Update Java 24 is originally vista not responding.

I use a laptop Vaio running Vista Ultimate 64.  Very few problems (thank you), however two weeks ago Windows became very slow until it would take up to 3 minutes for the program to respond.  Things went bad, the only way to turn off the computer's power off.  Then, I got the computer to a restore point.  Clean all them looking for errors of disc or from viruses.  Java asked me to update, so I did.  Immediately, Windows becomes desperately slow and it froze.  I got about to restore again, and once again the update of Java caused the problem.  I can't find any info as to why Java does this, even on the Java site.  At this point, I don't update Java any time soon.  You have any info on this?  In my view, that the update of Java is #24.

Now, my fourth day to investigate this, I discovered that Java may not be the culprit.  The same day I installed Windows PowerShell.  I just uninstalled, and my computer is now very fast, as it used to be.  Problem solved.  (I think).  Thanks for your help.

    Hello

Recently I received a message 'No response' frustrating to Vista when I wake the computer.  To be clear, my current power setting turns off the monitor after 20 minutes, and I did not put computer to sleep at all.  After twenty minutes, my screen goes white, (as it should), but when I try to move my mouse and start working again, I see a message "Not responding" on the title bar of any window I try to focus.  Also the symbol of the blue circle over the mouse begins to turn in circles without any apparent resolution.  And I literally shut down the computer and restart to get things working again.

  • Using Windows 7 Outlook 2007 get more "not responding" just as with Vista.

Original title: "Using Windows 7 Outlook 2007 put in more and more"not responding"just as with Vista." "Outlook pst file corrupt again and looks like I'm carefree like that again - not a very technical user here"

Recently, I installed 7 due to problems with Vista. Prompted by crashing in Outlook 2007. Began with "does not" message and now I'm getting the same thing with 7. "» The last time it happened that I found the corrupted pst file and decided to skip the Vista and support 7. Love 7 (as turning on your TV in comparison) but get the same message. Outlook runs slow again and don't know what to do now.

    Hi JackinGeorgia,

Welcome to the Microsoft Answers site!

Are you facing this problem only with Outlook or any other program as well?

It seems that some background programs is in conflict with the proper functioning of Office Outlook 2007. You can try to put your computer in a clean boot and check the base program leading Outlook hang.

To help resolve the error and other messages, you can start Windows Vista by using a minimal set of drivers and startup programs. This type of boot is known as a "clean boot". A clean boot helps eliminate software conflicts.

The steps to perform a clean boot are given below:

1 log on to the computer using an account with administrator rights

    2. click on start, type msconfig.exe in the start search box and press ENTER to start the System Configuration utility.

If you are prompted for an administrator password or for confirmation, type your password, or click on continue

    3. on the general tab, click Selective startup, and then clear the check box load startup items. (The check box use the file Boot is not available.)

    4. on the Services tab, click to select the skin all the Microsoft services check box, and then click Disable all

    Note:

Following this step lets services Microsoft continue to run. These services include networking, Plug-and-Play, record of events, error reporting, and other services. If you disable these services, you can permanently delete all restore points. Do not do this if you want to use with existing restore points system restore utility

Once you restart to try Office Outlook and see if you get the same error message. If not then follow the divide and conquer method mentioned in the article about which program is causing the problem.

For more information about the clean boot, follow the below given link:

How to troubleshoot a problem by performing a clean boot in Windows Vista or in Windows 7

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/929135

When you are finished troubleshooting, follow these steps to reset the computer to start as usual:

    1. click on start, type msconfig.exe in the start search box and press ENTER.

If you are prompted for an administrator password or for confirmation, type your password, or click on continue.

    2. on the general tab, click the Normal startup option, and then click OK.

    3. When you are prompted to restart the computer, click on restart

  • Application error handler: "the update server is not responding."

With each attempt to check updates for Creative Suite 5, the Application Manager responds immediately with an error: "the update server is not responding. The server may be offline temporarily, or internet or Firewall setting may be incorrect. Please try again later. "My last check for updates was 27/03/2012.

I haven't added any restriction since 3/27. I do not block outbound communications in my firewall. All communications through all firewalls are functioning normally.

Is there a way to check if the update server is really low?

Perhaps the address of the server has changed. It would not be the first time that a person no - think had this notion: '' this is what we will do, change the IP address of the update server and then unroll the new address in the next update."

    Thanks, Tooky. You nailed it.

For anyone who reads this, simple workaround for this problem on Windows is as follows:

    • Open the Device Manager. To do this, type "device manager" in the search bar of the Start Menu.
    • Open "network adapters."
    • Disable any device driver listed with the name "Microsoft Virtual WiFi Miniport Adapter.... ». To do this, right-click the name, and then select "disable."
    • Try updating Adobe Application Manager. This should work for now.

I don't know if the original plan of Microsoft to push the use of this driver in the throat of the Windows 7 certification companies never materialized. So although my internet and network connections remained after I disabled the driver, I recommend the pilot in reactivating once your update is complete.

TookyDC has been damaged, but easy enough to find a way to fix. If you want to read the outdated Adobe solution still works for this problem, the fixed link is http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/error-update-server-repsonding-cs4.html.

WARNING: After completing the last updated Adobe, Microsoft Security Essentials is now failing to validate Windows 7 on my computer. By reactivating the above driver did not help. This could be an isolated incident. But you should be aware of the problem I now have much more serious. What a joy!

I've updated to version 38.0 yesterday and since then whenever I open Thunderbird, he refuses to open and top watch does not respond. I have to close it via the Task Manager. What's past and how to fix it?

    > I tried in safe mode and it opens and I see my mail but when I try again to open it in mode normal it is just the same thing.

This clearly suggests that something you added to Thunderbird or the operating system is causing at least some of your problems. If the problem occurs with the OS in normal mode and Thunderbird in SafeMode - http://support.mozillamessaging.com/en-US/kb/safe-mode - then you should suspect a program that is loaded by the operating system, such as antivirus. But if it helps me to http://support.mozillamessaging.com/en-US/kb/safe-mode , then the problem is related to an add-on, or accerlation of material found in tools | options | Advanced | General
