Hello

It s possible. Unfortunately it s not official but many users here in the forum asked a thousand times before you, and we all realized it's possible. Do not hesitate to buy new HARD drive and install it, there are just 4 screws that hold the HARD drive in the enclosure, the other stuff is just re-installing the OS and bla...

If you have any other questions just ASK! ;)

Welcome them

What I want to know is, is anyway to watch the TNT on my laptop? I have a Freeview box.

    Quick answers appreciated.

    Hello Martyn

I hope that you have already checked the FAQ site and the FREEVIEW support. I understood that TNT box must be connected between the source of the signal TV and TV itself. I have no experience with it, but it should theoretically work.

I think it should be to connect on this way:
Antenna cable > FREEVIEW box > P20. On this way, the signal will be free, and it can be viewed on your device.

Just check that your postcode is in a DTT coverage area.

  • Update hard drive to the Satellite Pro L300

Have a Satellite Pro L300 with a 120 GB hard drive, running Vista Home, the reader is divided 50-50 and does'nt Vista as to move the partition (Partition Magic does not work)...

So would like to change to a larger HD... Q / I can do this, and how hard is it? even with the recovery of files on the Partition and if I bought the Toshiba recovery disks, gruff, when the player is changed discs would not reconise the largest disk that I discovered in the past using Norton Ghost.

Upgrading the hard drive doesn't have to be the problem.
HARD drive is placed in the lower corner under the HARD drive cover. HARD drive cover is fixed by two screws. Remove the screw, then the HARD drive cover. Please do it gently. After having this deletion drive by pulling on the tab kit attached to the pack, following the direction of the arrows.

According to the specifications of the laptop you need SATA HDD and it can be upgraded up to 500 GB.
After upgrade the disk HARD use recovery DVD for installation of operating system.

    Any other questions? ;)

Work on my laptop a few days ago and it crashed all of a sudden. He went really slow and began to clear the files of Windows and does not let me access Norton Anitvirus 2005 or even add/remove windows programs.
Also, when I restart the computer, I get the following message...

    «SMART failure detected hard disk 0 - toshiba...»

I wanted to format the computer and do a system restore, but this message appeared again as soon as the computer has been restarted or walk...

Its a new computer, purchased in August 2004...

Any ideas of what I can do without having to send off the computer to Toshiba for repairs?

    Hello

You speak Active SMART monitor hard drive status? If you want to reinstall the operating system on your laptop, use the restore CD. Put the recovery in device DVD CD. Start Notepad, and then press C button. After that, follow the instructions on the screen.

  • Upgrade the hard drive Satellite 2410 404

    Hello

I want to improve my toshiba Satellite 2410 404 with a hard drive again. For now I have just 30 GB drive and is not enough for me.

I checked three products to a new Toshiba hard drive.

    MK-8032GAX
    MK-1032GAX
    MK-1233GAX

The model MK-1032GAX 100 GB is my favorite and now my question is, if this drive work with my laptop (im going to install the drive in a toshiba technical station, don't do myself.) or if I have to change something with my mobile phone, update the bios or something.

Just tell me what I should do to work with this drive or if my laptop is not ready for it because it is nearly three years.

    Thank you very much.

    Hello

As far as I know this laptop supports only 20 GB; 30 GB; 40 GB and 60 GB hard drives
I guess that a 100 GB HARD drive will not be recognized by the BIOS.

    60 GB MK6021GAS HDD
    MP40KF 40 GB HARD DRIVE
    MK30kef 30 GB HARD drive
    MQ20ksf 20 GB HARD disk

Hope this info will help you

  • What is the large hard drive Satellite A30 supports

Satellite A30-514 P4 2.8 GHz/WXP HE/512 MB / 30 GB/15TFT/DVD-CD-RW. I have the latest bios update and only I can see downloads for this machine. I have a 30 GB drive. I look at the model 100 GB or 80 GB. This model supports these formats. Some of these new hitachi drives have also a ata supplys data cable and power. Someone know if this laptop supports this connection or are these two cables. As I have yet a glance. Any advice on what type of player to use will be much appreciated.

    Hi Mike,.

I have a 80 GB hard drive in my A30 at the moment. You will need a player with similar physical dimensions as your drive existing. Cables are not a problem because the drive on the A30 is connected directly to a connector under the optical drive (this should be removed first to access the hard drive.

An appropriate drive would be the MK8025GAS but you could also take the option to use a car with a higher rotation speed. The original drive is 4200 RPM and I am currently using a version of 5400 RPM in my A30. There is a little extra heat, but this is really noticeable during heavy disk activity (anti-virus, Defrag, backup, etc.).

    Kind regards

  • How to connect two external HARD drive satellite and the same printer?

    Hello

I have now two laptop Toshiba Equium.
What is the best way to connect them so that they can access the same external hard drive and the same printer?

    Thank you

    Hello

I guess the two laptops are in the same network; Home LAN or WLan. Right?
I this case I recommend you connect HARD drive and printer to one of the portable satellite.

Then you can share the HARD drive and the printer with other cell phones on the LAN.

You could add the network permission to others, and in this case the other participants of the network would be able to share the printer and HARD drive.

  • When changing the 80 GB to 40 GB HARD drive, Satellite M40 does not recognize the drive

    Hi all

    Thanks for coming in! :)
I recently source two-disc 40GB 2.5 "IDE and intended to run one of them in my Satellite M40.

