Update to 10.11.4 recovery partition

I use DeployStudio and wants to be able to create a NetBoot image for my workgroup deployments. The NetBoot image will be broken if you go and create a NetBoot image anyway, when the wizard of DeployStudio complains about the incompatibility of versions of system.

Unfortunately the 10.11.4 update did not update the recovery partition on the machines I tested, and I even tried with the Combo Update as well.

Can I update this partition manually, perhaps using the package command in the terminal, or any other solution?

All the best from Denmark,

Søren

Only complete installers update the recovery Partition.

If you download the full installer of your shopping page in the Mac App Store and run, your recovery partition will be updated.

  • Creation of the disk recovery Partition recovery disks or HARD.

I hope that I get good advice from experts today.

Is it possible to create a custom (mine) HARD drive recovery partition?

Is it possible to create discs of recovery with all the updates and the installed program?

Is it possible to update the recovery partition? (with whatever software and installed updates)

For example, I have a laptop pre-installed with Win XP SP2 and I have upgraded to Win XP SP3 and for some reason any if I restore my laptop with the recovery discs or HDD recovery partition, the laptop will be restored to the factory loaded condition (this is XP SP2). Once again, I have to install all programs and install all updates (XP SP3). If we can create a custom recovery disks or custom recovery partition then we can very quickly restore the laptop easily to the last condition (condition at the time of the creation of the partition to restore or restore disks). It would be better if we can create the recovery partition as nothing else is needed other than the laptop for the recovery.

Another option to achieve this is with Norton Ghost (or similar tool) but the problem is that we must always continue the Norton Ghost boot disk to start and recover the image. The compatibility problem with a model in particular must be checked. I installed Norton Ghost 9 on a laptop and the laptop turns off not with the shutdown command, and I have to turn off with the power button / stop. This problem was not to withdraw 9 of Norton Ghost. If we can create our own custom recovery partition, save us a lot of resources--time, money, broadband bandwidth and no tension of the installation of all new programs.

Experts should Tips how to create the custom recovery partition and if this function is not available now experts should examine the possibility of updating the required HARD drive recovery partition.

  • Satellite P750 (PSAY1A) - How update the recovery partition?

Now that I found out that using the recovery on a new HARD drive would create the recovery Partition... comes the question... How do I update the recovery partition.

My Toshiba Satellite P750 (PSAY1A-01Y022) the factory settings has 132 update of Windows that should be applied during the first pass. I had to run Windows update 4 times before she shows "up-to-date". Not to mention drivers Toshiba as well.

I also want to include some applications (Microsoft Office and other software and utilities)...
Overall, I spent 2 days just to bring it t the State I want in.
But I can't just access the recovery Partition (of the less any of this!)

If you look at disk management, the recovery Partition is not a Volume name and that the file system is empty. If I right click on the recovery partition... all I see is "Help" Option

I tried to assign a drive by using Diskpart letter... but it doesn't show much.
My guess is that it is GBT/EUFI.

Does anyone have experience updating the recovery Partition?

    > Now that I found out that using the recovery on a new HARD drive would create the recovery Partition... comes the question... How do I update the recovery partition.

What do you mean by update recovery partition?
The recovery partition should NOT be touched!

In which case you'd change the partition, the HARD drive recovery process could not be started!

Probably, you have not understood the meaning of such a HARD drive recovery procedure.
It's the option provided by Toshiba and the recovery of HARD drive allows you to establish the notebook to factory settings; on the same State as at the first day of the purchase.

  • Satellite L450D-11V - update recovery partition

On my Satellite L450D-11V with Windows 7 Premium 64-bit, Tempro today said there is an important update that replaces the recovery partition with a new, to overcome the problem of error message on portable computers with more than 4 GB of RAM. Although I have only 3GB, it says that the update is for everyone because it can go to more than 4 GB in the future.

It is all very well, so I downloaded and tried to run the .exe unpacked, but at half way through the installation, he stops and tells me that the update is only for 64 bit versions of Windows 7... which is mine. I got it for five days, it came with Windows 7 Prem 64 bit and I certainly did not use 32-bit downgrade DVD and it says clearly "64 - bit operating system" in my computer.

