Unified file inf

Hello

the installer we deliver includes an inf for USB communication. We currently have two separate *.inf files created by the wizard of the NI-VISA for Win XP and Win Vista driver +. Is it possible to automatically create a unified for this file?

If this is not the case, what is the right way to offer Setup for the client? We obviously want to avoid editions two installation programs for the sake of another inf file. By pushing two .inf files to the storage of windows inf location seems odd, but should be possible. Is it possible to package the installer behave platform?

Thank you and best regards

If everything you do is copy the .inf files in a folder windows during installation, you could us the option "run executable after installation»

Advanced tab (Setup Properties dialog box)

http://zone.NI.com/reference/en-XX/help/371361J-01/lvdialog/adv_installer_settings_db/

There you can ask, for example, the user for his version of windows or get it by programming and copy only the inf file you need

    Hello

The drivers that you try to install seems to be corrupted. Let us fisrt remove all traces of the software driver for this device in the Device Manager and then install the drivers from the manufacturer's Web site.

    Step 1.
You can uninstall the audio drivers completely from the Device Manager and re-install from the manufacturer's Web site.
I would also recommend to check if there are Windows updates for this device.

    Step 2.
Here is the link to download the latest drivers.

Select the type of product like "Mouse" and select the product as "Notebook Optical Mouse" and your version of operating system and the language of the operating system.

This page will direct you to a link to download the IntelliPoint software, which is the software of the mouse.

  • ZR24W: Monitor the file Inf ZR24W?

    Hi all

can someone tell me where I can download the monitor for the ZR24W Inf file? I couldn't find anywhere on the support site?

    Thank you and best regards

    Hello:

You should be able to manually install the W8 x 64 driver.  Here's how...

I zipped and tied the driver below.

Download and uncompress the file in its folder.  Don't do anything with the files in the folder.

Go to Device Manager and click to expand the category of device monitors.

Click the monitor P and P.

Click the driver tab.  Click on set to update driver.

Select her browse my computer for driver software option and navigate to the driver folder, that you unzipped.

Make sure that the include subfolders is selected and the driver should install.

    Then restart the PC.

  • Color LaserJet M553dn: Who *. File INF should I choose?

Help! -I'm stuck to new driver installation TCP/IP for the M553dn on a Windows 7 Pro SP1 64-bit Intel-based PC.  Try first manually install the such simple PCL6 (not game) driver as described in the following:

Step 15 says: 'Select the appropriate INF file' [emphasis].  I can't be the only person stumbled on this because I see there no significant unanswered questions: how the hell do I say which five .inf files in the directory of the expanded pilot is the right one for my system? -jclarkw

PS - The corresponding PostScript driver is UDP only.  It is the order of the 'Guide of the UDP system administrators' (see method 1, pp. 51-52), which can be found at:

    http://h20566.www2.HP.com/portal/site/hpsc/template.page/action.process/public/PSI/manualsDisplay/?s...

said at 10, "in the unzipped HP UPD file, select any .inf file and then select open and OK" [emphasis].  Why have I not select the .inf "appropriate" in this case too?  This guidance would apply to the PCL6 driver as well? -jcw

    > How on earth can I say that, five files in the expanded driver .inf, directory is right for my system?

Well, I gave you guys and called HP technical support.  They tell me that since XP, all versions of Windows automatically choose the good. INF file.  So just select everything . INF file (actually, to point to the right directory window) and the installation will pronounce correctly.  I hope this helps someone else! -jclarkw

  • Missing USB. The Windows XP SP3 Installation INF file

I had problems to install USB devices and after a long-term task and it narrowed the field down, I discovered why.

I don't have USB. INF file in my Windows/Inf directory.

Annoyingly, my setup is not an I386 directory, and my XP disks are stored in a box somewhere that I'm travelling right now.

I need to get a copy of the USB right. File INF for XP SP3 - I downloaded a couple, but they did not...

Anyone knows where I can get it online, or could send me a link or send me a copy?

    Thank you

    Matt

Try to get the smart-inf of your manufacturer of computers or the chip-maker (for example Intel)

If you do not lnow what chip you have Intel has routine to check the chip chip-inf

I have a similar problem, but still not resolved, apparently SP3 do not update or keep the inf files...
  • Problem with the INF file trying to replace the USB mouse

I am trying to replace a USB mouse that works but sometimes gives me double clicks rather than alone. But all the attempts to have it translated into the same error viz:

"The driver for this device is missing a necessary entry, maybe it's because the file INF was written for windows 95 or later." Contact your hardware vendor. »

The mouse I'm replacing is an optical mouse of Trust and so far I have tried 3 other optical mice - an ASDA brand, a Dell and a Logitech Value Optical Mouse. All with the same result.

