  • BlackBerry OS from Smartphones to the "educational" model updates

I work with a BB 9530 labeled "EDUCATIONAL CLASSROOM USE ONLY." So it is not a carrier it's just material.

Now his stock running BB OS version 4.7 and I want to get to 5.0. However, given the update process it seems you need to find a carrier that supports the BB OS 5.0, i.e. it is not enough that it is a 9530...

Is there a way I can update my educational model 9530 BB to BB OS 5.0, because it has no support?

Try to do this then.  Download a program called BBSAK from http://bbsak.org/ and install it on your computer.

Make sure that your phone data has been backed up before continuing.

Open BBSAK and enter your password when promped.  If you do not have a password, and then click Ok.  Click on the "Wipe Device" button on the first screen.  Note that this will wipe all data and applications from your device, including the operating system.  Once the wipe is complete, and your device displays an error 507 on the screen, click "Load OS" on BBSAK.  This will load the loader.exe file and make sure that the vendor.xml file and all backups have been removed correctly.

Then you should be able to go forward with the loading of the OS without any problem.

  • Memory of understanding blackBerry Smartphones and applications

Someone enlighten me please. I download an app - for example of GoogleMaps. I run it once, and then it remains in memory. Finally, as I open other applications, I get a message that my BB is low on the memory and asks if I want to delete an application. So if I understand correctly, when I remove the application, he is gone - is no longer available for me at all. What I want is simply to remove it from memory and be able to start it again at a later date. What Miss me?

The strict answer to your question is NO - all apps, when installed, are installed to AppMemory. Now, if you want to ask if he can run, be arrested and run again... it is a question of enforcement.

The GMail app module will not launch automatically when the BB is restarted... you need to launch it after a reboot. If you simply quit the app without doing as described above, the GMail module application will remain running.

GMaps, looks on the other hand, have an automatic launch capability, especially if you share your location via Latitude. After a proper reboot (pull batt), if you see, in the Ribbon AppSwitcher, GMaps, then it is indeed to auto-launch. While I have found no setting to prevent that, you can always exit properly GMaps and that it stops.

AppSwitcher tape can always be checked to see what is running. But it is not reliable 100%... There are applications that can continue to run, but not displayed in the Ribbon.

    Good luck!

  • BlackBerry 8130 Alltel Smartphones and Kit car Bluetooth from Nissan

Help! New Nissan Altima with handsfree Kit.  I am able to pair without problem, to make and receive calls without a hitch.  The directory downloaded with ease.  The problem is when I use the phone with the car kit after I get out of the car, the phone hangs, keys do not respond and I have to do a battery pull to reset the phone.  No problem until I use the phone in the car (with bluetooth kit).  Any help or suggestions are appreciated.  I have the latest OS (4.5.0.89).

Problem solved: I went to the Alltel store and they should do a manual disconnect the phone before turning off the car, it seems to work since I put the Bluetooth icon ther on the first page of my phone it seems to work fine without having to disconnect manually.  I do not understand why it works now, but it does.

  • Browser blackBerry Bold 9900 Smartphones and messaging problems

HI, I got my new "BOLD" today and unfortunately I already have problems with it.

First of all, I can not open emails, when I try it just makes nothing. I can't answer/front/etc all emails, but I can mark them as read. That's all I can do.

Second, my browser does nothing. When I try to access a Web site there simply nothing - blank screen with the top bar. When I try to look for, it creates a screen address, but then again, white. In addition, the back button is the farm either, I have to click the hang up/switch.

I tried the reboot - with battery power and no change.

That said, everything else seems to work, bbm, facebook and twitter apps. Although I had problems with bbm forcing me to re - add contacts. I don't know if I somehow screwed up my bb user sync or what. Everything seems a little promblematic.

On top the issues mentioned previously, I discovered another error. Trying to access help on my phone, I get a read error message:

Unavailable shared webkit instance: could not start UMP: executable (9) not found

If this same error plays a role in previous issues, I don't know, but anyway I was not able to find a solution online and a few people have mentioned similar problems elsewhere. I'll report tomorrow after that I visited Vodafone.

Hmmm... Well, they could be related. With that, I'll change my recommendation and first of all, before we go see them, advise you to do a full reload of operating system. Something maybe corrupted in your installation of OS, and a clean reload often is the way to address them.

From a PC, you can install any compatible OS package (for example, for your BB model exact number) of a BB via this procedure:

Note Although written to "recharge" and the storm, it can be used to upgrade, downgrade or recharge any BB device model - depends on the operating system package you download and install on your PC. You can even use a different OS package carriers simply insert, between steps 1 and 2, the deletion, on your PC, a file named PROVIDER. XML. remember that you remove from your PC, no matter what other packages devices OS BB as having more than one installed on the PC can cause conflicts with this procedure.

If you are on a MAC, you are limited to only your sanctioned carriers OS packages... but can still use any level they currently have to sanction. See this procedure:

Once you do all this, do not forget and the HRT, Service and pull batt restart steps from above.

Which is downloadable for all networks?

