Upgrade HP Slimline s5120f PSU

I'm looking for upgrade my power supply to run an ATI Radeon 5570 on my slimline. I currently have a 220W PSU, I found a power supply that must adjust to newegg.com.

It is 80 + Bronze, I've heard it is great quality and his 350W. I think that this will power the Radeon 5570 (I'm waiting for what you think.)

Here's the site (I plead for a quick response, the sale ends tonight for her)

http://www.Newegg.com/product/product.aspx?item=N82E16817338064

I checked the other power supplies for my companys cheap system and dimensions are almost the same.

The Cheap PSU - 6.88 in. in length, 2.56 in. high, 3.35 in. wide.

The other power supply - 7 in. long, 2.5 in. high, 3.4 in. wide.

So not even a half inch long and wide do you think it'll hold in my case?

I count on the dimensions of this cheap food for my PC so I can not currently measure the inside of the PC (it's guaranteed to fit my computer according to the site)

Thank you

Mike

Edit:

I almost forgot to ask it our the 5570 sage amp?

+ 3.3V@15A, + 5V@15A, + 12V1@11A, + 12V2@11A,[email protected],[email protected], [email protected]

I'm not good at reading that since I'm a noobie serious when it comes to jobs.

* Else * Radeon HD 5570 - 24A and a minimum of 350W PSU

Edit 2

And finally, do I need to get more cables for her? I heard to get a micro-ATX or something like that?

The PSU on Newegg

Output connectors includes 24 (20 + 4) pin, P4 - 12V 4 pin, 15-pin SATA II, Molex 4 pin and FDD 4-pin.

Thanks for your reply old_geekster

I know that it requires 400W but I've seen people with a PC similar to mine works perfectly on a 250W power supply (although I certainly wouldn't). I will go to 350W PSU.  I know that this is the case.  However, HP uses video cards specially made to their specifications.  Because of these changes, they are able to run on less power.  That's why when you buy a third party card you must follow the manufacturer's specifications.

But you missed some of my questions in the previous post, I wanted to know if the power supply has been good or cheap poorly made.  I'm not familiar with the PSU manufacturer.  However, it seems to go well.

And if the voltage is sufficient for the Radeon 5570.  The amps required by the card are 24A.  The amps provided by the PSU are 15A.  Therefore, I don't think it would work.

And also that part where I put minimum 350W 24 minimum for the Radeon 5570 was a another site that proved the 5570 was 100% about to burst, and they got that 400W is overstated.  It is not an exaggeration.  The manufacturers never know how the map will be used.  If you have an enthusiast who has a computer with 3 hard drives, 2 CD/DVD readers, etc., the specifications of the card would come into play.

My PC is HP Slimline s5120f, if my PC can run to 220W (or even less) and then adding additional 130W set that will be the extra power, it takes only 50W to power the 5570 so I'm right on the extra watts.

I'll add a few thoughts.  In reality, the Slimline models are not intended to be upgraded.  The size of the species does not have enough air.  It is certainly a major concern.  HEAT is your enemy.  This is why I'm always hesitant to recommend upgrades for one.  I give you my experience here on the forum information.  I did this since 2002.  I've seen several cases where members have attempted to update Slimlines without success.

    Hi Mike,.

    Don't worry me.

Yes, if you upgrade your 320W psuto, you will have more chance to run the 5570.

What you could do is to buy the 5570 first. If you can't get your pc to start or your games keep crashing, then move your power supply.

  • Upgrade graphics card and PSU.

Hi, I'm going to be upgrading from my power supply and graphics card for the p6-2442eahttp://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c03714374.

I narrowed down it to 7790:https://www.aria.co.uk/Products/Components/Graphics+Cards/AMD+Radeon/Radeon+HD+7790/PowerColor+Radeo...

    7850:https://www.aria.co.uk/SuperSpecials/Other+products/XFX+Core+Edition+Radeon+HD+7850+2GB+GDDR5+Graphi...

These cards are compatible with the current motherboard and system bios currently has?

Also what would be a good power upgrade who would work with the computer, I was thinking of http://www.scan.co.uk/products/550w-psu-xfx-core-edition-p1-550s-xxb9-85-eff-80-plus-bronze-sli-cros... but do not know if it works or if there is a less expensive I could get.

Or the other graphics card should work without problem. The HD 7850 should be faster in most of the benchmarks, while the HD 7790 has low energy consumption. XFX P1 - 550 s-XXB9 PRO550W food should be good, or you could consider the Corxair CX500, or CX600.

