uninstall 'old' windows' HELP

How can I go about removing a premium of vista already installed? ' Is too much space in the c drive, me asked to choose what operating system during startup and generally makes me think about investing in a different operating system, because I told myself "I n ' T HAVE PERMISSION ON MY OWN COMPUTER" can someone help me or should I just press microsoft the bird?

Thank you for your help and time... MEST

We have no idea how you managed to have 2 versions of Vista installed.

You license allows only a SINGLE Installation.

My advice: Start over and do a clean CUSTOM install, delete the existing Partition/s in the process.

If install a cleaning is required with a good DVD of Vista (not HP, Dell recovery disks):

Go to your Bios/Setup, or the Boot Menu at startup and change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order, then reboot with the disk in the drive.

At the startup/power on you should see at the bottom of the screen either F2 or DELETE, go to Setup/Bios or F12 for the Boot Menu

  • With the help of old Windows CD to install the optional component deleted Outlook Express and I need to get it back!

We have received a Windows XP laptop from a friend and use Outlook Express for e-mail. We had a number of other things such as pilots with the laptop but not the Windows CD.  Then we wanted to reduce the size of a jpg image and I wanted to use MS Photo Editor to do what I then read on the Microsoft site that I could get by installing from any Windows CD.  Therefore, I used an old Windows XP CD from another PC, choose to install an optional component and chose as accessories to the next screen, ensure that all other options were struck down, assuming that so they would simply not be installed.  One of them was Outlook Express and Internet Explorer.  Instead of THIS the wizard DELETED Outlook Express and Internet Explorer.  When I tried to get him back by checking these options, asked me for the 2nd day of the original installation CD - which of course, I did not!  I have managed to re - download IE8 from Microsoft Download site, but of course do that for Outlook Express - and we don't have Office on this computer: (.)  Help!  (a) is it possible to reverse this process to remove/uninstall Outlook Express? (b) we now lost all our emails? (c) I already tried to go back to a previous good configuration, but that has not worked.

Thank you in advance for advice, answers or help.

First, make sure that OE has actually disappeared.  Go to start | Run and paste this and see if OE starts:

    "c:\program files\Outlook Express\msimn.exe".

Including the quotes and see if OE starts.  Very often "withdrawal" OE removes just the shortcut to it.

If this does not work, you can try reinstalling XP SP3 (http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows/help/learn-how-to-install-windows-xp-service-pack-3-sp3), but you should probably uninstall IE8 first and then reinstall it later.

You can also go to the c:\windows\inf directory and locate the msoe5.inf file and right-click on it and choose Install and see if that fixes things.

    See if that works.

I can't recover the password for an old windows live ID, which is also an old, inactive e-mail address. I've been on the windows live solutions Center, but they can't solve my problem. They continue to send a defective, condescending loop link to my e-mail address active as a soloution. It simply doesn't get it. I've been at this now since Friday. Can someone help me?

  • I recently our old Windows Vista out of storage, I'm helping with the implementation?

In fact, I have a series of questions keeping to that, but at the moment my highest priority is to find how to get it all together to the top.

We had it for 9 years, and during that time my mother was barely used and the only time I ever to remember being able to use would be in 2008 and 2012, but in those moments I was pretty young and I caused internet several related problems. After 2012, you don't really mess with it then, but now that I'm starting to regret buying a mac I recently just to set up our vista.

I got everything plugged. There is this blue connector Jack (which I assume is the monitor cord) and I connected on the screen where it belongs. There is another string (which I assume is the power cord) and it is plugged, so far, there are only two outlets in the monitor. The computer itself has a cord of black power, the mouse + keyboard cable and the cable from the monitor. Everything is plugged in and well, but after turning the computer and then proceed to turn on the monitor, I get a message that says 'No detected Signal' with three blocks under it, red, blue and green. Am I missing a cord?

One of the main reasons why I'm doing a switch from my mac to my old windows is due to PaintTool SAI, is available for Vista? And wacom is compatible with vista? It seems to be that some plug-ins to the back of the computer so that it could work. Also, would I be able to upgrade our computer to Windows 7 after setting up?

If it's a desktop pc, & 9 years old, then you must replace the battery in MB, it controls CMOS (plug & play).

