Hello

I found some information on this unit and according to these documents, you can improve the memory to a maximum of 160 MB
Your device should have more than 160 MB of memory if you want to use Windows Xp on your device with a maximum return.

  • Satellite 1625CDT: black screen

OK, I have a toshiba satellite 1625CDT, which is mainly used for writing. I turned it on this morning and the screen was completely black. He did the normal beep sound this start-up and was the sound of windows. Yet, I don't see anything. It also works with the external monitor.

After playing with the resolution and brightness controls (thinking that might have the problem), there was nothing. Also, it is not at a point where I can barely see it. Even after shining a flashlight on the subject, it is completely black (thinking it may have been a bad inverter, but usually when the inverter goes bad, you can barely see anything)

Anyone know what the problem is for this?

    Hello

As you know on this path, it's really not easy to say what can be the problem and in this case, we can only speculate on this. From your description, I assume that the display is faulty and must be replaced.

If you can t even see the home screen Toshiba I really believe that the display is dead.

  • Updating BIOS for Satellite 1625CDT with XP Pro

When I try to update the bios, it is said that it can be run in 98 and 2000, I have xp pro. I also tried to start exploitation f12, it did nothing but initialize and beep at me a lot.

How can I update the bios without having to install a new os (especially when i cannot reinstall pro because of no installation disc or recovery)

    Help, please

    Hello

I checked the page of the Toshiba driver and there is a single place BIOS:
This is version 1.11 of the 18/11/02.
Have you verified that the BIOS Toshiba upgrade document?
Please check. You will find this under the FAQ section on the support page.
You will find the proper procedure the update of the BIOS.
As far as I know, is a procedure to upgrade the BIOS 6.

But I don't know if the upgrade of the BIOS allows you to use a memory of 256 MB.
I found some information that this device can handle only modules memory 32 MB, 64 MB, 128 MB and max 160 MB memory.
In this case you cannot use the module memory 256 MB

  • Update Satellite Pro 420 CDT to Windows 98

I have an old 420CDT Satellite Pro I want to test my wireless router. It was delivered pre-loaded with Windows 95, but I need to upgrade to Windows 98 minimum.

When I run the installer of Windows 98 (upgrade mode) he told me that I should update the Toshiba utility before you continue. However, I can't locate a Toshiba Utility for Windows 98. Someone can help me with this and will it put something else before proceeding?

Sorry, but this unit is not supported with W98 and you will not be able to find a correct driver or tool of Toshiba. Furthermore, I think you expect too much of this old unit which has just 100 MHz processor speed just a bit of RAM. I'm not sure that it can work properly.

Have you ever tried to connect wireless installation Toshiba tools?

  • What type of RAM can I update satellite A60-108

    Hello

Should what kind of RAM I update my Toshiba A60-108, PSA60E-03H0357Y?

I found very interesting site of memory:
    http://www.orcalogic.co.UK/ASP/ProdType.asp?ProdType=11565&ft=m&St=3

Satellite A60-106 listed there, but I think it uses the same modules as the a60-108
According to this page, you can use PC2700 200 pin memory (333 Mhz) DDR SODIMM modules.

As suggested, you can use a slot for an upgrade.
The laptop supports the 1536 MB max (about 1.5 GB) memory
In this case, you can use max 1 GB module.

Isn't it? So why you want to update? Just because Tempro says there's a new update?

In any case try to manually download the VAP.
means that you should visit Toshiba Europe page.
Save the PPV on the HARD drive and unzip it.
Uninstall the VAP old everything first, clean the registry with CCleaner.

  • SD-C2612 IDE #1 error after wrong firmware update - Satellite Pro A10

    Hello
I have a Toshiba Satellite Pro A10, which was flashed with wrong firmware (I don't know which because I don't).

I tried flashing with the right firmware (1315) but get the message to the Primary Master and Slave as "Not ATAPI Device" and "drive not connected".

NB: at the start, even with the deleted DVD ROM, I always get the #1 error IDE.

Update the bios to the latest version would help or is there all the options open for me to solve this problem other than to have recourse to the connection of pin 47 & 45? Would it even solves?

Thanks in advance for any advice you can give.

    Best regards
    Angus

    > I have a Toshiba Satellite Pro A10, which was flashed with wrong firmware (I don't know which because I don't).

Lol :D I have don t wonder you get the IDE #1 error message.
As you say yourself, you have flashed the drive with the wrong firmware. This has damaged the master/slave/c-salt settings of readers and so the BIOS doesn't recognize the CD/DVD drive. But I wonder why someone flashing the drive with a bad firmware?  :| We still know that a wrong firmware can damage the CD/DVD drive... and above all it is not necessary to update the firmware.

    > Update the bios to the latest version would help
The BISO update will not help you because you have already good BIOS and it s NOT a problem of BIOS, but the evil and not compatible firmware is stored.

    > or are there options open for me to solve this problem other than to have recourse to the connection of pin 47 & 45? Would it even solves?
I'm don't know if this helps, but I know that it is not desirable because it may damage the material of CD/DVD players

I recommend you contact the ASP in your country guys might revive the CD/DVD drive. Let's hope

    Clues?

OK, I was confused... I had to look in the section archive. Instead of delete, thought I might leave this as helping others!

  • Updated satellite A20-S103 - CPU and RAM

I have toshiba satellite a20-s103 and I want to spend the cpu and ram.

I need more to upgrade the processor that the RAM, the socket is socket p, please if you find any compatible cpu or ram from e - bay or if you find elsewhere, new cpu, or second hand in a good situation, please report it!

and please tell me if intel core 2 duo or quad is compatible
If you find the intel core 2 quad or compatible with that laptop duo, please report!

    Thank you very much!!!

    Guess what buddy.
    Forget the CPU upgrade!

It is a very old notebook support old chipset.
I'm quite sure that the chipset would not support Intel Core CPU m.

In addition, the memory can be improved up to 1 GB of RAM (2 x 512 MB)
    More is not possible.

In my opinion, if you need more performance, buy a laptop (maybe good work 2nd unit) supporting the newer parts.

  • Problem update satellite P10 554 to XP Pro

    Hello

got the P10 554, with Windows XP Home Edition. Since I have my own copy of XP Pro and need additional components, which are NOT part of the home ed., I tried to update.

Works fine until the point where it says "Starting Windows". The progress bar runs out, the screen goes black and not more disk access hard and CD.

Everyone runs into that as well, or is there a solution for this problem?

  • Update satellite M60-132 with more RAM

    Hello

In order to run Windows Vista on my M60 - 132 I am advised to spend at least 1 GB or 2 GB of RAM, but I don't know exactly what kind of RAM to buy. Could someone advise me please on this issue?

    Thanks in advance!
    Kind regards
    Thomas

Satellite M60 Series supports the simple DDR2 533 MHz PC2-4200 barrettes.
Each laptop or merchant to sell these modules.

As far as I know Toshiba recommend using own modules due to compatibility issues.
I found this number on the options and accessories site:
    DDR2 400/533 256 MB (PA3389U - 1 M 25)
    512 MB DDR2-400/533 (PA3412U - 1 M 51)
    1 GB OF DDR2 400/533 (PA3411U-1M1G)