  • HP Pavilion Slimline s5120f: hard drive

I'm quickly running out of storage on my hard drive and would like to add a hard disk or change the original. After combing through the manual of the product, I'm as lost as ever. It sounds from the manual that this is not an expandable system. However, I believe that I could change the hard disk that is in the present to a larger hard drive. I have a recovery cd and from what I've read everything I have to do is partition the new drive once I have install and re - turn on the computer. I am less close right?

    Mike4418

    Hello;

Let me welcome you on the HP forums!

It's not nearly as simple to do as you think.

You will need to remove the disk, replace the disk and then restore the configuration from the PC to the new drive - and this last step requires the use of media of HP recovery, which is NOT a CD, but instead, a DVD SET, usually 3 for the operating system and a driver CD.

In addition, a restoration in this way begins cool and NONE of the data, settings or applications residing on your machine now would be copied to the new drive.

Let's tackle the first elements-the removal and replacement of the drive.  It's the upgrade and Service of Guide for your PC: http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c01765809

Information on removing and replacing the hard drive begins on page 17. As you can see, there are a LOT of work involved.

As to restore the configuration of the PC, there is an easier way which is what you have - and which is 'cloning' the reader in a new, larger, by car.

What I recommend is the following:
    (1) download and install Macrium reflect (MR)
    (2) connect the new drive to the computer using a USB car adapter
    (3) follow the instructions in this link: http://knowledgebase.macrium.com/display/KNOW/Cloning+a+disk
    (4) shut down the PC when done
    (5) Exchange the disks and reboot the PC.

You should boot from the new drive with no problems.

    Good luck

  • Upgrading the video card / PSU

Hello everyone, I've been researching for the past week or so, including on my original PC side and take a look. I wanted to update my graphics card for an upcoming game, the map I was looking at was the Asus Radeon 6950 2 GB. After watching some info on the map, I learned that it is HUGE and would not fit in my PC. I was looking at the new card is not as good is the HIS Radeon HD 5770 (JuniperXT) 1 GB. and for that I would need a new PSU and watched a Corsair Builder Series CX500.

So my question is, do you think these two would fit inside my case HP pavilions? The series p6706f. Any help with this would be much appreciated. Thank you.

  • Can I put the Pavilion Slimline 180 Watt power supply to a 300 Watt PSU

    Of course, you can!

Here is an informational videoabout the possibilities of upgrading your slimline WHAT PSU found on YouTube.  A comparison of three power supplies, including the owner HP PSU and a (two video and CPU) stress test and comparison of noise is shown during the video.

Be aware that some, but not all, of the PSU, upgrades require a simple and light your PSU slimline support change. Change depends on the power supply model chosen for the upgrade.

Purchase an adaptor molex as HP UPE is necessary for the Slimlines using a power supply with the format owners microfit ATX 24 pin, as well as the standard for the HTPC power supply ATX 20 pin format.

Upgrade your power supply at a higher power will not damage your motherboard. A power supply will provide only so much power that is required of him by the mother and peripheral card up to the nominal power of the installed PSU.

It is for those who wondered how to work around the limitation of the low power 180 Watt power supply that most Pavilion Slimline PCs come with the Assembly. With a power SUPPLY improved, more memory and a graphics card discrete, including support (it is a requirement) your Slimline can be your gaming PC.

Selecting a graphics card is another topic. Not all graphics cards can hold in the case of a slimline. It takes a low profile video card. They are available for purchase online.

    Kind regards

  • Pavilion p7-1414: upgrade graphics card

    http://h30434.www3.HP.com/T5/desktop-hardware-and-upgrade-questions/P7-1414-and-GTX-750-TI-SC-proble...

As you can see in this thread, my computer will get full performance GTX 750ti due to my PCI ports.  So even if I upgrade my 500 Watt PSU, I always get a maximum return of 750 GTX ti. So in order to get maximum performance, what I have to get a new motherboard supporting the 750 GTX PCI slots ti?

    Greetings,

Your PC meets the requirements of minimum 300 Watt power supply.

Your PC has the UEFI BIOS necessary for the performance of the 750Ti. Your BIOS version 8.xx supports UEFI graphics cards.

Your PC has a PCIe x 16 slot 2.0. The 750Ti will take place in a 2.0 slot, but at a slightly lower rate. It is not as slow as you think. A 3.0 card works fine in a 2.0 slot.

The 750 will fit in your case, as evidenced by the physical installation of the card described in the link to the other thread user in your message.

No PIN six additional or power connections 8 pins are required to run the 750Ti.

I run a GTX 970 in a 2.0 slot and it works fine.

You need to enter the BIOS (Setup) to disable secure boot and select start inherited before installing the 750 into the slot. You must also uninstall the current graphics drivers before installing the new graphics card. You need to return to the graphics drivers generic windows before installing the 750Ti GTX.

