Unnecessary error messages

My problem is a bit unusual, because the printer works very well indeed! The problem is that I get boring and constant error messages whenever I print. A message says something like, "the print head cartridge is unable to move. Please install a new cartridge before continuing. ' Another said: "there is an incompatible cartridge installed. "Of course, the ink cartridges are the right number and the brand because the printer works without problem. There are 2 or 3 other messages that always display. What is the problem?

How can I stop these useless error messages?

I'm guessing that you may have already seen this information from what you describe, but I want to make sure that you have tried all the steps in the document found here.

So I have the steps to perform a reset on the printer.  I'll send these steps for you in a private message.  Please read Bob_Headrick wire on the printer reset, found here, before you perform these steps.

  • ERROR MESSAGE HP6700 - PROBLEM WITH THE PRINTER OR INK SYSTEM CONTACT HP

I JUST BOUGHT A HP OFFICEJET 6700 (LESS THAN 1 WEEK), THE PROBLEM OF PRINTER OR INK SYSTEM MESSAGE, TURN PRINTER OFF THEN WE IF THE PROBLEM CONTINUES CONTACT HP. IS DISPLAYED ON THE PRINTER SCREEN. I DID EVERYTHING SUGGESTED, AND MORE MORE, BUT THIS CUSTOM MESSAGE CLEARLY.  ALL DIAGNOSES OF THE PRINTER THE PRINTER IS FINE.  THE OPERATING SYSTEM IS WINDOWS 7.

    Mahamoud,
Your article made a walkthrough basic troubleshooting, ending with the question if the print head is repairable. Because it is not on the 6700, the article isn't really the problem.

Here is the solution I found to this problem:
I discovered that eliminating all ink cartridges allows the printer at startup (although there is a message saying the missing print cartridges).
Putting the cartridges in a binary regression revealed that the ink has been bad. (In my case, I only got the message of failure/printer ink when the yellow cartridge was in the printer).
Replacement of the restored cartridge the printer functionality.
    That's the good news.
Now the bad news: for HP.
The generic error message indicates a failure with the printer or the ink system. No differentiation. With the electronics in the cartridges (that the client pays a high price for), looks that HP could not understand how to indicate a cartridge problem. This error message is not only unnecessary, but misleading. The printer indicates only a power reset and then contact HP. There is no indication that he might be a cartridge problem, not to mention what cartridge has failed. By the way, my customer encountered this problem when you replace the color cartridges. The cartridge failed was a new replacement.
All of the web enabled features, fax, scanning features, print included with this printer are not very useful if the user can't get the dang thing to print.
Another problem with this printer, is that, even when you only print in b & W, the printer uses little color (ostensibly make Blacks more "BOLD"). Then, finally, a color cartridge will go low or empty, even if only B & W printing. And guess what, you can't continue to print n & B if one of the color cartridges are out of ink. Thus, HP... How is this useful printer in an office environment, where most print tends to be B & W?

(I would add; the solution in the message of failure/printer ink cartridge cannot fix your problem if, in fact, there are a few default printer. But if the problem is in the ink system, then the troubleshooting cartridge can help you).
I have posted similar comments on Amazon, for this printer, in the subject line: shame on you, HP.

  • Error messages that tell me NOTHING!

Why do I get error messages that tell me nothing? For example, I am trying to save a file on my computer XP (I am currently working with 3 machines, each of the XP, Vista and Win7); the proposed file name is simple and contains only letters, numbers, spaces, and perhaps a dashboard, but no characters such as *, /, (or). I get an error message that gives me the name of file, in this case Islnd smplr resz - E4878. JAN, said only "the name of the file above is not valid."  This tells me absolutely NOTHING!  No clues to explain WHY the name is not valid, how to solve this problem, no help AT ALL!  It's extremely frustrating, and I'm not playing "Guess What's On My Mind" with a tenacious computer fun. Microsoft, if you're going to have error messages, make sure they actually provide useful information!

One thing you might try is to save it as something even more simple - like "A.JAN" and later [try] rename.

Another possibility, in that you might be running is the limitation that the complete file, including its full path name, should not exceed 256 characters.  Whenever this happens, the error messages given by Windows are extremely obtuse and unnecessary.  The name of your file is relatively long, this is a possibility.

""Filename is not valid"error save or open the file.

  • Get rid of alignment and error messages notifications genuine HP cartridge

The product name and number: HP Deskjet 3050 a

    Operating system: Windows XP

    Error message (s):

    1. your are not aligned on your print cartridges

    2. you have a used or counterfeit ink cartridge

Changes to the system: I opened the door to the lander to find the product.

