Update Windows 7 not configuration.

I have a Pav dv6t and the last Windows Update will not show off the computer as it installs.  The computer turns off automatically.  At startup, it says it set up the update of the window, but it remains at 0% until it times out (thankfully) and allows me to connect.

What can I do to get the update processed?

This time, I went to HP and support, and click Help on software updates.  Have downloaded a few of them and the problem of Windows Update seems to have disappeared.  Thank you.

    Hey Monty,

What version of Windows 7 are you running?

Go in Start > run and type winver to know. You must run Windows 7 Home Premium or higher in order to create an ad hoc network. Windows 7 Starter Edition cannot act as a server/host adhoc.

I suggest you try the steps from the following link on how to create the ad hoc network.

  • Windows will not configure my computer from recovery disks...

I have a HP desktop computer and my hard drive failed.  I bought a new hard drive.  I tried to reinstall windows on the new drive using the recovery discs, I did when I first bought my computer.  It goes through the process of formatting and installation. Start Windows configure my computer.  After a few minutes, I get a message box saying "Windows can not configure your equipment for this computer."  When I click on the 'OK' button, my computer restarts and the process begins again. What should I do to make this work?

    Hello

This problem occurs because Windows Vista cannot distinguish between ambiguous hard disks.

In versions of Microsoft Windows Setup that are prior to the installation of Windows Vista, the hard disks are marked with distinct values to distinguish them. However, this method of distinction between the drives is no longer supported due to the risk of corruption of data on hard disks.

    Hello

Your error message, the problem is probably caused by BIOS or DVD settings or bad cabling to SATA hard drive. Please do the following to narrow down because of the problem.

    (a) ensure that all laptops the same hardware, the same manufacturer and the same model.

    (b) upgrade the BIOS to the latest version; go into the BIOS and enable "Load Fail - Safe Defaults".

    Warning of the BIOS:
BIOS change / oxide of additional metal (CMOS) semiconductor parameters incorrectly can causeserious problems that may prevent your computer from starting properly. Microsoft cannot guarantee that problems resulting from the configuration of the BIOS/CMOS settings can be solved. Changes to settings are at your own risk.

    (c) If you connect the SATA drives, please configure the SATA controller in compatible mode in the BIOS.
  • "Installation of Windows could not configure windows to run on a hardware on this computer."

I recently released and bought 4 hard to present itself as a raid 10 disks, now I use my motherboards onboard fakeraid an ihc10r. The cables are fine and when I try and install windows 7 (64 x pro) on each disk with raid and ahci disabled in the bios, windows installs fine. Now when I raid raid 10 disks windows install can see the drive and even then, I load the drivers just to be sure that iastor.sys etc. (I tried with and without) is the same every time after the first reboot, I get about 10 minutes and 2 minutes after the resolution of the screen is adjusted BOOM "installation of windows could not configure windows to run on a hardware on this computer."

First of all, then someone please help me get windows installed on my raid?

Second, microsoft, your error messages leave much to be desired, it does not yet add a message in the Setup error log.

EDIT: Forgot to add that I did a memtest and it happened, I also have the piece of garbage jmicron on my MB off the power. In addition, the facility produces when the SATA controller is in AHCI mode, BUT not in raid mode.

Seems to me that if the software/driver is not compatible Windows 7. Also if any of the readers have reminants of your installation for each individual unit, Windows 7 may not be able to deal with formatting during the installation process. Try to download CD bootable diagnostic of the manufacture in car and do two things.

    (1) check each drive individually for issues.

    (2) wipe the drive (WD can for example remove the first and last part of the training which completely removes the MBR and other reminants for the final result is the drive looks like you just removed from the box and plugged in for the first time.)

Any help would be appreciated... Gateway is only interested to collect money.  They have no interest in serving the poor suckers who buy their products (computer is 2 years old so it is out of warranty).

    Thanks for the reply.

Fortunately, I solved the problem myself (after 19 hours of stress).
The problem is that the recent hard disk has something different that no longer ages and makes pre-service pack 1 (SP1 solves the problem) versions of Windows 7 incompatible. My set of recovery disks have been created the day I bought the computer, which had no windows updates installed at the time.

There is an "easy solution" on the Microsoft support site: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2466753/en-us

Unfortunately, their method works only if you have a Windows 7 installation disc, which does most of the people who buy computers pre-built manufacturers. Essentially, the solution is to install SP1 from a disc when don't give you the possibility to load drivers during installation, an option that the gateway recovery disks.

