Unrecognized USB device, device code Malfunctioned error (43)

I bought a new computer with Windows 7. Initially my IPOD worked well with this computer. He still sees the IPOD but nothing else. In addition, it does work on my old computer.

1. I completely uninstalled and reinstalled ITUNES.

2. I reset the device lose all my music.

3. I went to the Device Manager and the IPOD appears as UNKNOWN DEVICE. I STOPPED the device DRIVER and restarted.

4. I tried to have attached to my old computer update, and I get the exact same error USB not recognized message.

5. other devices work fine on the USB hub, in addition, I tried the other USB hub.

All measures above have failed. It all started when I had problems with updating my music to the IPOD, and I chose the RESTORE function on the SUMMARY page of the ITUNES software with the device attached and recognized. Since nothing? Initially, when the device has been fixed after that RESTORE option was chosen, I needed to attach to high speed USB 2.0 Hub, error message? It is a high-speed USB 2.0 device. I have reviewed the other questions in this forum, the Forum of apples, all with the same results... Nothing.

Help!

Hi HTipper,

Bearing in mind all the iTunes and drivers are up to date it's a little strange to get this message.
I would also recommend to check the cable that you use to connect your IPod to the computer.

In this scenario, I suggest also download the latest version of the software for the IPod on the site below:
http://www.Apple.com/iTunes/download/?iPod

You can also have a look at this tutorial below:

Here is the link to the Apple Ipod support:

It will be useful.

    Hi CapsFanQ,

To repair the system corrupted files on the computer that was not fixed by SFC scan, an upgrade in place might have to accomplish.

Error message when you try to install Windows Vista Service Pack 2: "one or more system components that require the service pack are missing."

    http://support.Microsoft.com/default.aspx/KB/968279

(See option 1 in the link)

Note:  Before you perform an upgrade in-place, you must be prepared for the worst scenarios that led to your existing data on your computer being deleted. Make sure that you back up personal data to disks or other storage devices before performing an upgrade on the spot. To perform an upgrade in-place, follow these steps.

Until you try to upgrade on the spot, I suggest you follow the steps mentioned below to fix USB:

Step 1: Run the fixit provided in the link below.

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/tips-for-solving-problems-with-USB-devices

    If the problem persists,

Step 2: Connect the device to a different USB port and test and also to connect the device to another computer to eliminate the problem of USB device.

    If the problem persists,

Step 3: Reinstall the USB controllers.

First of all, please disconnect all USB devices and then perform the following steps:

    1. click on 'Start', type device manager in the search bar and press "Enter." If necessary, click on continue.

    2. in Device Manager, double-click to expand the "USB Bus controllers", right-click on the "host controller", click "Uninstall" and click "OK".

    3. Repeat step 2 to uninstall all items under 'USB Bus controllers'.

Then, restart your computer and Windows 7 will automatically reinstall all USB controllers.

You can contact the manufacturer of the USB device for known problems

Step 4: Update the driver of the motherboard (Chip set drivers) to the latest version.

Note: Please check with the manufacturer of the motherboard before installing the driver.

Thank you, and in what concerns:

  • IPod Classic (80 GB) "unrecognized USB device" running windows 7

I've recently upgraded to a new laptop (acer aspire 5738G) running windows 7. I managed to transfer my itunes through library and that you have installed itunes (x 64) that works well. When I plug my ipod classic (80 GB) on a usb port, I get a message saying "unrecognized usb device". I managed to make it work once, but when I did, I got an error understood saying "this drive could run faster" or something in that sense. I tried other usb devices and all seem to work well, so I guess that's the ipod drivers or a compatibility issue with 7 and itunes. I uninstalled and reinstalled itunes, have reinstalled the usb drivers and have browsed the net for a fix but wo's me again! I waited patiently a hotfix from microsoft or apple, but still nothing. It seems that there is a great problem of the spread. Does anyone have any ideas as what was once a small annoying problem turns into a right royal pain in the a$ $. Thanks in advance!

I also have the same problem is "USB not recognized" and I have the old IPOD classic (20 GB).

The problem started when I upgraded my home pc to Windows 7 Pro 32-bit of Windows Vista. My iphone 3gs is currently recognized properly but not the ipod 20 GB on the same iTunes 9.0.2. Device Manager reports the 20 GB ipod as "unknown device".