All the mice tried claim to be plug-and-play compatible with Vista (Home Premium installed). None came with the drivers and the last Logitech there is no download associated with it - I don't think this problem of the manufacture.

    Any ideas anyone?

  • where is seen. Records | Unified?

I want the unified file see - to my thunderbird version 31.6.0 there is no view - files... where this happened? How can I get the folder view unified?

If you use the new button AppMenu it is a menu files in big listing with unified under one.

Most of the existing documentation is based on the use of the menu bar which is hidden in the new versions of Thunderbird. By pressing alt or F10 reveals the menu bars hidden in most applications, including Thunderbird.
You can turn on the old toolbars to show all the time by using the menu bar and selecting display-toolbars and clicking their back on.
Some programmer thought it would be cute to move all the choices of menu under the button AppMenu. They need to spend time here answering the questions of the users together.

  • Can I create new folders and filter emails to them when using folders, unified inbox

Spent in IMAP and ended up with two inboxes (w8dn & weightdn @...). Switched to records unified to get all emails in one place. I get emails from many of many email lists if you need to create folders and filter emails in the appropriate folder. I can make this as set up or will it return to the POP server?

    Thank you
    Mike / W8DN

Yes. Local folders account is provided by Thunderbird for just this purpose; a generalized situation of storage independent of the account. The filter is located under Tools | Message filters. Right click on the sender in a message header will also create a filter.

With Thunderbird, you by default will have a separate set of folders for each account. This way gives you the opportunity to keep separate accounts (some users require) and you can also use the saved searches, Unified files and local files to merge accounts (other users require too!)

  • Problem Win7: Device driver (* .inf) within the distribution is not installed in setup.exe. Why?

    Hi people,

We have a device driver (* .inf) to our application that is added to our distribution , we create in CVI. In the past we did copy the *.inf in the /dossier inf directly (using the distribution Installer "files"-Tab "").

Recently, we have followed the guidelines described in "Using LabWindows/CVI to install your device .inf files.

So we have now chosen a significant subdirectory of our application as the destination folder for the file *.inf instead of directly copy in the system directory.

Everything works well (besides the fact that our driver has no signature and needs user interaction), while using Windows XP.

DIFxApp (run MsiProcessDrivers) recognizes the *.inf file and installs the device driver.

After completing successfully the setup.exe, the specified *.inf has been duplicated as oem*.inf/pnf under /INF.

But under Windows 7 the *.inf is not installed. I ran "setup.exe/l * v" for the information of the installation log file.

    And I found this article:

MSI (s) (8:9 C) [13:56:41:043]: jumping action: MsiProcessDrivers (the condition is false)
Of course the step of installing the drivers is ignored.

Choose the /INF in the folder target to the *.inf (which does not work on Windows XP) everything works fine.

Does anyone know why MsiProcessDrives is ignored in Windows 7? It is always ignored or I do something wrong?

    Help is appreciated!

    Thank you!

    Philipp

PS. : The device driver *.inf was written for several OS (XP, Vista, Win7) target according to Microsoft guidelines for this. So it of a universal *.inf file and can be used in each operating system from XP to Win7.

    Good,

    I solved the problem myself.

The problem is related to the DIFxApp.dll , which is available as 32-bit and 64-bit version.

In my case, I created the distribution as the 32-bit version. That's why 32-Bit DIFxApp.dll is merged into the MSI file that is not compatible with Windows 7 (64-bit).

This is why NOR added to this CustomAction Condition (NOT VersionNT64) for MsiProcessDrivers, which is perfectly adapted to the species but of by not having is not the *.inf file

installed in Win7. I guess the distribution building like Release64 it will use the 64-bit Version of DIFxApp.dll. I'm not able to verify that (still works on XP).

But then it will probably crash on XP.

But anyway. We have a distribution for the two BONES.

Quick & dirty solution I figured out:

-Edit-> files distribution: Add the *.inf file to C:\window\inf

-Manually add VersionNt64 condition in the resulting MSI file under component -> (you can use the ORCA editor for this)

So now, in the case of XP, the *.inf file gets installed by DIFxApp.dll.

Windows 7 using the *.inf is copied directly in the windows/inf folder and installs automatically the first time that the device is connected.

I guess you can merge DIFxApp.dll (32 bit) and DIFxApp.dll (64-bit) to the MSI and manage things together, create conditions. But it is not quickly implemented. At least for me is not...

    Regards Philipp
