Yes, if delete you the vendor.xml file.

directions for those who have not.

Your carier may ask you to go back to their version before give you a guarantee or support claim.

But if you llike to play, then have some fun.

I had some problems with OS 6 in the past. So to make it work every time. I use loader.exe to install the new OS with these directions instead of Desktop Manager. YMMV.

Manual device OS upgrade instructions:

1. start by searching for your operator and the system operating file that you want to use.

http://NA.BlackBerry.com/eng/support/downloads/download_sites.jsp

or use the link on the first post.

2. make a backup of your device first, using Desktop Manager > backup. Close at the end Office Manager and disconnect it from BlackBerry.

3. download the OS files to the PC then install on the PC by running (double click) the downloaded file.

4. go into c:\program files Research in motion\apploader and delete the file named "vendor.xml."

5. This step may not be necessary, use BBSAK from BBSAK.org and wipe the device (after doing a full backup), then after you get the 507 error (no OS installed) on your device.

6 remove the internet connection for PC and reboot. (this is necessary to stop referencing the file vedor.xml)

7. plug the BlackBerry and double-click on "Loader.exe." It is located in the same place as the above vendor.xml file was in.

8. restoration of applications, settings, etc. from a backup.

Take advantage of the new operating system.

  • BlackBerry OS from Smartphones to the "educational" model updates

I work with a BB 9530 labeled "EDUCATIONAL CLASSROOM USE ONLY." So it is not a carrier it's just material.

Now his stock running BB OS version 4.7 and I want to get to 5.0. However, given the update process it seems you need to find a carrier that supports the BB OS 5.0, i.e. it is not enough that it is a 9530...

Is there a way I can update my educational model 9530 BB to BB OS 5.0, because it has no support?

Try to do this then. Download a program called BBSAK from http://bbsak.org/ and install it on your computer.

Make sure that your phone data has been backed up before continuing.

Open BBSAK and enter your password when promped. If you do not have a password, and then click Ok. Click on the "Wipe Device" button on the first screen. Note that this will wipe all data and applications from your device, including the operating system. Once the wipe is complete, and your device displays an error 507 on the screen, click "Load OS" on BBSAK. This will load the loader.exe file and make sure that the vendor.xml file and all backups have been removed correctly.

Then you should be able to go forward with the loading of the OS without any problem.

  • BlackBerry Curve 8520 smartphones stuck on a 'white screen of death '.

    Hello world

I have a Blackberry Curve 8520. Yesterday, he got stuck on a white screen, with a little black clock in the middle (the kind you see when you're waiting for a page to load in the browser).

Even if I turn off my phone, take the battery or put it on charge, this "white screen of death" I read he is described by other people online, won't go away!

If anyone can help, I would really appreciate it. Thank you.

    Ok.

If your BlackBerry is turned off the power with a black or white screen, follow the instructions below. The only indication of life may be the flashing red indicator light in the upper corner. Nothing seems to wake and Desktop Manager does not recognize that a device is connected.

    (1) make sure that you have Blackberry Desktop Manager installed.
    http://NA.BlackBerry.com/eng/services/desktop/
    (2) on your PC, go to start > run and copy and paste the following line exactly (i.e. with quotation marks):

    'c:\program files\common research in motion\apploader\loader.exe' /nojvm

    (3) the Application Loader Wizard will appear - click on "next".
    (4) in the ' connection: ' drop-down menu, you should see "USB - PIN: UNKNOWN". Click on the button "next".
    (5) you should see a list of applications ready to be installed for your Blackberry. Press Next and finish, and that you are well on your way to get your Blackberry to life. Congratulations! Just unplug and let the process finish completely.

NOTE: If you do not display the list of applications mentioned in step 5 and instead to see the message "the Blackberry Desktop Software has no Blackberry Device Software for the device you have connected to the computer. Contact your wireless service provider or system administrator', then you must download the Blackberry operating system for your support and your device.
    http://www.BlackBerryFAQ.com/index.php/BlackBerry_Operating_System_Downloads
Just select the appropriate type of carrier and network, select your Blackberry model from the list and download the latest version. Install this download and follow the steps above again and you should be on the right track.

  • BlackBerry Curve 8520 Smartphone won't turn on all the way, please help!

