SIM: disable

This usually means that the device has been blocked by the carrier. Cause usually it has been lost or stolen.

Cannot be reversed.

Have you tried to remove the battery from the device (restart it)?

If this does not work, you can try to update to the latest OS (follow the instructions... exactly... in the first post of this thread):

  • Turn off the blackBerry blackberry bold 9900 screen Smartphones

    Hi all

I had a blackberry bold 9900. It's a good phone, but the touchscreen trouble me.

Can you explain to me how can I disable tactil on my screen of my blackerry bold 9900. I would use my phone with my keyboard, my fingers are too big for the lastest technology tactil...

    Thanks guys and best regards

The only thing I think would be physically unplug the cable, however, the device does not work properly because there was not enough load on the circuit, and some components would not work correctly I believe because I broke a BB bolding 9930 keyboard flex cable and the device got so hot and closed off the coast until I changed the keyboard. I think the 99xx is designed to be perfectly balanced wise tension and no component could not be disconnected because of this.

  • Blackberry Curve 8320 unlocked blackBerry smartphones

    Hello

I have not actually bought my Blackberry yet, but I'm looking into it right now. I want to buy a unlocked Blackberry Curve 8320 which was previously on AT & T or T-mobile (I'm a couple more different). Anyway, I wanted to buy a Blackberry and place it on a data plan with Rogers Canada. I'm doing this because I want to be able to use BBM, so I think I need a data plan.

I buy the Blackberry separately because I want to be able to use overseas when I use another GSM SIM card for example. I know doing it on contract is cheaper, but I don't want to do that because I will be locked on a 3 year contract and I won't be at the Canada for 3 years.

I just want to know if the Rogers data network will work with a Blackberry unlocked as I described above. I asked Rogers customer service and they said that they cannot confirm that the Rogers data network will be to 'connect' with the unlocked Blackberry because it once belonged to another provider and I should buy a Blackberry from Rogers. I don't know if they just said that if I would buy the Blackberry from Rogers rather than elsewhere. I know the unlocked Blackberry should work fine with a regular for calls and SMS GSM SIM card and all that but I want to know specifically about BBM - ing.

Sorry, my question is so long. Thanks a lot for your help!

While Canadian companies may be different from their American counterarts I do not that the differences are only significant to materially affect my response.

When you buy a 'new' locked onto a support device will be offered the device at a price at a price significantly lower than the retail price recommended for her.  That's what prescribed contractual lock in as they recover for the duration of the contract, the difference between what you pay and the cost.  They're subsidizing the price in order to collect a healthy monthly fees for access.

All U.S. carriers require a data plan for smartphones in addition to any general "plans" for just minutes and text packages etc.  I guess that Canadian businesses require the same.

In order to use BBM you need a dataplan carriers which is what allows your device use the features of the BIS (Blackberry Internet service) requiring Blackberry data push, e-mail, all what is "data".

This is a new in the box device purchased by your friends at Rogers.  They sold you a Blackberry and they dance as they listen to the registry will chaching.  This is music to their ears.  This is an item being sold and it is "locked" to Rogers.  Of course, for each month of your servitude under contract happen to dance again once the Registry continues to provide them with more chaching.

You bought a camera from them, you can use it at this stage only with them.  They will be as you might or might not be aware subject to various and assorted penalties if you tire of their service or their absence and take your business elsewhere, or try.  Costs of early termination can easily exceed your initial cost plus for a premium, in a credit institution, violating laws governing wear.

It's what keeps dissatisfied customers even with the carriers that are less satisfactory.  It is just too expensive to leave while allowing some, but not all carriers for you 'sell' the balance of your contract to another.  If Rogers of permits that are unknown to me.

If you buy an "unlocked" device it is expected of the band is compatible with Rogers (GSM/CDMA as the case may be) perfectly capable to be activated on their network.

Their after-sales service is to use a euphemism, blowing smoke.  They know perfectly well that a device unlocked regardless of its origin.  They won't make you a device for which they do not receive rewarding chaching first and make run on their network.  Since you did not pay a subsidized price for the device that you are not obliged to a three-year plan or some length Rogers requires for locked for new devices.

While they play stupid indeed hoping you will buy them and locked himself in a service contract.  It's guaranteed money for thirty-six months.  It's a lot of money.

Assuming you get to admit only a 8320 unlocked (GSM) will play well with their network that you can buy a phone, monthly data on the plan without being locked in a period of time.

You will absolutely need the dataplan however, at least the minimum plan they offer will prevent access to the services that make it a Blackberry.

Of major importance for you in as long as purchaser of a used instrument is the only one not is indeed "unlocked" but the PIN was released by the former owner and the access to its carrier, T-Mobile or AT & T.  Every Blackberry is assigned a unique PIN that lives with her forever.  For example, if I want to sell my unlocked Blackberry Storm I will have to make arrangements for the release of the Verizon PIN so that a subsequent purchaser can activate the storm on Verizon (my service provider) or such that it is unlocked any service provider, as it really is a universal device capable of activation on a CDMA/GSM/UMTS network or Global.

I would like to buy a used if and only if it is verifiable that the PIN was released by the previous owner/carrier.  With the instrument in hand, it can be checked on the device or not it is unlocked.  The output of the SPINDLE must be verified by the previous carrier and I'm too cynical, but I wouldn't take the word of the seller unless it was a very trustworthy family member and even then, I would like to politely ask for verification.

Rogers wants money on your part.  They want the money upfront to sell you a Blackberry and they want the contract guaranteed money for the long term for the months down the line.  For Rogers, it's win/win.

You can, even if it's an expensive to buy a new device of Rogers at the MSRP and not you will not lock in a three-year contract.  The majority of carriers who does not advertise that the difference is more than lost long-term do not lock you in their.