Yes, if delete you the vendor.xml file.

directions for those who have not.

Your carier may ask you to go back to their version before give you a guarantee or support claim.

But if you llike to play, then have some fun.

I had some problems with OS 6 in the past. So to make it work every time. I use loader.exe to install the new OS with these directions instead of Desktop Manager. YMMV.

    Manual device OS upgrade instructions:

    1. start by searching for your operator and the system operating file that you want to use.

    http://NA.BlackBerry.com/eng/support/downloads/download_sites.jsp

or use the link on the first post.

    2. make a backup of your device first, using Desktop Manager > backup. Close at the end Office Manager and disconnect it from BlackBerry.

    3. download the OS files to the PC then install on the PC by running (double click) the downloaded file.

    4. go into c:\program files Research in motion\apploader and delete the file named "vendor.xml."

    5. This step may not be necessary, use BBSAK from BBSAK.org and wipe the device (after doing a full backup), then after you get the 507 error (no OS installed) on your device.

6 remove the internet connection for PC and reboot. (this is necessary to stop referencing the file vedor.xml)

    7. plug the BlackBerry and double-click on "Loader.exe." It is located in the same place as the above vendor.xml file was in.

    8. restoration of applications, settings, etc. from a backup.

Take advantage of the new operating system.

  • BlackBerry 8900 new Smartphones and no icon for tech sup approx. cards TMO can't understand it... Help

    Hello

Just yesterday received the ph. I'm new to BB, but not new tech stuff.

Have had tmo tech support on the ph of a few times already.

From my understanding, I should have a map on the ph app. Can't find it where tmo tech support says that this is supposed to be.

And what about the gps function? He rests or do I have to have a separate gps receiver?

confusion about it right now, said different things and nothing is what is supposed to be looks like.

    Appreciate any help!
    /

    Nope.

our BB comes with its own map. the only thing is that you don't

the chance to see all these features, once you are addicted to the BIS thing.

Once that your BIS activation takes place - then

    (1) e-mail configuration will come in the setuo folder

    (2) you will get the card request

    (3) in your folder of instant Messenger color you MSN & Google talk icon

    and so on...

all of these features you will not be able to see until time BIS is not enabled.

    you don't have to install

the only thing I installed after my activation BIS was facebook application.

  • BES blackBerry to keep smartphones and BIS, under separate cover

I have two questions, but I posted it separately in order to clean the threads... It is the second question.

I use BES to get work e-mail (Exchange). The courier will in the "Messages" folder

I also have a few personal email accounts, say one for Yahoo. So I created a BIS account to my Yahoo mail. Mail from this account will in BOTH the "@yahoo" folder and the "Messages" folder

I don't mind having all the BIS email set, but is it possible to have the separate BES mail? You know what they say about mix business with pleasure... Well, me neither. But it's probably not good.

    Ideas?

  • BlackBerry Torch unlocked smartphone and non - AT & T carrier

    If I buy a Torch unlocked from E - bay, can I use a non-US carrier / non - AT & T?

I called my provider's customer service and they told me THAT RIM would lock the phone if it detects that it wasn't with an approved carrier.  (I smell BS... but I wanted to be sure).

No, Rim did not close it again. One thing to keep in mind, however, is that with it being a phone that is not supported by your operator, some services may not function properly (especially due to the fact that do not have the appropriate service books). Voice and SMS shouldn't have problems.

  • With the help of Photoshop CS6 on Yosemite with a Cintiqt and get crashes when I go to save. A way to solve this problem? Only the updates seem to come from CC and I am the last of people loading discs.

Well, my last computer was destroyed when the son of a friend seeps water so I am rocking a brand new Macbook Pro. Unfortunately, this means that I have to use Yosemite. I am a cartoonist and I draw in Photoshop using a Cintiq. I indeed get bugs like not being able to use some keyboard shortcuts, or by using the zoom or the lasso. But the important thing is that Photoshop crashes when I go to save the work for the first time. No idea how to solve this problem?

Install the MacOS 10.10.1 update to fix the crash bugs generalized in the open and save dialog boxes.

And make sure you have the plugin WhiteWindowWorkaround installed in CS6 (no not necessary in 2014 CC) to work around some of the well-known MacOS issues.

  • Locked blackBerry Curve 8520 Smartphones and can't find the mute button to unlock

Hello.  I have a BB Curve 8520.  I was looking for just the page options and then I think I clicked on the speed dial option.  The keyguard option has 'a' and I clicked it and it locked the keyboard.  I didn't realize there was a lock for my keyboard (and had been in charge of looking for one).  However, I can't get it unlocked.  When I press the menu button, it appears that the keyboard is locked.  Press the button Mute to unlock. »

However, I don't know where is the Mute button, nor can I get it to unlock.

My theme is precision zen (I think) if that makes a difference.

Does anyone know how can I unlock my keyboard?  And then how to lock successfully in the future?  I guess I don't understand the aspect of the phone speed dial.

    Thanks for any help!

Never mind.  I used the tutorial to find the button mute.
