Update the device blackBerry Smartphones BB Curve software

Hello world!  Whenever I add/remove apps from my BB8310 using Desktop Manager ver4.7 He also wants to update the ver4.5.0 OS device that is already installed on my phone.  When firstly, he asks me if I want to upgrade to ver4.5.0 I say NO, but he's okay, he'll again throughout the process.  Am I doing something wrong or what?  Thanks for any help!

For device software 4.5 there is minor as updates: 4.5.0.54, 4.5.0.76 etc.

And seems that Desktop Manager wants to upgrade your device to the next minor version software.

If you don't want to do this - turn off automatic updating in the Office Manager.

Recently, when I am connected to BB Desktop Manager, updates available. I agree with all of the updates and he did it successfully. However, whenever I now connect to Desktop Manager, I receive the same message saying that the same updates are available. If I agree to them, he then tells me no updates are available. How can I get rid of this message.

    Hello

In this case, we can try to reload the software on the BlackBerry smartphone to make sure she is running the most recent version and there is no problems with the operating system on the device.

To do this, we would need to back up the BlackBerry Smartphone. Please open the BlackBerry Desktop Manager and plug in your device. Click the backup and restore options, and then select Save. Note the location where the backup is saved will allow us to access later to restore the BlackBerry smart phone.

Once you have saved your BlackBerry smart phone, please follow the link below to complete a clean reload of the Smartphone BlackBerry software.

  • Unlocking the device blackBerry smartphones...

I am new to this, please bear with me!

I've owned my phone for 6 months or with no previous problems, but in recent weeks, the phone seems to have developed a fault.  While the phone lock is still the key to the lock at the top of the phone, is free whenever pressed the a 4 keys down, which means that it is constantly be accidentally unlocked.  I'm sure that there will be an obvious solutuion to this, but it has left speechless me...

I would be very grateful for any help!

Yes, or wait and do the upgrade manually when it is released.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones has tried to update the device software, now unable to connect to the device via USB

I tried to update my 8100 to the 4.5 software.  I first updated the desktop to 4.7 software, then tried to update the device, but the process has failed.

Now, when I open the Desktop Manager it shows not connected to the device.  I can go to the properties of the device mamager and select the balckberry, but when I return to the destop eat it says no device.

It seems that whatever I do, it does not recognize the usb device.

The display on the 8100 is company information only text, no graphics or by phone, and it is virtually unusable.

There are options on the screen for some applications, but if I choose them, it says app not found.

Is there a way to force an update to it?  Or I poohed this phone?

    Thanks in advance

    Edit:

I pulled the battery on the device it reboot and tried to return to a former Office Manager Update

    1. unplug BB from USB and PC. Restart the PC turned off completely.

    2. for BB, you'll charge back to the theme that was used on the device when you upgraded, which will normally give you a black and white screen. You must follow the instructions below.

You will need to use JL_Cmder to wipe the device and then load the operating system on the device. Follow the instructions here:

    http://www.BlackBerryFAQ.com/index.php/How_do_I_wipe_the_BlackBerry_using_Jl_Cmder%3F

If JL_Cmder does not work, follow this instruction:

  • BlackBerry Smartphones location of saved Text messages and downloads please as a desire to update the device software

I have a Blackberry 9300. I noticed while testing option 'restore' in Blackberry Desktop Software 'Saved messages' is grey so not able to restore and downloaded programs were not included in the backup course so I'm delaying the update of the OS 6 bundle OS 6 bundle 1879 2949 until I can get these issues resolved. First of all, where are my saved text messages would be they located on the SD card? Secondly, where are the downloaded applications and how would bring him back, I should reinstall individually or is there a better method I guess updating the software of the device would eliminate any reference to them? Thanks in advance, Marcia

My problem, I think that will be most of the downloads and installations have been from the Blackberry web, although "My World" lists apps, I have only the option to remove and reinstall yet if I so choose. That's why I need to dig a little deeper on the aspect of the place here.