    The problem starts here:

    (1) I took the original 80 GB hard drive & install the 40 GB hard drive
    (2) start and put in the Toshiba M40 recovery disk
    (3) display screen 'Y' for recovery blah blah blah thing...
    (4) then the screen shows 'cannot be installed because no hard drive found ".
    (5) I boot in the BIOS using F2-> F1, page 2 shows no hard drive

    (6) I try to use my own CD of Windows XP Pro, same thing (as in no hard drive found)
    (7) and the BIOS too show no hard drive found

The two disk 40 GB is out of mobile work and they formatted it, partition deleted with NOTHING on it. They have also been tested on other PCs (using the converter) using WXP. Two of them work very well!

Now, the weird thing is that I just can't make it work at least in the Sat - M40. Why is this? Toshiba locked the M40 being one Toshiba-disc is usable?
Is there a place to get through it? Hidden BIOS?

I have fixed a large number of PCs, but I can't with this, Please HELP...
Any response would be appreciated, thanks! :)

    Hello

The M40 should be able to use 40 GB hard drives with no problems.
But you must use hard drives with the right interface.
To my knowledge the M40 supports hard drives with an interface IDE (ATA-6).

So be sure that your 40 GB HARD drive supports it.

By the way; Check if your HARD drive supports the good master or slave definition.

  • After the Windows Vista updates, hard drive of the computer constantly "working".

    Hello

I suggest you follow the methods and see if it works below.

    Method 1

You can make the disk check to check if your hard disk contains bad sectors.

Check your hard drive for errors

  • Question of firmware update hard drives/RAID

We have a Server Power Edge R210II with OS MS Server 2008R2 and a Controller PERC H200 RAID (two disc HARD 1 TB Seagate SATA in RAID1).
Recently, there is a new firmware for Seagate drives on a dell (Package update for MS Windows) support site.
I really don't want to lose the server :) and never update firmware on the disks on the server with RAID (I've updated the players only on PC).
Can someone tell me a procedure to update the firmware on my drives? Problems with the upgrade, best practices etc?
    Thanks for any help,
    Marius

    Best practices:

    • First have a backup. Should data not destructive, but everything can happen.
    • Use SUU or Repository Manager to update ALL of your system - iDRAC/BIOS firmware, PERC and other firmware must be updated before the firmware of the HARD drive.

Most HARD drive firmware updates are bootable, so you just get the utility boot and update.

You cannot update firmware of the drive not Dell with Dell firmware (i.e. If you bought the retail/generic readers).

  • ExpressCache broken after update hard drive Protection

    I have a brand new E530 with 16 GB SSD. Product Code: 3259A 29.

I installed the ExpressCache with the C:\SWTOOLS\APPS\ExpressCache installation program. Everything went well and the thing ran faster, for a day.

Now I have updated the Protection of hard drive, such as recommended by the ThinkVantage System Update to Version 1.77.0.5.

Since then, I get an error message during startup: "2102: error detection on HDD2 (SATA Mini).» Press ESC to continue. "After ESC the machine starts.

But ExpressCache doesn't work anymore. On the command line the command eccmd.exe - info says "* ERROR * ECCmd required peripheral is not available: 2

I guess, the update of the ruined the ExpressCache HD-protection - hide.

How can I fix ExxpressCache? All eccmd.exe options, it returns the error message above.

    Thanks for your help!

    awehring,

    You see the error message:

«2102: error detection on HDD2 (SATA Mini).» Press ESC to continue. »

is from the BIOS.  You say that the mSATA SSD (or the port that it attached) is bad.

I recommend you call the support phone number in your country to apply for warranty repair.

The update of the software APS could not cause this, given that the APS software runs only under Windows.  You see the error message is BIOS.  I think it is purely a coincidence that HW failure is apparently happened as you updated the software of the APS.

  • Update hard drive to SSD

    Hello

I have a 2012 end mac mini, hearts, i7, 1 TB. Recently, I got a SMART error, and now it has deteriorated further. I have a time machine backup. I have another HARD drive with the operating system. So if the internal HARD drive failed completely, I'm sure.

I want to upgrade to a 1 TB SSD. I have contacted apple and their prices are extremely high. I price $ 250 - $400 for the three following models: are they compatible?

    (1) transcend: Transcend 1 TB MLC SATA III 6 Gb/s 2.5 "Solid State Drive 370

    (2) SanDisk Extreme PRO 960 GB SATA 6.0 GB/s 7 mm height 2.5 - Inch Solid State (SSD) with 10 year warranty drive

    (3) critical BX200 960 GB SATA 2.5 inch internal Solid State Drive

If they are compatible, please let me know on the reputation of those marks. Seagate is also quite good in my experience, I can look to their SSD equivalent also. Thanks a ton.

All are compatible and should work correctly. I would opt for the SanDisk or Crucial. I failed to transcend everything simply because I know little about the company.

  • Re: update hard drive on Satallite L650

I want to upgrade my hard drive and I was wondering what is the right one for my system.
In addition, my recovery disks will work to install windows 7 on my new hard drive?

Upgrade the HARD drive should not be problematic. It is important that you use thr HDD with the same SATA connector.
Which one you want to buy?

Recovery disk can be used with a new hard drive.

How is it possible to upgrade the hard drive of a portege 3410 and 3440 or 3480, 3490?

There is no visible open slot.

Is it necessary to open the chassis?

    If so, how?

Thanks for anybod who has done it before and can tell.

I have the 3110CT which is very similar. The HD is just below the gey "palm rest" at the front. You remove the 6 screws from underneath at the front, hinge grey Panel thro 180 degrees and the HD is easily accessible. You slide right out to the right.
