  • M60: Turns off after power loss

My M60 sometimes turns off immediately after unplugging the power supply (AC power or plug the laptop CC), instead of out on the battery even though the battery is fully charged.
The battery is OK & the laptop starts regularly on the battery after pressing the on switch.
The Toshiba Power Saver seems to work OK & I have the latest version of the BIOS.
I always save my work before unplugging, but again, I do not like this behavior & would appreciate some good advice.

    Hello

I agree with tom, and the device must be checked by the service. I think there is something wrong with electronic power supply. If the battery has only 20% of capacity by removing the AC adapter / CC unit should not stop.

I hope that you will find what is the problem.

Satellite M55 turns off by unplugging the power cable to unplug my laptop making rather that to the battery, my laptop will often simply turn off even though the battery is fully charged. Other time things work as it should.

I had the motherboard replaced for another reason and was quite surprised to notice the problem after a replacement (but without reinstalling OS).
The main suspect is the TPS and its pilot; A few months ago, a new version is released the Toshiba support site for M60 (although file dates are not fresh, and I think that I have installed this version earlier).

So, I removed the GST and the GST pilot. I tried several times and it didn't happen again. Not even when I reinstalled the.

During the test, I have disabled the HD write cache to avoid file corruption problems (but this slows down HD operation, particularly of hibernation).
I don't know if it works because also earlier the computer would be closed only occasionally, not all the time. But this may be a clue in case you have this problem. If you do, please test and report the result, no matter what the result is.

What to say dude. The problem is that this problem occurs ONLY occasionally and so it's not easy to find the real reason for these cases.

However, I would try to give some useful advice, but first of all, it would be useful to know how old your battery.
Fact is that batteries old and stressed loose clean performance very quickly.
My battery is about 3 years and my laptop running on battery for 10-20 seconds even if it s fully charged. The performance is simple very low!

On the other hand the problem could be related to faulty electronic power to the Board of Directors
As you can see it's not easy to tell what's exactly wrong and as already suggested in other threads (locked), you should ask a technician for a control of the laptop.
The guy could run diagnostics tests and can locate the fault.

  • UEFI auto turn on after power failure

I bought a desktop computer HP Pavillion PC500-225es (have a holiday home in Spain where the suffix are).

It is running Windows 8.1 equipped a UEFI BIOS.

I want the PC automatically restarts when power is restored after a power failure, but I don't see any option to do this in the UEFI BIOS. Is it normal for a UEFI BIOS? I have had many computers with a BIOS for old style and that I can remember all had the ability to set the auto restart after power fail.

I don't know how a UEFI BIOS integrates with Windows 8.1 but I see no option for this in point 8.1 of Windows either.

    Someone at - it ideas?

In addition, because the PC was bought in Spain, the BIOS is in Spanish. It seems not be anyway to change that in English, my native language. Not a big problem I can get in Spanish and may apply to the Google translate if I have to, but it would be easier if there was an option to switch to English.

I ran the HP Support Assistant, and everything is up-to-date, there is no update to download BIOS.

I guess I'm just stuck with the situation unless HP come with an update of the BIOS to add installation.

Please see the BIOS for the motherboard Jasmine settings the settings you are looking for. Although this document is intended for the 'Jasmine' motherboard and your computer uses the "JasmineR', the settings should be similar if not the same thing.

To access the BIOS Setup page... "Turn on the computer and immediately press the F10 key repeatedly, once per second, until the opening of the Computer Configuration utility."

The following options are found in the Power Options:

Messages POST (Power On Self Test) Turn on or off
After the loss of power Previous state, or disable
POSITION of delay (in seconds) Zero, 5, 10, 15, 20 or 60 seconds

  • After running for 1-2 hrs closed windows, not to wait about 5 minutes to turn off turn back on. What can cause my computer shut down

While on the internet (firefox) after using it for about an hour my computer shuts down automatically for no reason.  I have to wait about 5 minutes to turn back.  During the restoration of my session, I get this message "the script is not responding," if I hit continue Firefox closes running.

