  I have s similar or the same problem that happened before on this forum, however the answers have not solved the problem. I can re - start the computer by using comments presuppose that I can connect to the computer from safe mode. I can't. It just goes back on the same loop. I tried the last known good configuration and that brings me to the loop immediately. In April, I noticed the same problem of a user. The Guy didn't come back to report on the success or not of the solution. I tried all the suggestions, but I can't get out of the loop and in any form of safe mode. F8 F2 & F11 give me the guests who in turn put me straight to square.

  Help, please. I have vista and a windows automatic update is a loop. I am really computer illiterate. can someone explain to me what to do in easy words.

  I don't have the original vista disc such that it has been preloaded on laptop when I got it.

  I have 3 drives that I need to have copied when I got my laptop. the latter I called recovery of 1, 2 and FIPS appdrv 1. I don't know what they are for.

  Please give us some details about your problem.  You say you have 'an update loop' so what exactly do you mean by that?  Are you getting the same update presented whenever you start or it is actually trying to install an update every time that you start?  This error message do you receive?  What is the update you get?
