Uninstalling previous versions of app?

You uninstall earlier versions or it will replace the new facility?

Hi Susan,.

If you are using the creative cloud then you can have the previous versions on the computer & you don't necessarily have to uninstall them before installing the latest version.

However, it is recommended to uninstall older products, if you have the latest version installed because most of them have the features of old on them & remove old products will create more space on the hard drive of the computer that will be beneficial to the performance of the system.

Thank you

  • Must I first uninstall previous versions of adobe software when I install a new version?

I use creative cloud for a few years now and have always wondered why would I need a previous version of the software. Whereas these unused software versions are just sitting on my hard drive and too much room... can anyone think a good reason why I should not uninstall these older versions of software Photoshop, Illustrator, etc. ?

    Thank you, Tom

It can depend on which versions are these older versions.  If these are versions of cloud so I don't think hesitated to get rid of the older ones.  But if they are of a Creative Suite if you think they have features that the newer versions were stripped of their Flash, for example, had a number of useful components ripped out of it when they came out with the version of cloud.

Yes, you can. Just be sure to use the appropriate uninstall programs. In addition, after you have run uninstall, things like file associations will be dismantled and you must run the Creative Suite cleanup tool and leave the AAM to reinstall applications to solve this problem.

  • SmartView 11.1.2 install won't be overwritten by uninstalled previous version

I don't know how to explain it, but my installation of SmartView 11.1.2 is to be replaced by the previous version of uninstalled (11.1.1.3).

Windows 2008 32-bit with SPs all installed on our server, we had installed 11.1.1.3 and we uninstalled. Next, we removed the c:\hyperion directory. We rebooted and then installed smartview 11.1.2.0 which seems to go in the c:\oracle\product\smartiew directory.

When the first new user connects and opens Excel, a small program starts to run and SmartView 11.1.2.0 gets set up and Excel shows a "Smart View" tab.

All goes well until a user that was previously using Smartview 11.1.1.3 launches Excel... When they launch Excel it starts an installer that recreates the c:\hyperion directory and installs 11.1.1.3 and then Excel opens with a tab "Hyperion".

New users who had previously never used 11.1.1.3 are are still in 11.1.2.0 until they have close Excel. The next time that they open they have more 11.1.2.0 SmartView tab but have instead 11.1.1.3 Hyperion tab.

We never seen it before or have ideas on how to stop it?

Note: I redid my steps once more. The 11.1.2.0 version installs by default to c:\oracle\smartview not c:\oracle\product\smartview.

Also, I searched the entire server for .msi and .exe files and may have found the culprit. After running the following & selecting uninstall appears I maybe 11.1.2.0 works for all users:

c:\Windows\Installer\ab630db.msi as of 2010-07-30 15:59 author: Oracle size: 7,223 KB.

  • To uninstall previous versions of firefox.

I currently have Firefox 14.0.1 installed and working properly. According to my Panel, Firefox 5.0, 6.0.1 and 13.0 are always installed or on the programs in the list anyway. How can I get rid of them? I can't seem to locate the folder, it is said that they are, and that they disappear from the list of programs.

Which came probably only remains registry (an orphan) that have not been deleted by the update and the version of Firefox is referred are no longer present.

Easier is to use the registry editor to remove these entries yourself manually.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones impossible to uninstall previous versions of software

I just got a new Curve 8330 and wanted to install the last v4.5 of office under Windows XP SP2 software.

I have a 7250 and then a 8703e.  At the time I had the 7250, I installed the Software v4.2.  When I arrived the 8703e, I installed the software of her CD which is entitled "BlackBerry v4.1.0 for the 8703e series Wireless Device".  Both are currently present in Windows ' Add/Remove Programs ".

When I try to uninstall the Software v4.2, he invites me to "disc of BlackBerry Desktop Software 4.2".  I do not have a disk (I don't even remember if I installed it on a CD or on the web), so I downloaded site Web de Blackberry v4.2 and tried to re - install with the hope that it would be to decompress the installation files or something so I could fool the uninstall program thinking I had the CD.  No luck... He tells me that I have a newer version already installed.

Okay, so I'm trying to uninstall the 8703e software, and he invites me to "BlackBerry 8703e.msi" which is not on my computer anywhere.  In fact, I have the installation CD, so I only pop in and find this file... Nope, not on the CD.  I even try pointing the prompt to the msi installer file which is here ("BlackBerry Desktop Software.msi"), but it's not accept it.  Thinking that maybe I can re - install the software to see if it unpacks the necessary msi file, it tells me that I have a newer version already installed.

So, I'm basically in a circle without end... Can someone help me with this please?  Thanks in advance!

Try these instructions... Perform an uninstall of BlackBerry Desktop Software

  • To uninstall previous versions of Creative Suite applications

Summer works in 2014 CC for awhile now, want to delete CS4 through 5.5 applications that are still on my computer, because they are no longer in the Mavericks or Yosemite.

I still have records for that sort of thing. I have run the programs to uninstall their share, or recycle bin, files, or what? I see something on a CC Cleaner, but I want to make sure my apps CS6 and CC remain intact.

Your feedback is greatly appreciated. Thank you!

use the programs to uninstall adobe for those you want to uninstall.  do not use the vacuum cleaner unless you try to reinstall and have problems.

  • Uninstalling previous versions of the components

I've now updated my Photoshop CS4, but my other Adobe (Dreamweaver, Premiere pro, still) products are CS3 until CS4 Bridge has been installed next to Bridge CS3

My question is, can I uninstall Bridge CS3 because I use it is no longer, without creating problems in CS3 products or if it is really necessary for these products?

Moreover, on the handler Extension & Device Central CS3? Can I safely uninstall without creating problems for me?

    Thank you

CS3 and CS4 are two stand alone products, if neither one affects the other.  B

If you want to uninstall a product, you need to use the Windows uninstaller in the control panel.  Bridge is not a separate product, delivered with photoshop, so you will need to uninstall CS3.

If you try to simply remove the components, you will end up with a mess.