Simply turn pc off, remove the battery, wait 10 min.replace with the new. Once the pc boot, enter the BIOS, reset

  • I need help importing my old Windows contacts in the Mail application

    Windows mail for windows 8

I just want my old windows mail contacts to people or post... I have saved the files to an expansion disc... but can't find how to put the files in the people... where can I find out how to do this?

    Hi Ellentavino.

You can't import contacts of the PPP to Win 8 people directly.  However, if you go to http://people.live.com and choose manage it gives you the ability to import Outlook or a CSV file.

Once these contacts are imported - it might take a while but they will eventually be replicated down to the people app in Windows 8.

  • Uninstall old updates

    Hello

My laptop runs Windows Vista and it seems that whenever I download updates, it consumes space on my hard drive. I checked and there are too many updates installed on my laptop. Because I frequently download updates, - is it ok to uninstall the very old, like those installed in 2007? It will compromise the performance and the security of my computer?

There is another thing. Whenever I try to update definitions for windows defender, the process has failed. Why does this happen?

    Help you enjoy.

    See you soon!

    Hello

Good to know that you were able to free up space.

I would recommend do not uninstall the windows updates. However, there is another place where you can remove unwanted files and folders.

    > Open Local C: drive, open users, open all users, open d, open the Local, open Temp and delete all files and folders.
NOTE: AppData is a super hidden folder. Use the following steps to display it:
    > Open the Control Panel, open Folder Options, click the view tab.
    > Under hidden files and folders, select Show files, folders and drives - WE.
    > Uncheck "hide empty drives in the computer to SEND file.
    > Uncheck "Hide extensions of files known types of MAILING.»
    > Click OK.
    > Once you open the Temp folder, delete all the files and the folders in it.
All the best! If the steps above to solve the problem, then mark the post as answer. Thank you. Amza.

  • is it safe to uninstall old updates

Don't forget not is safe to uninstall old updates from my vista

    • You have problems with programs
    • Error messages
    • Recent changes to your computer
    • What you have already tried to solve the problem

N ° you will leave your system vulnerable. However, you can (Windows XP) rank after Windows updates.

    See: http://taurarian.mvps.org/WU_XP/removing_old_windows_updates.htm
    Remove the old Windows updates

Folders that have uninstall as part of the name (for example $NtUninstallKB282010$ who reside in C:\windows (hidden files) are window Hot difficulty updating folders/files) can be removed safely (providing ever, you wish to uninstall the updates). I recommend you leave these records for a period of at least one month to make sure that the update works correctly.

These updates can be removed individually or together. To learn more about the update/s go on:
    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/xxxxxx
NB: XXXXXX = the actual number, not to mention the "Q" or "Ko."

Once you have removed the uninstall folders/files, then go to control panel, add/remove programs. Select the title of the corresponding Windows fix on the folder/file of the patch you just deleted, and select Delete. You will get a Windows error. This is because you deleted the uninstall folder/files. Simply choose OK and the entry will be removed from the Add/Remove Programs list.

  • Color background of the old Windows Notepad and old Internet Explorer

Two questions really. (1) what was the color of old Windows Notepad? I remember originally he was not white, but a dull kind of ish. The question is what is the value of that color in hexadecimal html (#)? (2) what was the default color of the old Internet Explore (for example Internet Explorer 4 for example), which he became white? In the old days, if you use IE4 to view a Web site that did not "bgcolor" in the body tag, you were presented with a background of dull ish, default to the browser. The question is once again, what is the value of that color dull ish in hexadecimal html (#)? Thanks a lot for your help!

And Microsoft sells more than 7.

Go to your computer / computer laptop manufacturer Web site and see if Windows 7 drivers are available for your make and model computer / laptop.

If this is not available, Windows 7 will not properly work for you.

    Hello

    You can view these methods:
    Method 1:
I can't open the help that was created in Windows Help format (WinHlp32.exe)
    Method 2:
Try the SFC scan on the computer.
SFC/scannow is a very useful command that you can use in any version of Windows. When the SFC (System File Checker) command is used with the/scannow switch, the tool analyzes all the important files of Windows on your computer and replace if necessary.
Missing and the corruption of the operating system (like many DLLs) files are probably the main cause of the major problems of Windows. In view of this, plus the fact that the SFC/scannow is completely automatic and very easy to use, the tool should be usually one of your top not troubleshooting.
