsoft community.

According to the query, you get the system restore error: 0 x 80070571 when you tried to perform a check disk (Chkdsk).

To help solve your problem better, could you give us the following information?

    1. Why you try to run Chkdsk? Are you facing performance issues?
    2. You get an error code when running Chkdsk?

This is perhaps due to the corruption of user account or corrupt file system or any software of third-party programs.

I suggest to create a new user account and then try to perform a system restore.

See the following Microsoft support article to create a new user account and check if it helps.

It would also be useful if you we post the logs in Event Viewer to analyze and solve the problem better.

    keimanzero,

Comcast of Norton Security Suite version is installed? If Yes, who and perhaps malware is most likely to cause questions you have published, in particular the failure of the restoration of the system.
First, configure the system to boot - How to solve a problem by performing a boot in Windows Vista or in Windows 7
NOTE: Start-up mode minimum state all the 3rd party firewalls will be disabled. Open Control Panel > Windows Firewall to make sure that the native firewall of Windows 7 is now on.

Download and Save the update system (or CheckSUR) tool. You will need to download the specific Version of CheckSUR corresponding to the architecture of the system to Windows 7. If you do not know the architecture of the system, and then click the link that says "Click here to show or hide the instructions step by step with images" under method 2: download the update directly system preparation tool from Microsoft Download Center .
Description of the preparation tool system update for Windows Vista for Windows Server 2008, for Windows 7 and for Windows Server 2008 R2

Once the download is complete, close all open programs and browsers. Now, run CheckSUR with the system connected to the internet because it will download the .cab for system files. Reboot once CheckSUR is complete.

Secondly, I suggest that you run the File Checker system while in the same clean boot state.
To run the System File Checker tool, follow these steps:

    1. Click Start and type cmd in the field search programs and files .
    2. Right click on cmd.exe in the programs of list, and then choose 'run as administrator '.
If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type your password or click on continue.
    3. At the command prompt, enter the following line exactly as written including the space between thec and the/and then press ENTER:
      sfc/scannow

When the analysis is complete, test to see if the problems facing the system have been resolved.

If they are not, you will need to contact Norton support for the version of Norton Internet Security Comcast to get help, or just uninstall NIS, run the Norton removal tool (right click Norton_Removal_Tool.exe, choose "Run as Administrator"), reboot and then check to see if the problems are still occurring.

  • System Restore error: "the changes to the G: drive after this point cannot be reversed, because the drive has been either excluded from monitoring system restore or has been disabled or deleted.»

I had some problems with my computer recently I knew could be solved with the system restore.  Then I went into system restore and went to a restore point that was a few weeks back.  After I clicked on it and pressing the ok button, the following message appeared: "the changes made to the G: drive after this point cannot be reversed, because the drive has been either excluded from monitoring system restore or has been disabled or deleted.»  I let it continue and do the restore.  My computer has rebooted and came up with an error in system restore that says restore failed.  It's the same thing with other restore points.  I don't know why I get this error because I not made any changes to this hard drive except for copy of a document word on him.  I thought that the System Restore monitors removable disks.  Anyone know what is happening here and how I can get the restoration of the system to operate without the mistakes to come?

I have Norton.  Disable the Tamper Protection works.  I also noticed that since the G: drive was a portable hard drive, System Restore wanted to exercise oversight.  He wants to monitor all hard drives.  Turn on external and portable hard disks prevents tracking system restore changes to the readers.  I don't think anyone would have the system restore review external drives anyway.  It is not necessary.

    Thank you very much!

A virus that has infected operating system files or program files can be active in safe mode.

Here are a few things to try:

    1. Because your computer has Norton Antivirus, you should disable Norton product Tamper Protection before you run the system restore.  This is not the same thing to disable Norton Antivirus.
    2. Demarrer start from a Windows Vista installation disc, select repair your computer and run System Restore from the System Recovery Options menu.