    See you soon!

No, the GTX 950 requires UEFI in the motherboard instead of a standard BIOS.  HP didn't start using UEFI until mid-October 2012.  There is no way to update the motherboard in the UEFI.  Latest video cards do not for UEFI were the GTX 660/670.  I suggest that you choose a manufacturer and contact their Technical Support to help them choose the best card for your system.

You will also need to upgrade the power supply (PSU).  It is only 300W.  Most newer cards require at least 400W to work properly.  Although status map specifications at least 300 w, members reported that they had at least to 400W.

Here are the system requirements for ARK: survival has evolved:

    http://www.game-debate.com/games/index.php?g_id=23214 & Game = Ark: % 20Survival % 20Evolved

It is clear from your processor and memory are fine.  I suggest that you upgrade to at least a 750Ti GTXvideo card.  Read the reviews to see what users have to say about it.

You may need to upgrade the power supply (PSU), also.  The EVGA 750Ti said it will work with a power supply with 300W.  However, most of the members have reported needing at least 400W.  If you replace the power supply, I love the Corsair products.  A modular power supply is best for medium-sized business.  It allows you to use only the cables than absolutely necessary.  I recommend at least 500W.  This will give you a high power for the maximum level of use.

A final element that will make a major difference is an SSD.  I love Samsung SSD.  They seem to move better without the need to change the BIOS settings.  The only need is to make sure that the BIOS is set to AHCI.  The DSS will not work if it is not setup in this way.

  • Upgrade gpu on motherboard Angelica 2 problems

    Model: HP-h8-1414

    OS: Windows 8

    GPU: gtx 640 or 660

Hello. I recently purchased this machine and upgraded to a 750w PSU and bought a 640 GPU gtx to upgrade. I also have a gtx 660. Whenever I try to install one of these cards, the machine starts booting and then stops, power light flashes yellow and I heard 6 beeps. The reinstallation of the 640 several dozen times, I finally got to start, but without any screen until Windows 8 logo appears. Two nights ago, I tried to install the 660 and could never go beyond the sound stage. Now, I can't even the 640 to start. Sounds right. Anything other than sound signals. Any advice?

What brand is the gtx, 640 and 660 GTX?

Try going to the manufacturer's web support to see if they have a VBIOS update for your video card that allows Windows 8 support.

The problem you see is likely to be linked to the new secure boot environment. A member of HP's Expert said that EVGA VBIOS updates available on request.

You might consider readingthis article from HP on the subject.

  • The upgrade for the games

    Hello

I'm looking to upgrade my PC for better quality all in game. Everything works fine but I can't leave my games from the best graphics. IM lost when it comes to graphics cards and everything necessary so I was wondering if someone could point me in the right direction. I have:

    HP Pavilion 500-214

A8-6500 APU with Radeon AMD processor

If any other information is needed I can provide.

Here is a video card that has good reviews.  I suggest you read the reviews to see what users have to say about it.  You need to upgrade the power supply (PSU) If you go with a more powerful card.  The existing PSU is only 300W.  Most newer cards of mid-level require at least 400W to work properly.

    All components should be fine.

Have you had a reason for not being able to level and by whom?

I know of no reason why you can't upgrade the power supply (PSU).  In fact, I recommend several hundreds of them over the past years.  I love OCZ and Corsair.  They will provide your system clean and stable food.  They are passionate about quality with a reasonable price.  I suggest at least 600W.  This will give you possible shared future updates.  You must measure the existing PSU and compare the measurements to the one you choose.  Read the customer reviews of the two in the links I provided to see what users have to say about them.

    Indy76, welcome to the forum.

The processor is good.  I do not recommend change.  You can add more memory.  This is recommended by Crucial memory memory .  In addition, if you want to increase the speed, a new SSD better.  The essential link, he recommends SSD.  The MX200, 250 GB, SSD for $99 would be very good.  There is a guide for upgrading to a 2.5 "SSD in to the lower left corner of the page.  You would need an adapter to install a 2.5 SSD "in a 3.5 drive Bay".  If Crucial recommends they guarantee that it will work.

If you upgrade the video card, you will also need to upgrade the power supply (PSU).  The most recent video cards require UEFI in the motherboard instead of a standard BIOS.  HP didn't start using UEFI until mid-October 2012.  The last series of video cards that does not need UEFI was the GT of the 640.  If you like the card, I recommend that you contact EVGA Tech Support (1-800-880-3842) in order to ensure that it will work on your computer.

I love Of the PSU from Corsair.  I recommend at least 500W.  It would give you some excess power for maximum use.  The one in the link is modular.  It allows you to use only the necessary cables for a better air circulation.
