Update MSN legitimate?

Whenever I have connect or log on my MSN explorer (today), I get a pop up asking permission to install msnupdate.exe.  The Publisher is listed as not being identified.  Considering that I was faced with a virus, a few days ago, I am very wary of the instance.  Is it a play update?

Advice would be appreciated.

MSN messenger update and the update does not have 50 times or more, have tried to look through AID to find a live person to help with this.  VERY FRUSTRATED that MSN Messenger does not work and I get no help through the search through the many windows.

    Hello

    1. The question is limited to the MSN messenger update?
    2. What is the error message received when updating fails?

    Method 1:

You can try the steps from the following link and check if it helps:

    Problems with installing updates

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/troubleshoot-problems-with-installing-updates

    Method 2:

Put the computer to boot and then try to install the update for MSN messenger check if the problem persists.

To help resolve the error and other messages, you can start Windows 7 by using a minimal set of drivers and startup programs. This type of boot is known as a "clean boot". A clean boot helps eliminate software conflicts.

  • Got a popup to install the new version of Adobe Updater - is legitimate, or software malware?

Auto Adobe Updater wants to install a new version of itself.  Does not say what Adobe product, it relates to.  Everything I have on this laptop are the freebies - Reader, Flash, etc.  I don't know if there is an update, or several, one for each product.  I usually trust these popups, so I said 'yes '.  Then, I searched for "Adobe" C drive and found nothing newer than March 3.  My Updater version is still 5.  Nothing else happened, but while studying online, I found an update 'critical' to the reader was announced last month, and I have not yet.  So, I got manually 8.2.1, Reader then installed 9.3.1 later instead.  Called Adobe to see if these updates to the Updater are distributed, and they said «we do not support free software, go to the forums»  Therefore, even if my version is still 5, updater, never up to date me for an updated critical and I have no new files, I can trust that this popup was not for the distribution of malware?  Someone else do this popup?

If you set up Adobe Reader to receive automatic updates, then it is this update (5 or 6) that opens like this.  Unfortunately, it doesn't tell you what update is about to download; only after download, it tells you what it installs.

However, your attention is well founded; not sure if this is a legitimate process, or some kind of malware.

Assuming you are using Windows, open the Task Manager and check if it really is the Adobe Updater that runs (AdobeUpdater.exe or AdobeUpdaterInstallMgr.exe).

  • What is this system update message legitimate?

It just jumped on my screen T410:

This seems fishy because it gives no indication who sent it or he's going to update.  I've traced the popup to an executable uts.exe appointed and found in these Lenovo files:

    c:\Program Files (x 86) \Lenovo\System Update\NEWCLIENT\temp\

    c:\ProgramData\Lenovo\TVSUUTS\{96229774-D3A0-4410-8400-09B79865B300}\

It is a legit update of Lenovo, or is it malware?

    Hello.

Was supposed to be an image attached to this?

The uts.exe is the executable file for the update of the system, and there was a new version of the utility of the released ThinkVantage System Update June 27, my clients picked up the week last through the update program. Alas, the automatic client update failed in my case, so I just downloaded the new version and configure manually. Once executed, it invites you to you that there is an older version, and if you want to delete.

Don't know what msn program, you talk (MSN messenger?) but I would of course no antivirus or firewall program blocks first. You can activate your antivirus and firewall off the coast and try to update this program. Also, be sure that you are connected to the internet.

  • the editor updates Java Oracle or Sun Microsystems?

I use Windows Vista and get a pop up window that says something like "New update of Java".  Can I get another window which gives me the opportunity to continue or to cancel the update.

The problem is that this window identifies the Editor (or what they call) as Sun Microsystems.  In addition, the update is jucheck.exe.  I checked on the Oracle website to see if this is a legitimate update.  Information of this site provided as jucheck.exe and also that my cancel or continue the window should look like.  Here, the editor is noted as Oracle Corporation (in bold). So I wonder if the update is legitimate, because the editor is that Sun Microsystems and Oracle not noticed.  I got nowhere to get a response on the Oracle website.  Thank you kindly.

I have the same problem with Windows 7: a msg saying that I need to update Java Sun Microsystems... I'M DOWN... IF this Java software is required for Windows working properly so Microsoft needs to update the msg if users don't worry / spyware software malware.

  • Cannot access Windows Gadgets after upgrade to MSN Explorer

    Original title: update MSN Explorer

I was doing a box of pop - up everyday or invites me to update my MSN Explorer browser.  I used to ignore and close Finally, I clicked Yes to upgrade.  Now I can not access the Windows Gadgets by right clicking and then clicking on "gadgets".  I also had a clock Gadgets Windows on my screen which disappeared since I did the upgrade to MSN Explorer.

    Hi zepians,
    1. what happens when you right-click on the desktop and clicks on gadget? The option is missing?
In the meantime, follow these steps.
    Step 1:
    a. click on start
    b. click Control Panel
    c. appearance and personalization
d and click 'restore the desktop gadgets installed with Windows.

This will bring up the window of the Gadgets from office with a message indicating "administrator installed gadgets and all the windows have been restored.
    Step 2:

Perform a System Restore to the point that it worked fine. Next time you get a command prompt to install MSN explore update/upgrade, I would suggest that you check the option that says "don't show".

  • Chicony webcam

    Hello
I recently bought a m600 portege... and the webcam does not appear in my computer as it should...
It DOES not work with Skype, and so im guessing it will work with msn, however, I can't get the camera to work separately from any of these video chat programs.
I would like to be able to take photos and video with the webcam and I search through the forums and that you HAVE read about the MS. fix... but all the files on the page come as non-applicable? is it because I'm looking for the ar in the wrong place, either because it is not really applicable on my computer?
Is there another way to make the webcam work?
Please answer as soon as possible!

    Thank you!
    Betty

I found this in another thread:

Download the updated Chicony Webcam driver on Toshiba website: ChiconyWebcam Driver v1.7.175.0123
Install Vista Service Pack 1 or the 934374 patch: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/934374
    Update MSN/Yahoo Messenger

Note that you can only use a single application with the webcam at the same time. So if Skype is open or running in the background, it may contain the open webcam. Completely close the system tray Skype and try again.

  • HP Pavilion p7 - 1227c: HP Udate

2-3 days there is a HP Update window popped up on my desk wanting to put up-to-date with an update of the Bios.

After checking it's a HP update to legitimate address window, I accepted that and he began. Then he jumped to the top with this error message: error 7: error in Bioschecksum update for the BIOS JA2, version 80.52 family.  I'm out of the update and rebooted and all is well.

After thinking about this topic, I thought it was strange that an update for the bios would jump up on top of my office, after my warranty expires.

    That's happened?