My computer is a HP Pavilion Slimline s3620f. Almost tried everything:
    -reboot several times
    -Reinstall itunes several times
-restart the service itunes several times
    -Reconnect the ipod several times
-tried the front and back of the usb ports
-deleted the Sentinel file under c:/users //musci/itunes/I've found solution on another forum

    ... still nada, zit, ala!

Update: I've found a workaround. Fortunately, my ipod classic cable is a cable in there provided with firewire in addition to the usb cable. Since my home pc has firewire port, Windows 7 now recognizes the classic ipod through this port, have a drive letter and itunes works on it as well.

    Hi gordan84,

Have you installed a 3rd party software/driver for the external mouse? If Yes, you should remove it.

This happens with other USB devices like printer too?

Maybe a BIOS update could be useful, you can download it on the Toshiba site.

  • Vista message - unrecognized USB device

    Hello

I get an error message "USB device not recognized" of Windows Vista.
    It keeps repeat sporadically.
The problem is that I don't have any device USB attach or connect to my computer.

Sometimes plugged in my Flash USB key device to file certain documents on my drive hard, but I immediately unplugged the unit once the task is completed.

I used to have a printer Lexmark 1290 plug to my computer, but as it worked very well on Vista, I decided to unplug and remove the device in my printer Manager.

I installed the latest Windows Vista Update, BIOS update, and all the drivers, but I always saw the messages.

Does anyone have an idea of what could be my problem?

    Thank you

    Hi aladino00,

It would be interesting to know what laptop you have and if you run factory settings (preinstalled Toshiba BONE) or not.
You can add this information, please?

To be honest, I also don t know why you get this error message but can you please try to remove all the USB ports on the Device Manager, then restart the laptop?

  • Unrecognized USB device if I use more than four devices. WTF.

    Hey,.

I currently use a 32-bit version of Windows Vista.  I have six slots USB which is given to me.  I use four of them at all times to my keyboard, mouse, WiFi adapter and the headset.
Whenever I'm trying to plug a fifth device I get the error: USB device not recognized.  However if I unplug any other device, the new device will work perfectly.  And then if I try to re - connect the deleted device back in, it will not work until I have remove the fifth device.
    WTF?

It is certainly not a question of power that I have decent food.  In addition, why inlcude 6 USB slots if there are only 4 can work at the same time?  I tried Googling for a solution and learned that a computer must be able to handle up to 127 devices, anyway.

What can I do to fix this error?  Do I have a virus or something?

    Hello

Check with support of the manufacturer of the system (motherboard for customized systems manufacturer) and ask for their
Forums about known issues. Look for the updates the BIOS, chipset of low level drivers, and others
    drivers.

There could be a power problem that the USB interface can supply only so many devices at a time. If
power is part of the question, then external, powered USB Hub will help.

  • UNRECOGNIZED USB DEVICE

whenever I plug in or UN plug or anything I do, I got error msg this USB device not recognized frequently for these last two days.

My laptop is Sony Vaio CS 17 with Windows VISTA Home Premium

    Please aswaer

Do you have anything plugged USB? Try this:

UNINSTALL ALL USB ASSOCIATED ENTRIES IN THE DEVICE (COOL CACHE) MANAGER

    1. click on START
    2. right click "Computer" and select "Properties".
    3. on the left side, click on Device Manager.
    4. expand the 'USB Bus controllers' category
    5. right click and uninstall all THE references listed
    6. completely shut down your computer, unplug the power adapter (charger) out of the wall, turn the laptop and remove the battery. Let rest for about 5-6 min. This gives time for the memory cache to completely empty (a bit like clean which is in temporary memory)

  • USB device not recognized error

I am running Windows 7 on an acer 4810 t
My computer keeps telling me that I have an unknown USB device.
In Device Manager, the device will appear and then disappear every few seconds.

Initially, the error occurred when I had Vista and I assumed 7 upgrade fix it - no luck.
Until I disabled all notifications error that it made my laptop unusable.
Is it possible to fix this problem without having to reinstall the system.  Please?

  • Windows is unable to recognize the device, one of the connected usb device has malfunctioned

in my pc it shows the error when I connect a usb device is something like this perhaps datacard or USB key via a M/F, else if usb cable connected directly connected to the pc port it works fine... even changed the cable twice there is no cable fault

It would seem that the cables tried maybe not until the correct USB connection plug. If you test this, according to the post Michael75951, and it still does not work, perhaps he could confirm bad cable(s.)