To reinstall your applications, see this KB:

    • KB17625 How to install or transfer has already purchased apps from BlackBerry App World for BlackBerry smartphone

You may also need to clear the cache of application AppWorld:

    1. open the App World

    2. go to my world

    3. follow one (and only one!) of these steps:

    3. for the BB keyboard-oriented - hold down the ALT key and press on, in the sequence R, then S, then T

3B. for touch screen only BBs - hold the num-lock (! 123 button) so that it hangs and then press on, in the sequence 3, then 4, then)

    3 c for the most recent (e, g., OS6 and 7) BB s, see this KB:

    • KB24714 How to clear the cache of BlackBerry App World

    4 AppWorld must close

    5. If your BB locks after issuing clear cache, do a battery pull reboot

    6. return to AppWorld/MyWorld (it can be slow, while it re - sync).

If (4) stage arrives not as described, then the empty the cache failed.

I was also interested to read your information on the primary database of smartphone that made me wonder if it was at this location that the saved text messages were built. I mention this as I save some of my text messages I can consult at any time by selecting 'View the Messages stored' in the menu messages text, which lists the emails and text messages, that you saved.

The Interface of Messages is against the databases on the BB... Watch a saved messages can be as simple as a filter that is applied to display only those, but always from the same database. Also understand that the 'Messages' is a term Super set, with "email", "SMS", and other types of messages into subsets.

    willismc wrote:
Saving messages electronic elsewhere are not a problem but saved SMS backup does not seem to be an option, why would I need to check this feature before upgrading the device software. Appreciate your answer to that one.

As I said, I suspect saved SMS Messages to be a subset of the base of great set 'SMS Messages"together with the message 'saved' being a subset within this database.

I can't answer definitively for you because I've never had the problem you are experiencing. You may need to test to know for sure.

    Good luck!

  • BlackBerry smartphones on curve 8310 device software download

Can I download the device software upgrade directly on the phone? Or should it be downloaded on a PC & then synced to the phone? How can I download the upgrade directly on the phone, if possible?

Not necessarily... you can move to the last operating system of your operator at this link...

Attention, make sure that you use Internet Explorer, it does not work for FireFox.

  • The office blackBerry Smartphones/Device Manager properties

Well, first of all, have had my curve for about a month. Yet to learn... that being said, I have a problem. The night I had my Blackberry, I installed desktop manager 4.7 on my laptop and desktop. Connected my phone via USB. And immediately updates for my phone began to install, well a fatal mistake came and my phone would not work. I had to re - install the OS on my phone. I did it and everything works great. My question is on the Office Manager, in respect of assistance, properties of the device, I have an error message, "a communication error occurred during the attempt to establish a connection to the device. Please reconnect the device to open a new connection. This happens on both computers, and no matter what USB port I use. My husband has exactly the same phone, do not have the updates on his phone and all is well.

I have the BB Curve 8330 (Verizon)

    Desktop Manager version: 4.7.0.32

    Software phone is 4.5.0.77

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Thank you very much for your help, what has worked.

  • Switching devices blackBerry Smartphones using the Desktop Manager

I just got my Torch 9800 replacement since my first only the battery was drainning (apparently a common problem).

Until I returned my old Torch 9800 I backed up and also used the device switch option in Desktop Manager. When it asked me to connect the new device, I unplugged the old camera, he took to the shop orange and then plugged my new camera.

Then an error has occurred and asked me to update the software on the new device. I did it... and then when I use switching devices, it asks me to connect the current device but the problem is... I don't have the camera more.

As I backed up all the data, I did a restore. He restored most of the data, but it has not restored my apps.

Any idea on how I can do?

I hope it is interesting all that.... and I get a better battery life this time!

Hi and welcome to the Forums!

Ah... never mind. While the device switch Wizard can indeed move a few apps, the backup/restore process does not have applications. So, in the State you are in, you must go to the source of your applications and re - get them. If you by AppWorld, the process is very smooth:

    • KB17625 How to install or transfer has already purchased apps from BlackBerry App World for BlackBerry smartphone

If you have from other sources, then you should see if these sources are a simple way for you. I hope you have good record of all your activation keys... and some will indeed have to be regenerated some developers to attach the key on the BB SPINDLE, which is now different since you have a new device.