So I thought that, theoretically, if I use my recovery discs to get a clean install on a hard drive that works, then use windows update to get updated (or at least to get SP1), and then make a set of NEW recovery disks (using windows backup: start > all programs > maintenance > Backup and Restore), I should be able to use these discs to install the new hard disk.

    It worked.

So for someone else who has this same problem with new hard disks, I hope that the above is easy to understand. If not, ask someone else more savvy and show them this thread. Do not forget that at the end to create new recovery disks, it will ask you if you also want to create a 'system' repair disc. DO THIS! This is the disk that you need to start from when you are ready to install.

Also: If your new hard drive is bigger than the one that you have created the new recovery disks, the partition on your new hard drive (once everything is installed) will be the same size as the one that you have created the records on. You will need to use a kind of editor of score for re - size. I recommend Gnome Partition Editor. http://www.gparted.org

Burn gparted Live CD and him, resize your partition, and you're done (google for more in-depth instructions).

  • Windows Update - Windows could not search for new updates 8024402F

Hi a family member recently gave me their laptops because Windows Update has been warning that it was unable to check the updates.  It is currently running Visa Home Premium 32 bit.  After much googling and try several suggestions such as rename the file and the updated Windows Update repair tool, that I couldn't solve the problem so did a factory restore and went to reinstall the programs.  To my surprise the problem returns.  I did a restore to factory again and this time installed Vista SP2 from the file download full, installed office 2003, applied to Office 2003 SP3 and all other updates to Office 2003 I have saved and installed IE9.  Windows Update worked at this stage.  I ghost the PC, then changed Windows update of "Windows only" Windows Update "Windows and other Microsoft products" and re-run.  He looked for hours until I turned off the PC and now error code 8024402F.  My first thought is what happens when you turn on other products from microsoft for Windows Update is it downloads and installs something on the web.  Is there a problem with this module?  I have not yet installed an Antivirus so I know this isn't a factor.  Does anyone have any ideas as to what may be the problem?

    Thank you Jose,

I think that I already tried but tried again without success.  I tried several things including Windows 7 instead of Vista, a different installation of Microsoft Office 2003 in the case where mine was corrupted etc, but still no luck.  As soon as Windows Update has been changed to include Microsoft Products he kept fails with this error.

In the end, I tried newer versions of Office (reconstruction of the laptop each time) and with Office 2010 and Office 2013 it works fine.

My uneducated conclusion is that there is a compatibility issue with Microsoft Update and Office 2003.

So my solution is to upgrade to Office 2013.  Sorry, it is not a solution to the real problem, more of a work around, but hey 2003 was almost 10 :) 9 years ago

    Hello

I suggest you borrow the CD of windows vista to your friends

    Method 1:

    Step 1:

I suggest you check in safe mode.

Start your computer in safe mode

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/start-your-computer-in-safe-mode

    Step 2:

If you be able to start your computer in safe mode, I'd say make clean boot and check.

Place the computer in a clean boot state, then check if it helps. You can start Windows by using a minimal set of drivers and startup programs. This type of boot is known as a "clean boot". A clean boot helps eliminate software conflicts.

    Thanks for any help

I suspect that Norton might be part of the question, and if you were to perform an Internet search on something like:

the failure of the Norton windows update

You will see more than a million results with these words:

Granted there are problems with Windows Update, because for several months but if your updates are downloading and just do not install I would suspect Norton - because in their community of support online, there are so many reports of problems and many, many debates and ideas for things to try that can work sometimes maybe (sometimes they work) , adjustments for Norton, the reinstall from scratch... it is very messy.

In their community, they discuss especially Norton vs. Windows updates and you tell your update Adobe and Trusteer OK but those who use a different method to update that updates Windows, the problem could be JUST with Windows updates.

Unless you are forced to use Norton for a reason, you should consider at least temporarily uninstall, then reboot your system without it and see what things look like.  You can always install it again later, no?

You must be sure to use their custom tool to be sure that the uninstall is clean:

    https://support.Norton.com/SP/en/us/home/current/solutions/v60392881_EndUserProfile_en_us

Some people dislike not so much of Norton (and the problems that come with it) they believe Norton its own type of computer infection and malware.  I would never recommend or install it, but your mileage may vary.

Remember to replace Norton with something like Microsoft Security Essentials, which has a much smaller footprint, and you can download the low low price of free:

    https://www.Microsoft.com/en-US/Download/details.aspx?ID=5201

Your system will give you better performance.

As mentioned hit Windows Update for a long time too, but you can probably fix that part.
