Unrecognized device (code 43)

Hello

So I tried to connect a device to my windows 7, but continues to display this message to the top of "USB device not recognized" and "Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. (Code 43) ». I uninstalled the device in "Device Manager", installed again and rebooted my laptop, but it did not help at all. I have taken the battery as well and also, it did not help. I don't know what to do now, he won't recognize it, even do I really need this device to connect. In addition, the device that I use is my phone. And Yes, I tried to update the software and automatic updates on my laptop are enabled. What should I do now, any advice?

Hi Ina,

Thanks for posting your query in Microsoft Community Forum.

  1. What is brand and model of the USB device you are trying to connect?
  2. Are you able to connect other USB devices to your computer successfully?

Basically, code 43 error occurs when an engine control unit notified the operating system that the device has failed in some way. See the following article:

Code 43: Error Codes in the Device Manager in Windows

So, I would suggest trying the following steps and check if the problem persists.

Method 1:

Please try the fixit (s) provided below which will help you solve common problems associated with devices and USB ports.

If method 1 does not work, try Method 2.

Method 2:

Remove and reinstall all USB controllers.

  1. Open Manager devices by clicking the Start button, click Control Panel, click system and security, and then, under System, clicking Device Manager. If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.
  2. In the list of the categories of equipment, locate and expand Bus USB controllers.
  3. Right-click every device under the Bus USB controllers node and then click Uninstall to remove them one at a time.
  4. Restart the computer and let the USB controllers get reinstalled.
  5. Plug in the removable USB device and test to make sure that the problem is solved.

If the problem persists, go to method 3.

Method 3:

This method will install the latest drivers from device to your USB device.

  1. Click the Start button, type Windows Update in the search box, and then click Windows Update in the results pane.
  2. Click find updates. When the scan finished, click optional review updates.
  3. Click the check box next to the update, and then click install updates.
  4. If you are prompted, read the license agreement, then click I agree.
  5. Follow the instructions on the screen to download and install updates.
  6. If you are prompted, restart your computer.

Hope this information is useful. If the problem still persists, please post back for further assistance, we will be happy to help you.

    Hi HTipper,

Bearing in mind all the iTunes and drivers are up to date it's a little strange to get this message.
I would also recommend to check the cable that you use to connect your IPod to the computer.

In this scenario, I suggest also download the latest version of the software for the IPod on the site below:

  • Envy 17-j120us: high definition Audio Device, Code 10 device cannot start, yellow triangle

My IDT audio works fine and its works my laptop well, but when I curls upward from my laptop to my TV via a HDMI cable, I output my laptop displays on my TV but no sound from my laptop on my TV came out. I think the problem is because there is something wrong with my high definition Audio Device. It has a yellow triangle next to him with a! in the middle of the yellow triangle in the Manager of devices under sound, video and game controllers. And when I click on properties on the high definition Audio Device, it says: "this device cannot start. (Code 10) {Operation failed} The requested operation failed. Any help would be great. See if it works...

Download and install this free utility for files.  The 2nd listed file is 64-bit.

    http://www.7-zip.org/

Then download and save, but do not run the graphics driver Intel W10 from the support page of your laptop.

This package provides the driver that allows graphics Intel high definition (HD) in the notebook models that are running an operating system supported. If the video output high-definition multimedia interface (HDMI) is supported, this package also installs the HDMI Audio Driver.

    File name: sp72370.exe

Right-click on the file of the Intel graphics driver you just downloaded and select 7 - zip from the list of options.

Have 7-zip extract of: and let it extract the file in the file name (sp72370).

Go to Device Manager and click on the audio device HD of the problem.

Click on the driver tab, click on set to update driver.  Select her browse my computer for driver software option and navigate to the driver 7-zip created folder.

Make sure that the include subfolders is selected and see if the pilot goes like this.

    Then restart the PC.

  • CD/DVGW SN - S082D question - Windows cannot start this hardware device Code 19

I've had my laptop for a little over a year now and it's had its fair share of problems, which most is repairable or there is a solution.
Earlier today, I inserted a disc in the drive and tried it opens, went into "My Computer" and find the disk was not displayed.

It's happened a couple times and a simple reboot fixes the problem.
I rebooted twice and this time, that the problem was not fixed, after going in 'Device Manager', I found there was a problem with the device and he gave me the following error message

"Windows cannot start this hardware device because its information of configuration (in the registry) is incomplete or damaged. (Code 19)

Click on 'Search for solutions' to send data about this device to Microsoft and to see if there is a solution available. »

As usual "search for the solutions" is useless and doesn't return any results.

It seems that the registry keys are corrupt and so your CD/DVD drive does not work properly.

    Frank,

Thanks a lot for your quick and useful tips.  These two drivers nailed the problem.  The reason I had not noticed the fault on my laptop, is that I had not used bluetooth or the card reader because I replaced my HARD drive.

    Hello, Aadi467,

A device driver has notified the operating system that the device failed.

Run the diagnostic tool of hardware devices do not work or are not detected in Windows on the Microsoft Fix it Center.

You can also uninstall the software from Cyberlink.  There is a found here download link to reinstall the software after restarting the computer.

  • High definition Audio Device Code 10 - device cannot start (tried all the typical solutions)

    Hey!

    Let me first, I use a laptop Aspire V3 - 772g.

After the recent update of Windows 10, I had problems getting past the lock screen (took FOREVER to get to the point where I could enter my password) and it had been awhile, so I reformatted ('reset my PC' delete all files) - that didn't really solve my problem, so I used Rufus with an iso of Windows Microsoft to remove all partitions and start 10 REALLY cool. Since then, the laptop runs like a dream - in all but a point.

It seems that no matter WHAT I do, I can't get my audio HDMI / TV to appear as an option in the playback devices (Yes, disabled devices is checked). Looking in the Device Manager, the high definition Audio Device has an exclamation point is to launch a code 10 - impossible to start the device. I tried to uninstall it, tried to install all the drivers of Intel V3 - 772 f page including chipset, updated my graphics driver / Realtek / drivers Intel HD audio... and yet, nothing. Ran /sfc, ran /chkdsk, nothing.

I read something that made me believe .NET framework can be part of the issue - and in fact, I have a bit of difficulty getting the 3.5 installed / functional, but I finally did... and yet, nothing!

Seriously, I'm losing my mind. I'll have to run my sound surround sound via an auxiliary cable into the laptop, which is sacrilege and a fraction of the quality.

If there is SOMETHING, someone can suggest beyond the foregoing, please do!

This problem is related to Intel HD audio via HDMI cable, if the driver is in the same package of graphics drivers.

Have you tried to manually install the audio driver HD?

you need to unpack the Intel graphics drivers (but no installation, you can use 7z to unzip), and then select update the driver HD audio from the Device Manager and point to the unzipped folder.