    Good luck!

OS 6 is underway on the BB

What is the problem with my phone now? Usually, I get the error "this application has encountered an error and cannot continue" I want just my email in return. For the most part, I get "your device had a problem connecting to the server.

    I hope you can help.

Hello and welcome to the community!

I suggest the following, in order, even if they seem redundant to what you have already tried (steps 1 and 2, each should result in a message to your BB to come...) Please wait for this before moving on to the next step):

    (1) registry HRT

    • KB00510 How to register a BlackBerry smartphone with wireless network

    (2) remove and return Service directories

    • KB05000 Remove the maintenance book for the BlackBerry Internet Service email account in the BlackBerry smartphone
    • KB02830 Send the directories for the BlackBerry Internet Service

    (3) restart to take batt

    • Each time a random strange behavior or slow creeps, the first thing to do is a battery pop reboot. With power ON, remove the hood back and remove the battery. Wait a minute, then replace the battery and cover. Power on and wait patiently through the long reboot - about 5 minutes. See if things return to functioning. Like all computing devices, BB suffers from memory leaks and others... with a hard reboot is the best remedy.

I hope that will move things again for you! If this isn't the case, then you should contact TM for formal support.

    Good luck!

  • Update blackBerry Smartphones for curve 4.5

I have a curve AT & T phone and trying to update... But I do it every time says I have the latest version (but I looked into the section and he said that I am running v4.2).  Is this just a thing AT & T or I do something wrong?

    Thank you!

No, it won't spoil anything (with the caveat that you need to follow the instructions exactly, and that Yes, there is always a chance, even with the most intelligent expert do this process that there could be a glitch in the process that may make the device unusable temporarily).

Make sure you first do a full backup of your device.

  • Help blackBerry Smartphones! Curve 8900 failure update. Error 507.

I tried to update and it has messed up.  Error 507.  I tried to reload the software but the pc is no longer recogizes to which it is attached.

    Help, please.

It simply means that the device has no operating system on it. Do this first:

Download and install your operating system on your PC.

    http://www.BlackBerryForums.com/General-8900-series-discussion-Javelin/193197-latest-OS-8900-4-6-1-3...

Restart the PC and plug in the appliance when it is restarted.

Then follow the instructions in the link above using the loader.exe file.

    IF none of this works...

You will need to use JL_Cmder to wipe the device and then load the operating system on the device. Follow the instructions here:

    http://www.BlackBerryFAQ.com/index.php/How_do_I_wipe_the_BlackBerry_using_Jl_Cmder%3F

If JL_Cmder does not work, follow this instruction:

Hope someone can help me, I me upgrade the firmware on a 8300 colleagues, he crashed with a fatal error. He must have reached a stage where he has updated and was about to copy the original data back in because that all user information are empty. I know he he saves when it upgrades the firmware I need to know is there a way to manually restore this backup. I ran the same procedure on my 8300 own no problem but unfortunately my colleague has never saved her using the desktop app, then he lost everything. Thanks in advance

Search the PC for any file.. *.ipd. all the files backup Blackberry device end by extension "pi."

I hope you find that and then using Desktop Manager > restore > advanced, in the left pane, choose open, navigate to the ipd file and restore the databases to the device.

  • Update problem of blackBerry Smartphones devices

I wasn't sure which forum to post this, so I started here.

I have a lot of Torches I need to update.  I can't do wireless so I use the desktop software to do this.  I downloaded the update of my career and install it on my PC.  I ran a single device through the process and everything worked fine.  I have 2 other devices on my computer since then, and no device recognizes that there is an update.  I tried one of the devices on another computer where I installed the update.

The desktop software is allowed to update only 1 device?  I have about 20 to make and want to bring back to my computer to update.  Or how an I can get several devices to update to a computer?

Thanks in advance for your help.

    Dave

I find that Desktop software works very well.  I found an update to the version I was using.  Since I installed the update, things are working well.  It seemed weird that after the first, other blackberries could not do the update.

    Thanks for you help.