There are several reasons that the PC automatically stops due to the error, usually you would see blue screen and system restart. It could be a hardware or software error. Windows check log and see what the cause was also check problem and solution center and see if something is there. Also update your Windows and run the disk check. • Satellite M30X-111 died after about 15 sec after power to the top

    Hello
My M30X 111 died after about 15 sec after power upward. The blue light comes on, the fan starts and then turns off & the dies machine - however, the blue switch remains on. Then I have to keep the power button up to swith off the machine.

I can't go as far as the BIOS and it does not start from CD, etc.

    Thanks in anticipation,

    Hello

The laptop goes to home Toshiba screen?
If yes there is no hardware malfunction but perhaps something wrong with the software.

You suggested that it of not possible to enter the BIOS. How have you tried to get into the BIOS?
As far as I know, this unit uses a Phoenix BIOS so you must press the F2 key immediately after switching on. Press the "F2" key several times to make sure that the option has been enabled.

The alternative to boot from the CD/DVD drive is using the C key. The same procedure here: press the C key immediately after starting the laptop.
(the CD must be inserted before you start)

  • Satellite P30 seems to completely charge the battery only when the unit is turned off completely

Hi, I have my Toshiba Satellite p30 and only works on battery. This unit operate on sector or only on the battery as after the period of time go down the warning, then closes. The orange light fades in and out, but seems that it will only fully charge when the unit is turned off completely.

I only just received this unit so bit of a novice.

    MASH

    Hello

normally, the battery should always charge until it is full when the power is connected.
If you have an orange light flashes, it means that something is wrong. Maybe your battery is faulty or something else. This should be checked by a technician.

    Good bye

  • Rocket + turned off and won't turn back on

I know I had some battery life left on this unit for some reason right after that I turned it on, it is the Welcome screen flashed / loading and transformed in reverse. It not light anything. When I connected on the computer with the right power cord USB, no response. It remained offshore. I even changed USB ports and it is still now a broken thing.

My old (Coby) MP3 player randomly off himself, but everything I have to do is press the reset button and all the repressed onl. There is no reset button required on the "rocket". This rocket, I bought 3 months ago. It's under warranty? I would like to get a new one.

Press on and press and hold power for 20 seconds to reset the device, and then try to turn on again.  If the battery is really low, leave only it connected to the USB port for a while and wake it up - screen displays the USB icon.

  • Alienware 15 - R2, brand new, AGA, after power cord

    Hi all

I just got last Friday my brand new Alienware 15 - R2 with AGA (Alienware graphics amplifier) and GTX 1070. All the work perfect, except the food. For some reason any after brick power play is connected after a few hours just unplug its self. Plug is still connected to the computer laptop but is jump light blue on the cord and laptop said to use more performance please plug power adapter when the adapter is connected.

For now the only solution is to unplug and plug it in again and the light and laptop power is back, could someone help? BIOS has been updated twice and is more recent, I swapped the power cable from the amplifier and did not help.

    UPDATE:

I found that I can play so long and everything seems to be ok until what I stopped game, power cord loses all power (the blue led turns off) and to get the power back to my power brick, I need to plug out and plug it into the wall.

OK, so the problem was solved when I replaced power :-) run all day on the new power brick and no problem.

  • "HP OFficejet Pro L7680 turns off and won't turn back on"

HP OFficejet Pro L7680 turns off and won't turn back on.

    Hello untech,.

I see it's been a while since you have posted with us on the HP Forums.  Please, let me take a moment to say "Welcome Back".

I see that you have a problem with the printer l ' auto turn off and not turning it back on.

You happen to have the printer power cable connected to a power strip/bar?  If so, please try to connect the printers power cable directly to a wall outlet.  Here is a document that explains the problems when connected to an uninterruptible power supply/Strip/surge protector power.

The printer in the document is a LaserJet printer but this document is intended for HP products in general and only use the LaserJet printers for example.

I'll also include a document indicating when the HP printer will not be running or to respond when the power button is pressed.

If by chance the problem is not resolved after you complete the steps described, then I would say call the HP Technical Support to see all the other possibilities for you. If you call in North America, the number is 1-800-474-6836 and for all other regions, please click here: click here.

Please do not hesitate to write me again if you have any other questions.

I wish you a great Monday!

    See you soon,.
