Update video controller error

I updated my windows 7 Home Edition premium Inspiron 1440 with the windows update utility, and after that I restarted my computer, the theme changed to windows 7 starter and I saw that the video controller has not been installed correctly, so I tried to manually update the driver and every time I try to do this It shows that he has failed. I can't restore because it has been disabled for the time that I started the installation of updates, also, I downloaded the driver from intel and when he almost finished, it displays a message and it says that fails, agaain :(

Hi, Ernesto.

Thank you for your update on the issue.

Ideally, if you receive the error Windows Update 80070103 while installing updates, you might be trying to install a driver is already installed on your computer or a driver that might be less compatible that you have already installed.

In this case, I suggest you follow method 2 and install the latest video driver from the Dell Portal form. Also, see the steps in the following link and check if it helps.

    Hello:

The video card is not windows vista or windows 7 capable.

I can give you the link for a driver that should allow you to change the resolution of your screen and select the graphics acceleration.

What you have not and will never have is Aero, unless you purchase a Windows 7 capable PCIe compatible video card with the model.

So, this gives a try if you want.  You must install it via the back door...

    1. download and run the laptop equivalent of the desktop video driver.

    http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/SoftwareDescription.jsp?lang=en&cc=us&prodTypeId=321957&prodSeriesId=447371&prodNameId=447348&swEnvOID=2096&swLang=8&mode=2&taskId=135&swItem=ob-47264-1

    2. you will get an error stating in substance that the operating system is not supported.

    3. close the error dialog window.

    4. go to the Device Manager and in the section graphics cards, click on your adapter VGA Standard.

    Click the driver tab.

Click on set to update driver.

Select the 'Browse my computer for the software' and navigate to the driver installation folder that was created when you ran the file.

This file is located in C:\SWSetup\sp34749.

Make sure that the include subfolders is selected, and the driver should install.

Reboot and you should have a pretty decent screen now, just no Aero.

If you are not satisfied with my improvisation, you can get some good cheap used W7 capable video cards on eBay that will work very well with your dc7100 if you want anything fancy.  I have a few recommendations.

Otherwise, proceed again with a Radeon HD4350, that should work perfectly for this model.

    Hello:

The graphics card in your laptop is not quite able to run Vista or 7.

This is a driver that will allow you to change the resolution of the screen and have the graphics acceleration, but you don't have Windows Aero, because the GMA900 graphics card is not capable of running Aero.

Download and run this driver.  You will probably get an error not supported operating system.

Go to Device Manager and click on the video controller requiring driver.

Click the driver tab.  Click on set to update driver.  Select her browse my computer for driver software option and navigate to the folder of the driver that was created when you ran the graphic driver file.

This file will be located in C:\SWSetup\sp34749.  Make sure that the include subfolders is selected, and the driver should install.

    Hello:

The graphics card in your laptop is not completely capable of W7.

Here is a work around, you can adjust the resolution of the screen and have the graphics acceleration running W7.

You won't have Aero (this is why the GMA 900 is not completely capable of W7).

Download and run this graphics driver.  You will probably get an error not supported operating system.

    http://h20564.www2.HP.com/hpsc/SWD/public/detail?s p4ts.oid = 447304 & swItemId = ob_47264_1 & swEnvOid = 2096 #.

    Conclusion of any windows error.

Go to Device Manager and click to expand the category graphics cards.

Click on the VGA Standard card.  Click the driver tab.  Click on set to update driver.  Select her browse my computer for driver software option and navigate to the folder of the driver that was created when you ran the file.

This file will be located in C:\SWSetup\sp34749.

Make sure that the include subfolders is selected and if all goes well, the driver will be installed.

After reboot, you should have decent graphics, just not Aero.

  • Qosmio F20 - 136 multimedia video controller does not

Control, video controller Panel material-multi media has the yellow question mark. Also in MCE, I get a message saying that the drivers work do not or TV tuner hardware.

I reinstalled from the recovery discs and installed all updates to MCE 2005 rollup including net.1.1 sp1. Physical control of the Panel there is no TV Tuner input.

In tools the tv tuner driver is shown as installed.
Any advice would be welcome. ------This is a new machine to buy, so it may be a hardware problem

    Hello

As far as I know, you will not find all the tuner entries in the control panel.
In Control Panel, you can find the graphics card option as nView desktop manager of nVidia Geforce.
The TV tuner driver is important to receive signals in MCE

However, if the yellow exclamation point appears in the device manager then I guess the driver fails or is wrong. You should try to update. Please note that on the driver of the page you will find driver for Windows XP and WinXP MCE.

  • Problems installing video controller on M40X-233

I have a Toshiba Satellite M40X-233 and have the following problem: after purchase, I went on this site to get the latest drivers for my laptop. Installed everything ok except the video controller. After installation of this one (Intel controller), he asked I want to reboot the machine and then could not connect, there wasn't enough resources to load the connection profile. I could only fix the problem by loading mode without failure and unistalling the #$% & pilot. After that, I tried to install the old drivers that came with the laptop, but the behavior is the same... So now I uninstalled and that you don't have any video controller, which is really bad, but well, at least I can work... everyone has the same problem? How to correct?

    Kind regards

    Hello

First of all what I want to know, is why you updated your drivers after buying a new laptop? In my opinion the new book must work properly and it is not necessary to update anything.
Second, the graphics card, you can check in the Device Manager.
What you should know. But I also checked this information on this device one that laptop has a Mobile Intel 915GM Express Chipset AlvisoGM graphics card. In this case, you need a graphic driver Intel.

On this site you will find a driver needed.

  • driver for VGA video controller adaptable

    Hi all

I have configured my computer Inspiron 518 to do a dual boot: Windows XP and Windows 7 originally, it came with Windows Vista , and that's what the machine is registered with.  My problem is I'm trying to update the driver for my video controller (VGA adaptable) for Windows XP but support Dell recommends only drivers for Vista.  How to find and download the drivers appropriate for the OS?  Would appreciate any comments on this problem.
    Thank you.

If Dell does not have XP drivers, your best bet/bet is to visit the site of the manufacturer of the chipset for a generic driver.

Check in Windows 7 for the manufacturer and model/chipset in the Device Manager and go to the site looking for XP drivers.

BCCode: 117 is generally a problem of display driver (video) If you need to update (check the system machine
and the sites of the manufacturer of the device. You will need to remove and reinstall your video card a PC and not
edge. Perhaps a replacement card is necessary.

If necessary you can perform in SafeMode with network - repeatedly F8 tap that you start.

This is my generic how updates of appropriate driver:

Control Panel - Device Manager - Display Adapter - note the brand and complete model of your
video card - double - tab of the driver - write version information. Now click on UPdate Driver (this
cannot do anything as MS is far behind the certification of drivers) - then do a right click - Uninstall - REBOOT

Repeat this for network - card (NIC), Wifi network, sound, mouse, and keyboard if 3rd party with their

Now go to the site of the manufacturer of system (Dell, HP, Toshiba as examples) (restoration) and then of the manufacturer of the device

updates on the site of the manufacturer of the system here.)

Download - SAVE - go to where you put them - right click - RUN AD ADMIN - REBOOT after each installation.

Always check in the Device Manager - tab drivers version you install actually shows up. This
because some restore drivers before the most recent is installed (particularly that audio drivers) so install a
pilot - reboot - check that it is installed and repeat if necessary.

Repeat to the manufacturers - BTW on device at the DO NOT RUN THEIR SCANNER - manually check by model.
