What is this system update message legitimate?

It just jumped on my screen T410:

This seems fishy because it gives no indication who sent it or he's going to update.  I've traced the popup to an executable uts.exe appointed and found in these Lenovo files:

c:\Program Files (x 86) \Lenovo\System Update\NEWCLIENT\temp\

c:\ProgramData\Lenovo\TVSUUTS\{96229774-D3A0-4410-8400-09B79865B300}\

It is a legit update of Lenovo, or is it malware?

Hello.

Was supposed to be an image attached to this?

The uts.exe is the executable file for the update of the system, and there was a new version of the utility of the released ThinkVantage System Update June 27, my clients picked up the week last through the update program. Alas, the automatic client update failed in my case, so I just downloaded the new version and configure manually. Once executed, it invites you to you that there is an older version, and if you want to delete.

If TM Titanium has installed in Firefox toolbars that you use / depend on, you can check with their website or the forum. Only the toolbar and toolbar of operation, if any, will be affected; the underlying protection offered by TM titanium should always protect you.

What could you suggest to get the update disc to recognize my system?

I think I've fixed the problem, I formatted FAT16 USB drive and not in FAT32 and also when you use the geteltorito command, it is preferable to use the-o option rather than a redirection ">"syntax. " An article said that it is best to drop in a DOS command line using the USB boot, then run dosflash.exe from there, however, I could not edit the .bat file, but it is an option however.

I hope this helps someone stuck in a similar situation.

    Hi Rockyakauke25,

Welcome to Microsoft answers community forum!

This day stanalone you trying to install?

Try to install the update in safe mode.

Try to install the update in safe mode and see if you are able to install. Safe mode starts Windows with a limited set of files and drivers. Startup programs do not work in safe mode, and only the basic drivers needed to start Windows are installed.

To start in safe mode, follow the steps below:

    1. remove all floppy disks, CDs and DVDs from your computer and restart your computer.

Click the Start button, click the arrow next to the button lock and then click on restart.

2   , do one of the following:

    ·         If your computer has a single operating system installed, press and hold the F8 key as your computer restarts. You need to press F8 before the Windows logo appears. If the Windows logo appears, you need to try again by waiting until the Windows logon prompt appears, and then stop and restart your computer.

    ·         If your computer has more than one operating system, use the arrow keys to select the operating system you want to start in safe mode, and then press F8.

    3. in the display Advanced Startup Options , use the arrow keys to select the option of safe mode you want and press ENTER. For more information about the options, see Advanced startup options (including safe mode).

4 log your computer with a user account with administrator rights.

Install the prerequisite updates before applying a new update that is installed sp 1 for a successful installation sp 2.

See the link for download of SP1 and installation

  • KB971029 is offered, but receive error message 'not applicable for this system.

I had some freezes during the game Fallout3, so I got out and checked the update of Windows, because it is Tuesday, and I thought maybe it was attempts to update that was the problem. While you wait for the update to initialize, I went to the event viewer to see if some other glitch was responsible, and I saw @40 instances of this warning message:

KB971029 is not applicable to this system.

I stopped the update and rebooted to get some info, and it still has this update queued for installation. Can I ignore this as I did with the outdated ATI driver update which was on every list updated for many months?

First, I would check since it is professional Vista was that computer on a field of work or it was already on an area of work? There may be group policies that are in place that prevent to run MMC.

When did start to happening? Is there anything new on the system which has been introduced into the environment (software, hardware)?