I hope this helps.  If I appear cynical, it's because I am.  Carriers are there to increase their profits and integrity is lost in the maze.

  • My screen blackBerry Smartphones has been frozen all day? Help, please!

Okay so I recently bought a blackberry 9800 torch of my friend, its not in poor condition but it has a few scratches on it. the phone also worked well for her.

    Thanks for your help

Hello and welcome to the community!

Given your procurement method, I recommend that to start here:

    • KB05099 Steps to take before selling or after the purchase of a used BlackBerry smartphone

Ensure that all measures are properly carried out in order to completely divorce the BB from accounts of friends and thus to be able to create entirely what you need for you alone.

Regarding your question as stated, I recommend that you try to start safe mode:

    • KB17877 How to start a smartphone BlackBerry in Mode safe

It will take several attempts to get the combination of keys ESC (press/release/hold) OK, so be patient. When properly in Safe Mode, see what happens.

If the behavior continues, then well... think what happened just before this behavior started? A new application? An update? A theme? Something else? Think carefully that the slightest change can be causal... and try to undo all that was.

But if the behavior continues mode without failure, you may need to consider more drastic measures - WIPE, OS Reload, BBSAK Wipe/Reload and the process of reloading OS 'skeleton '. To prepare, you should be sure that you have a full backup of your PC... Please see the Backup link in my sig auto on this post for instructions.

  • Unlocking blackBerry Smartphones 8830 World Edition GSM and code provider

    Hello

I'm a guy unsavvy tech and have an 8830 World Edition phone. Bought this from Auntie Indicom (Vendor ID: 269), a CDMA operator which also provided a GSM SIM for only international roaming. Last month, number portability Mobile came into India, and I went to a GSM provider, Vodafone India. After the transfer of numbers, simply inserted the new Vodafone SIM and the phone and Blackberry services are working well with the new operator. Two questions:

    1. from the Options-> advanced-> SIM card Options, after typing MEPD, I see:

    ID: a large number

    Customization:

    Disabled SIM

    Active network

    Network subset disabled

    Service Provider disabled

    People with reduced mobility

Does this mean that my Blackberry is locked? If Yes, is it blocked by Vodafone? Given that I have moved the Auntie service provider Vodafone and does not seem to wear the same number on the same phone, aunt locked the phone.

    2. type Alt-EACE, I always see the Vendor ID 269 (Auntie). See also the logo of Auntie initially upwards. Is it possible that I can change the ID of the seller or at least stop getting the start screen for the old vendor? This ID Vendo has something to do with the above-mentioned lock?

Would be very grateful if some kind soul illuminates.

    Thank you

    Paul

There must be something different on a BB WE that allows the use of other SIMs, though always stuck at home carrier. Odd, but your experience proves the theory. I seriously doubt that release will make a difference, but certainly to try I guess.

I don't know why your BB is as you describe... but, I want to propose the following steps, in order, even if they seem redundant to what you have already tried. However, you want to be careful here. I don't know how you originally got your BB running services on your current operator. All BB services are controlled by the Service books. If a carrier does not natively support a BB model on their network, there are a few things that need to be taken to get these SBs on than non-native BB. If only it had to do, don't go here... you could just wipe out all your services level of BB. But if none of these tricks are required (which would mean that your carrier supports natively your BB model), then you should be safe to go ahead.

Steps 1 and 2 each should translate into a message to your BB to come:

    (1) registry HRT

    • KB00510 How to register a BlackBerry smartphone with wireless network

    (2) Service reference books

    • KB02830 Send the directories for the BlackBerry Internet Service

    (3) restart to take batt

    • Each time a random strange behavior or slow creeps, the first thing to do is a battery pop reboot. With power ON, remove the hood back and remove the battery. Wait a minute, then replace the battery and cover. Power on and wait patiently through the long reboot - about 5 minutes. See if things return to functioning. Like all computing devices, BB suffers from memory leaks and others... with a hard reboot is the best remedy.

Maybe it will make a difference. I really do not know about you, to be honest. It's a tricky business, and you can well serve just as well by getting a new BB you get from your carrier... which by the way, you would have at least that the formal support at your disposal channel.

    Good luck!

Similarly, until you get the generic TMO service books copied on from TMO so pushed tutorial, you won't get anywhere.

  • Browser blackBerry Smartphones bing says no network connection. Help, please!

I just updated my 8530, and now when I open my browser bing, he said: no network connection, but I have all networks enabled and I'm typing this from my blackberry on verizon service, what can I do to fix my phone, can I recharge the old software? Please help me!

Hello and welcome to the community!

With a strong carrier network (for example, not only WiFi), I suggest the following steps, in order, even if they seem redundant to what you have already tried (steps 1 and 2, each should result in a message from your BB... Please wait just before moving on to the next step):

    1) register HRT

    • KB00510 How to register a BlackBerry smartphone with wireless network
    • Please wait a 'registration' message reach your Messages application

    2) return Service books (pre-BB10 only devices)

    • KB02830 Send the directories for the BlackBerry Internet Service
    • Please wait "the Activation' Messages, one per already configured e-mail account, arrive in your Messages. If you have not already configured email accounts, please wait 1 hour.

    3) restart

    • With power ON, remove the hood back and remove the battery. Wait a minute, then replace the battery and cover. Power on and wait patiently through the long reboot - about 5 minutes.
    • See if things return to functioning. Like all computing devices, BB suffers from memory leaks and others... with a hard reboot is the best remedy.

I hope that will move things again for you! If this isn't the case, then you should contact your mobile provider for formal support.

    Good luck!
