    Hello

I am running a copy retail of Windows 7 Ultimate on a desktop PC I built myself.

I'm about to replace many items, for all intensive purposes, construction of a new computer. I want to continue to use my Windows 7 license on the new system, but some of the forum posts I've seen suggests that I would need to remove Windows 7 from my current set in place before reinstalling so as not to invalidate the license agreement.

My question is that Windows 7 has been a new installation on my current PC, there is no previous operating system to come back. How can I do to remove or disable at least Windows 7 so that I can use it on my new build?

To make things more complicated, I have recently booked 10 Windows download through the app and would this be installed on my new PC, once it is available. How can I transfer Windows 7 and make sure my Windows reserved 10 downloads for the new generation?

Please note, in order to transfer the Windows 7 Ultimate license, but a full commercial license. Also, since you will sit there, free upgrade offer for Windows 10 will not be valid for this computer. As long as you remove the Windows 7 and transfer then reselect, the new machine will be automatically eligible for the free upgrade.

    Remove the current installation.

    Click Start, type: CMD
    Right-click on CMD
    Click on run as administrator
At the command prompt, type: slmgr.vbs - upk

Press enter, this will uninstall the product key of the computer and to the evaluation mode, you are now free to use it on another computer. If you experience problems, try to activate by phone:

    2. restart your computer
    3. When asked if you want to boot from your DVD player, do it.
    4. Select your language, click Next.
    5. click on "repair your computer".

  • Hi I need help to uninstall Windows xp by using the F keys.

I checked the places of response and they tell you a whole different way in this way and I tried but it won't work.  I also tried to restore my computer back before that I was thinking when I got the Virus, but that only goes so far I'm crazy to go.  Please help me I need my computer for work.

    Thank you very much

    Thank you

    auntsands50,
Thanks for posting on the Microsoft answers Forum.  I need to get the details on your situation.  You say that you want to uninstall XP?  It will be the only way to install another operating system or use a program that will allow you to erase the hard drive.  You mention that you got a virus and you tried to do a restore.

So my question is what are you trying finally to accomplish?  Do you want to just get a virus on your system or you want to wipe the drive and reinstall XP.

If you want to remove a virus, then here is a link to a program free antivirus that you can use to help clean your system: http://www.microsoft.com/Security_essentials/

If you want to restore your system to factory default then you will need to boot from your XP cd or use the OEM solutions provided with your PC.  http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/316941 Mike - Engineer Support Microsoft Answers

  • Reinstall the Vista Ultimate upgrade after replacing hard drive - remove Windows PowerShell

My HDD recently crashed and the manufacturer (Dell) gave me a new one with the software and systems II had orginially purchased pre-installed on the drive.  In this case, I had Vista Home Premium installed.  I got about a year ago, bought and upgraded to Vista Ultimate and I'm now trying to reinstall (I have it on DVD).  When I do, I get a message that I must remove Windows PowerShell before upgrade.  I can't find PowerShell in the application removal utility, even if I can find it when I search in the start menu.

Any thoughts on how to deal with this?

In addition, since the beginning of this thread, I found the following instructions in another thread:

    How to uninstall Windows PowerShell

To uninstall Windows PowerShell 1.0 in Windows Vista, follow these steps:

    1. Click Start, in the Search box, type appwiz.cpl and press ENTER.
    2. In the tasks list, click View Installed Updates.
    3. In the list to uninstall an update , right-click right of Windows PowerShell (TM) 1.0 (KB928439), click on uninstall and follow the instructions to remove Windows PowerShell 1.0.

But, I do not see Windows PowerShell (TM) 1.0 (KB928439) in the generated list (although there are many, many others).  I found three programs of powershell appears when I put in the search box of start powershell.  Can I just delete them?

    Thank you.

Try download Revo http://www.snapfiles.com/reviews/revo-uninstaller/revouninstaller.html to uninstall all the programs of PowerShell.  I hope that you will find the main program so it can be uninstalled.

If that doesn't work, uninstall each update of PowerShell that you find.  Also, check the master list of program to see if you can find.  A when done, reboot and start the installation again and see if you come up against the same error.  If so, we may have to try another way to get rid of it - but we will cross that bridge if we come to it.

    I hope this helps.

    Good luck!