I have a blackberry curve 8520, I bought last month some time.

I woke up yesterday morning and the balckberry was off and not turn on after that I pushed down on the button. So I loaded for some time, and yet, it wouldn't turn on. Then I took off the charge it, took out the battery, put the battery back and it restarts. The loading bar went well in the end, and my ISP logo appeared. And that's when he stopped loading. All that will show is the logo, it does turn off, unless I get out the battery again.

I had downloaded an application the previous evening, he stopped working out appworld, which could affect it? I tried to connect it to my computer, but it won't let me delete or add applications.

I take out the battery for hours and the SD card. He still wiil only turn on until my ISP logo.

Help, please! Any advice would be helpful.

    Hello world

Last year, I left the company that I worked and they gave me a spare BB "BOLD". They used to have a BED server until 2013, and that's they had a few blackberrys as spare part.
I use this phone so far, but after I did a hard reset I could no longer surf the Internet or add email accounts. It seems that the old BES server that they no longer have blocking somehow my phone.
I tried to contact the guys from my old job and they said that the BES server is not in operation for 2013 and that they can't do something...

Is there a solution for me please? How to break the link to an old Server BES completely and use MY phone as usual?

  • Blackberry Bold 9700 Smartphones from blackBerry backup

    Hello!

I was able to backup data from my phone to the computer before it broke down. (Shows a white screen, I think the problem is the display screen)

    The questions are:

1 is easy to fix the problem?

    2. how to open the data stored on my computer? I need to check some contacts and text messages.

    3. How can I transfer all the data again to a new phone? Should this phone be a Blackberry in order for contacts/messages/photos to be transferred?

Thanks in advance for answering my questions.

    Hello

    ateliermd2003 wrote:

1 is easy to fix the problem?

In my view, that can be firmly answered by a technician with the device by hand. If the problem is not a hardware problem, you might be able to recover it with this:

    • KB27956 How to recover a BlackBerry smartphone from any State

    ateliermd2003 wrote:

    2. how to open the data stored on my computer? I need to check some contacts and text messages.

Natively, the backup file (BBB or RPI, depending on the version of the Desktop software you used) is intended for a single purpose... as the source of restoration to a BlackBerry. But there are several 3rd PC-based 3rd party there apps that can analyze the file backup, some even to do something else with the resulting data. I've never needed, but I heard good things about MagicBerry. Search for a few seconds (for example, on Google) and I'm sure you will find plenty of candidates for your needs.

    ateliermd2003 wrote:

    3. How can I transfer all the data again to a new phone? Should this phone be a Blackberry in order for contacts/messages/photos to be transferred?

To transfer to another BB, simply perform the restore:

    • KB10339 How to use BlackBerry Desktop Software to restore data from a BlackBerry smartphone from a backup file

To transfer to another device, these 3 save game file analysis applications (from your point 2 above) would be your source... you would have to understand what requires this device non - BB and then manipulate the data in the required format and then use whatever of this non - BB device has to load the data on this device.

    Good luck!

  • Missing message from Smartphones blackBerry & Call History

Without changing options, my BB has decided that he does not want to keep any sort of history of email, SMS or calls. I checked the General options and I have it set to keep Messages: Forever.

He does everything first Wednesday night and once again last night. Any ideas? Thank you.

You are facing constraints of memory in your device. Perform the following steps-

    1. Give a soft reset by removing the battery for 30 sec.
    2. Check the amount of memory is free in your device to Options -> status -> free memory. To view all aspects of database go to Option -> status -> click on the Menu button and then select the database size
    3. Remove the less frequently used application. To remove go to Options -> Advanced Options -> Applications -> highlight the application you want to delete-> click Menu , and then select Remove
    4. If you stored your image in the memory of the device to move them to your media card

    Check the below knowledge base-

Call logs and SMS disappear when the BlackBerry smartphone is low on memory

E-mail messages are removed from the BlackBerry device

Almost exactly 2 years from the date that I had my BlackBerry Curve 8300, my emails, call logs and messages from BlackBerry Messenger guard deleted without notice. The BlackBerry then hold until I have the battery and I connect again. Can anyone help me idetify the problem and how can I solve this problem?
