Updated OEM MS Works to Office 2007 Standard
I have a HP pavilion Elite M9426f I bought the standard MS Office 2007 upgrade. I've linked to install and it cannot find the files for the upgrade on the machine. I tried to install the update for Microsoft Works 9 and Works SE 9 (KB943290) and it needs the location of the install MS works files, asking the cd. Is there a location for these files so I can switch to MS Office 2007 Standard.
Contact HP and spoke with Nathan K we tried several things and everything worked. Uninstalling ms works9 reinstallin uninstall office and the trial version of the House. Downloaded finall version track Office Standard 2007 and installed. Then launched it and put it in my product code for Office 2007 update and it worked. I'm now good thanks to HP chat.

Windows Update suggests to install 125KO Office 2007 SP1 repeatedly. I agree to install each time, updates installs "successfully", but suggest Windows Update to install next time. It started to happen after uninstallation and reinstallation of Office 2007.
Kind regards
Dima125 KB is obviously not a ServicePack because this would be much MB in size, you have a number of KB (knowledge base) to go with the annoying update?

As for the "Changes" problem that I have no real solution for this, only that you remove every bit of desktop of your machine and everything don't reinstall desktop applications you need. It could be a corrupted registry which is behind this problem.

Windows Update error Code 646 on Office 2007 update KB976321
Got a 646 on KB976321
What now?
Sorry, you have problems getting your patches installed. I have a number of things for you to look at. First of all, your Background Intelligent Transfer Services set to Automaticand started and Windows Update ? You can check these settings by typing services.msc in the search box of the start menu.
Sometimes in order to get patches to install correctly, you must perform these tasks manually. You can download and run the patch directly from Microsoft: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?displaylang=en&FamilyID=160ad53e-6475-4550-90c2-444e4abea730.
If this does not work, try to run the Microsoft OneCare safety scanner. Sometimes it will solve problems of hidden registry, or can clear the virus that can prevent the installation of the patches: http://onecare.live.com/site/en-us/center/whatsnew.htm. Click full service scan, and then Quick scan (full scan takes a long time to complete). Try the patches.

System hangs when you work in Office 2007
Twice now, my computer has weighed when using (1) with EXCEL 2007 and (2) a former OUTLOOK 2003 message. It also displays a white screen with different colors of blue lines and rectangles - almost as if it was an EXCEL spreadsheet without letters or numbers. I can not access any control, e. g. the Task Manager. And it doesn't turn off if I turn off the power supply. When I reboot, things seem to load OK. Does anyone have an idea of what is happening and how to fix it? I use VISTA Home Premium SP2.
Hi SandyJC,
To help resolve the error and other messages, you can start Windows Vista by using a minimal set of drivers and startup programs. This type of boot is known as a "clean boot". A clean boot helps eliminate software conflicts.
Perform the check and the clean boot if you have the problem.
1. click on Start, type msconfig in the search box and press ENTER.
If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password, or click continue.
2. in the general tab, click Selective startup.
3. under Selective startup, clear the Load Startup items check box.
4. click on the Services tab, select the hide all Microsoft Services check box, and then click disable all.
5. click on OK.
6. When you are prompted, click restart.
7. after the computer starts, check if the problem is resolved. If the problem is resolved to check what is the cause of the problem, referring to the link given below:
http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/929135Reset the computer to start as usual
When you are finished troubleshooting, follow these steps to reset the computer to start as usual:
Click Start, type msconfig in the search box and press ENTER.
If you are prompted for an administrator password or for confirmation, type your password, or click continue.
On the general tab, click the Normal startup option, and then click OK.
When you are prompted to restart the computer, click restart.I hope this helps!

Download Microsoft Office Home & Student 2007 but the automatic updates do not work.
Hello. Thanks in advance for your help here.
I am at a loss to know what to do.
Recently, I downloaded Microsoft Office Home & Student 2007, which seems to be very well. The problem is the automatic updates do not work. After searching online, I did the start > run > Winver and he says I have Service Pack 3. Then I went to control panel in Add/Remove Programs, and even if it is listed, there is no indication that it is actually installed.
I remember a year or there are problems with SP3, when I tried to upgrade to IE8 so "I THINK" I removed it. Probably shouldn't have done that! But IE8 has worked fine once I removed it. Microsoft says that we will no longer receive automatic updates to SP2 in June and so we have to upgrade to SP3. Well, I just don't know what I have on my computer at this point!
Anyway, now I get these failed messages on the updates for the Office:
The 2007 Microsoft Office Suite Service Pack 2 (SP2)
Update for Microsoft Office System 2007 (KB967642)
Update of security for Microsoft Office System 2007 (KB951944)
Update of security for Microsoft Office 2007 (KB951550)So I thought I'd download the SP2. But I did not know if Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0 Service Pack 2 actually means I have SP2 installed or not. And I got in such a mess last year I don't want to take any chances again.
I'm sorry that it is a message that is too long. I tried to print screens to attach more information, but that did not work. Let me know what you need.
Thank you very much in advance for your help.
Diane
I found more information. Looking in my history of update for automatic updates, all 4 of these updates failed have the same error Code which is: 0 x 80070663. I don't know if this info helps solve this problem or not, but that's it.

Office 2007 does not open after the Vista update
Hello world
I've been using a trial version of Office 2007 Standard supplied with my notebook for almost two months without any problem. Yesterday I updated to Vista x 64 and now I get a "the application failed to start because its side-by-side configuration is incorrect." pop up when I try to open any office program.
I uninstalled and downloaded another version to test, but when I try to open Word or any other part of the office, I get the same error.
Out of all the "" regular updates, it's the only one that is a new: Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 Service Pack 1 and the .NET Framework 3.5 Family Update (KB951847) x 64 I guess this is the prob.
I tried to uninstall Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5, but the uninstall program always, said: "Setup.exe has stopped working".
Someone has any idea how to solve this problem?
Thank you
Here's an update. The two programs of Nikon not open as well. I don't know what other progs have been affected.

Office 2007 and after recent update blue screen errors
After a recent update installed before shutdown, the Office 2007 applications will not start. An attempt is made to the installation program which translates by the display of an error box indicating that the office is not installed for this user (happens with all users). Office 2007 will not uninstall, and even attempts to repair or reinstall from the original disk fail. I tried to uninstall the update indicated and get up now a blue screen at startup. Any ideas on how to solve this problem.
It is a problem with XP not Windows7, I changed the perameters during the validation of the request, but he always finished in the category of Windows7.