    Hello

Update do you mean exactly? Can you post information please as filename, etc.. ?

Normally there is no recovery partition. There is only one file called HDDrecovery on the second partition where you can reinstall Windows from this folder. On Vista and Windows 7, there is a hidden partition but it s the Windows recovery environment and has nothing to do with Toshiba.

Moreover, I don t use TEMPRO because install updates manually if it of necessary.

  • Update recovery partition

I think that hp / compaq should create a cylindre update software that would allow a user to the client update their recovery partition, so that if they were to perform a recovery of the system don't we clear tell an OS - the operating system upgrade.  ex: Microsoft Windows Vista Home Premium, I want to update for HP/Compaq Windows 7 Home Premium.  In other words, the recovery partition would not return to the factory installed OS but rather to the OS upgrade.

More probably, that violates the license agreement with Microsoft. At least, I imagine it would be. You're talking about two separate copies of separate operating system software.

As a general rule, a clean install is preferable and there should be no problem with your laptop - a guide on performing a new installation of a drive to upgrade can be found on the following link.

No, recovering files is read-only. The only time I've seen is file recovery corrupted if HP issues a patch that is capable of writing to them_which rarely occurs.

Used the recovery partition (windows 7) to get rid of a virus. Can I update immediately for windows 10 or do I install all the updates of Windows 7 first of all?

  • Add updates on the Alienware recovery partition

    Hello

I bought an Alienware M11XR3 during 2011, it came with win7 and no service pack.

Recently, I created a USB Alienrespawn recovery but I don't think it's updated SP1 of win7, to new dell drivers for audio, video, etc...

    Is it possible to check?

Is it possible to add these updates on a USB of recovery and the original recovery partition?

There is not official but suggested software to do?

    Thank you very much

    Hi Kiran,

Thank you for your kind reply.

In fact I have active SP1 and latest drivers works fine. I just need to format the PC because of accumulated file clutter and save problems due to widely used (many programs install/uninstall) I'm not really able to clean. So I would like to make a facility instead of factory restore then update it, but unfortunately, it seems the only way.

Thanks again and with regard to the best

  • updated victory 8 to 8.1, how ensure the recovery partition is the same

I have a laptop of 15-E0116AU provided with windows 8 is installed. I've now updated to 8.1, and I was wondering if anyone can confirm that the recovery partition now some how has also upgraded to 8.1.

the upgrade took 5 hours and I don't want to go through that again,

I called HP support and was told that Yes, the recovery partition will recover to 8.1, BUT on microsoft.com site the page says it's not too and any OEM recovery partition will restore the original operating system [which is 8 on my system].

If HP... which is the correct answer please.

I already have a set of recovery discs, if HP doesn't let me do another one with 8.1 upgrade.

    John

The HP Recovery partition will recover your computer to a factory State, including BONES and the original software.

Please use the windows 'backup system image"utility to create an accurate picture of the Windows partition 8.1 as it is currently, on a hard drive external, USB drive or network drive. You will also need to create a disc to 'fix' Windows. If your computer develops questions or you need to replace the hard drive, all you have to do is to "restore" the image on the computer. Please see Windows 8.1 Tip: use System Image backup for instructions on creating and restoring a 'Windows - System Image backup.'

This process is not a system recovery and is different than using the window restore or refresh or HP System Recovery.

  • integration of updates in the recovery partition (is this possible?)

I want to integrate windows XP sp3 (the current recovery is windows XP sp2) and a few other updates in my thinkpad R60e recovery so that the next time I'm back I can't run windows update 3 hours after

I burned the CD/DVD recovery and even has tested them with good results

also I would like to integrate programs in there (it's less a question if) such as Mozilla Firefox and updating old programs that are in the recovery (i.e. adobe reader 9 instead of 7)

I realize it's a lot to ask, but it would be very useful if I could, because I may not always have the time to install these updates after recovering

They would interfere with the process of recovery if you installed in the partition
