Update BIOS to M3450 with secure boot

I have an Acer Aspire M3450 with an FX processor. I just read windows 10 will need a UEFI bios that supports support secure startup. There is an update on the Acer PO1.4A site. This update contains the UEFI update? The system I have now has UEFI but is 1.3 I believe and the new UEFI is 2.4. I ran the upgrade for windows 8.1 Advisor and he told me the same thing on my version of bios and no secure boot.

I forgot to mention that my current bios is PO1. A2

  • I have download 4 updates from Ms... now secure boot blocked out me of my computer with Windows 7 Pro

Tonight MS had 4 updates for my computer Windows 7 x 64... so I never thought, no big deal, will download and install as usual.

After that, I can't start my computer.  Something happened with secure startup.

    The message says:

System available on the firmware, operating system or driver uefi unauthorized changes.

    (N) press to run the next boot device, or "enter" directly to the configuration of the bios...

Go to the configuration of the bios > advanced > start and change the current boot device in another secure boot device.

Secure startup is enabled, and the key to the platform was something like State PK2 and loaded.

I had my computer for years and never had this problem... What do we have Ms to my computer the latest updates.  I'm screwed

and have all my medical records, legal documents, stuff personal and all my families, grandchildren pictures, etc...

I use a friends computer... my is dead and locked out.  Can I reset my key or something?   Even my back of the player will not work, and I made backups for years.  Another option, reset the bios with jumper?

Support - all my doctor's appointments and medical stuff is there.  I recently suffered a crisis heart (a real one) and went to the hospital and see a cardio doc... again, my medical life is on this computer - I need to work again.

How can I solve this... that's happened?

    Hello

We wish to inform you that after you install the update 3133977 on a Windows 7 x 64 system which includes a main focus on the ASUS card, the system does not start, and it generates a Secure Boot error on the ASUS BIOS screen. This problem occurs because ASUS has helped the motherboard turn on the secure boot process, even if Windows 7 does not support this feature.

To resolve this issue, go to the following ASUS support site to find out how to disable Secure Boot for Windows 7:

Note the Secure Boot feature is supported in Windows 10. To learn more about the benefits of security of this feature, as well as on the way to upgrade Windows 7 to 10 of Windows, go to the following Windows site:

    Hello

I re-formatted my computer last night and ended up resolving this issue so I thought I would update this matter with my solution.

    Basically, I followed this guide:

    www.eightforums.com/.../38486-need-help-formatted-genuine-Windows-8-Lenovo.html

With the help of the media Windows Installation tool, I was able to install Windows 8.1 Secure Boot with UEFI active. Please note that I used a USB Flash drive and not a DVD, apparently, it makes the whole process better somehow.

  • V3 - 771g S8 i7. V2.28 BIOS how to disable secure boot mode and allow to boot from usb/dvd

    Hi people,

Recently my laptop w8 shared with my brother get sick. So I decided to get out the trusty old diagnosis

USB and dvd, you know, ubcd centos ophrack. Much to my dismay, I couldn't start any of them. So after some faffing

everything on the net, I was able to boot/secure boot / disabled, which meant I could f12 at startup in the Boot Manager.

Unfortunately, the drama is over. Kindly listed boot manager internal hard drive, but not bootable usb or dvd connected.  so I thought, I'm going to be cunning and change the boot order of start. Yet once the monster of Bios Acer jeeringly laughed at my attempts to

take control of the material, I dared try control simply because I happened to pay a substantial amount of money to acer.

So, it seems, the only option I have left to change is boot/boot mode / (boot uefi/legacy). So what I need to change to restore the boot control, is to change legacy BIOS uefi? Who will install the w8 cack?

Also what happens if I want to replace the hard drive with an ssd in the near future, is not not to work?

Oh, I tried to get help from the enamel of acer, their response said essentially bios/uefi is isn't a problem acer because it is sw and realized

What seemed like a pay per minute service.

    Skills of good customer Acer.

  • Re: update BIOS on Tecra with PGP WDE

    Hello

I want to update the BIOS of my Tecra S11. The hard drive is encrypted with PGP Whole Disk Encryption. Is it safe to run the Toshiba BIOS update program without first decrypting the disk?

    Thanks for your comments,
    Patrick

    Hello

I ve not a lot of experience with PGP encryption software, but with the bit locker

It is also a kind of encryption provided my MS in Vista and Win 7.
To my knowledge the bitlocker must be set to suspend mode by updating the BIOS.

I guess that something similar should be done to PGP.

Maybe you could get more details here:

  • Qosmio X 870 and Windows update 8.1 - secure-Boot is not configured correctly

After update of windows 8 for windows 8.1 a watermark appeared in the dekstop who says:
+ Windows 8.1 secure Boot is not configured correctly build 9600. +

Is something wrong with the installation of the update?

    Thank you much in advance.