    Problem #1:

I can't print a correct alignment page because my color ink cartridge is out.  I don't have the impression of color - I am a teacher, and it comes to my computer in the classroom.  I can't afford to buy an ink cartridge of color that will not be used and only dry.  (If someone makes a black ink-only all-in-one, I would buy it in a blink of an eye).  I get a message before each print job, and after each print job advising me that I have have not aligned my print cartridges. I KNOW that I've not aligned their.  On every other printer I've ever had, these messages disappear after I click on "Don't align."  Not on my HP Deskjet 3050's!  I see these messages up to 40 times a day, and he drives me over the edge.  Other than the purchase of one ink color or clamping cartridge this printer in the trash and buy a Lexmark, how do I get rid of these messages?

    Problem #2:

Added to messages "SNAP SNAP ALIGN" infuriating, as of today, I also get a nice "is a cartridge of ink used or infringement" whenever I print.  Guess how many times I get THIS message every time until I am allowed to print? THREE TIMES! So if I print 20 pages per day which is 60 FREAKING additional unnecessary and false messages I get after trying to find my product number for technical support for the first problem. How can I get rid of this new message?

Sorry for the snark, but it was a heck of a day in the land of HP.  Thanks in advance for any assistance you can provide

    Sincerely,

A customer of HP printer long of life (and perhaps soon-to-be-former)

The software that allows this printer to work on Windows XP doesn't have an option to disable this feature. These are messages of maintenance of the printer and the software should show them.

I don't know of a workaround for this either. I hope this helps.

  • When I try to copy a file to an external device using Windows Explorer I get the following error message: "cannot copy. The directory or file cannot be created. »

original title: could not copy files

When I try to copy a file to an external device using Windows Explorer I get the following error message: "cannot copy.  The directory or file cannot be created. "I understand that I may have the physical limit of USB keys for the root directory.  How can I fix it?

    Hi GloriaZF,

What is the size of your external hard drive and what is the available free space? Open my computer-> right click on the external hard drive-> properties. You will not be able to copy more data if the disk is full, or who have less space compared to the size of the file you are trying to copy.

You need to remove the order data to make the space more. Deleted data from the device USB will be permanently deleted and will not be stored in your Inbox, so take care while eliminating unnecessary data.

    I hope this helps.

It is not an error so it's just to tell you that, due to low memory, the program that you are using is not respoding or takes to respond when you click Open program, it gives u this menu to move forward.

  • My printer HP Photosmart C310 provided false error message "paper jam".

Line contacted HP support comrade with the focus East India, after asking the age of my printer, has reported that the pilots had "expired", saying they were only good for 1-2 years and offered to fix the problem for $37.  Access my computer, interaction has been put in place between me and yet another person and we have communicated on a tablet of sorts, all in a display cursor through the computer. After several minutes, the problem was pronounced fixed, even if initially, remained the same.  After a video and following the steps of repair (which I had already done several times) jam of the supposed paper - or the message saying that there is a--went, and the printer became indeed useful.

Then the first fellow reminded me that I owed him $37 and proposed to replace my security system with installation of Microsoft anti-virus Norton, a PC cleaner to remove unnecessary files and errors and unlimited technical support for 1 year - for $100 + life - I declined.

Was - this legitimate? A process of aid approved by HP?

I was thinking the problem was somehow inserted into my printer by these people and not inclined to pay.

My suspicion is strengthened by having at the same time received an email from a credit card company, saying that my account has been suspended after too many login attempts had been made.  I had none, and a call that revealed to them that the account had not been suspended.

Operating system of Windows Vista 64 - bit, error message "Paper jam", no change before the error occurred.

Unfortunately you did not deal with HP support.  If you do a search for "HP Support", you'll see paid ads that "resemble" HP support but are actually not of HP.  HP support sites will hp.com in the url.  What I heard some of these HP people today it is not uncommon for them to call you back the next day if they manage to sell you something the first time.

Hi all, it may be a trivial question, but cause me unnecessary frustration.

I have a number of sites created on my PC, in the top folder in the "my websites" page, but each in its own site. "Whenever I have change the settings in the 'Manage the Sites' installation, I get an error message ' the root folder you have chosen is inside the folder site"XYZ ". This may cause certain operations, such as the synchronization to work correctly. Still? "Even to delete the folder"XYZ"simply changes the message to another folder. If I ignore the message, everything seems to work well in all cases. (I do not use the ease of the synchronization of the site).

    Suggestions, please?

Hi Murray, I think I found the problem: a couple of the sites are no longer active and I moved the old site files in Windows Explorer without update or delete in Manager of Site of DW. Now that I have deleted the relevant sites of DW, the problem seems to have disappeared. Thanks anyway for your answer.