    I have a Qosmio x-870.

If you see a message "Secure startup is not configured properly" in the lower right corner of the office, this means that Secure Boot is off or has not been configured correctly on the PC.

Secure boot can be enabled or disabled in the BIOS.
You need to access the BIOS and should allow secure boot.
Save the changes and restart the device.

I also tried the CD utility, but it gave me an error message saying "the file system is not correct for this system." The BIOS I downloaded is the correct version for my system - 2, 52. Any ideas what could be the problem?

My motherboard has been replaced today. BIOS updated very well and I can now put the supervisor password. I think the solution here was to replace my motherboard.

The technician who replaced the Council stated that it works on HP, Dell, Lenovo and Apple laptops. According to him, Lenovo sees the least number of problems except for the CPU fan goes wrong. Apparently, this has been a problem for years, but Lenovo refuses to change fan supplier.

  • Aurora R4, 8.1, NVIDIA GTX 690, UEFI, Secure Boot Windows

I have an Aurora R4 that came with a NVIDIA GTX 690.  When Dell will release a video for the GTX 690 ROM update so that Secure Boot works under Windows 8 and Windows 8.1?  ASUS, EVGA and several other vendors of this map published a videocard ROM updates already that allow this work.

It's been a year since it became a problem with Windows 8, and now Windows 8.1 he remarked with a watermark on the screen that says: "secure boot is not configured correctly.

The video card shows a subprovider from NVIDIA, but NVIDIA does not seem to make these updates available ROM, as it is to the card suppliers like Dell to do.

Today, Dell replaced my NVIDIA GTX-690, as well as my motherboard and memory under warranty (wouldn't boot after the home screen Alienware - F2, F12 did nothing).

Now I am finally able to activate Secure Boot, like the GTX-690, they sent has a compatible UEFI BIOS, whereas one that I got with my new Aurora-R4 does not.

For reference, the new NVIDIA GTX-690 has the video BIOS version: 80.04.1E.00.1F.  And work with Secure Boot.

  • Satellite P840: How to create the secure boot with UEFI Bios recovery disk

    Hello

I have laptop P840 that came pre-installed with Windows 8, which I've upgraded to Windows 8 Pro.

    1. how to create a DVD repair or start for windows 8.1 pro with UEFI Bios and boot secured.

    2. I created a USB recovery using the control panel in Windows Pro 8.1. It starts OK. It will be the same as that I've created using the Toshiba Media recovery creator or will it drivers Windows Pro 8.1?

    3. check partitions with disk management, then 3 (450MO, 350 MB and GB 10.90) recovery partitions, 1 EFI system partition and 2 primary (C: programs) and D: for data. I created the recovery DVD and USB 2 disks. Can I remove the 3 recovery partitions?

I found your previous thread on this topic:

    > 1. How to create a DVD repair or start for windows 8.1 pro with UEFI Bios and boot secured.
To be able to boot from sources other than the drive HARD internal, the boot mode must be set to the CSM and secure boot must be disabled!

    > 2. I created a USB recovery using the control panel in Windows Pro 8.1. It starts OK. It will be the same as that I've created using the Toshiba Media recovery creator or will it drivers Windows Pro 8.1?

Your laptop has been preloaded with Win 8. Right? For example, the USB flash stick memory you just use the Toshiba Recovery media creator contains the Image of Toshiba with Windows 8. Don t mix this Toshiba image with the image that can be created using Microsoft's own backup and restore function. Both are different pictures!

    > 3. Check it with disk management, then 3 (450MO, 350 MB and GB 10.90) recovery partitions, 1 EFI system partition and 2 partitions primary (C: programs) and D: for data. I created the recovery DVD and USB 2 disks. Can I remove the 3 recovery partitions?

The last partition contains the files on HARD drive recovery. Usually this partition will be created again when you use the Toshiba Recovery disk to put the laptop back to factory settings. So in the case where you n t need this files or the partition, you can delete

  • Trouble with BIOS and secure boot

Hello, I own a HP Pavilion 15-b040sl, born with Windows 8 Sleekbook and has been upgraded to 8.1. Now, I decided to downgrade to Windows 7 (I own a regular product key) and has done so successfully (I'm also using a Linux distribution in dual boot). The problem is since I've upgraded to 8.1 Windows, Secure Boot allows automatically when starting (it did not before upgrade, because I just Press esc - F9, then select "portable hard drive" boot selection, now I have to open the BIOS, enable Legacy Boot (and automatically disables the secure boot), then it boots correctly) , but I have to do this every time I turn on the computer. Is there a way to fix this? Simply, I need something to disable startup secure activation automatically at startup. Maybe an old BIOS update? I tried to take a look at downloading drivers, but I am unable to find the older versions.

I finally solved this when I noticed there was an option to disable startup change requests. This option is selectable when you disable booting safe (without activating the legacy support). Thanks for help.
