Upgrade memory on Satellite M30 344

Hello
I upgraded my memory from 2 x 256 MB to 2 x 512 MB, but nothing works. I bought the ram modules compatible to pa3312u - 1 m 151.
This system does not start, nothing happens. After reinstalling the old module, the system boots normally.
What can I do?

Hello

If the unit doesn't start correctly it is probably because the new modules are not compatible with this device.
According to the specification you need PC2100 module of RAM of 512 MB (PA3164U - 1 M 51). Please bring your back and buy PA3164U - 1 M 51. Those who are tested and they should work fine.

Good luck!

Thank you very much for your help!

    Hello

The replacement of internal devices is not easy and a little risky.
I wouldn't recommend replacing the cooling module yourself.
You might damage it something on the map and as you know the motherboard is costly parts of the laptop. The manuals are not published because these documents are only for technicians and service partners.
So I think you should ask a service partner to help him because these guys have more experience in these procedures.

I found a site online with the memory modules for Satellite M30 344

  • Satellite M30-344 would not start

    Hello!

    I have a Toshiba Satellite M30-344.
I have use Notepad for several weeks. Now, whenever I start the laptop computer, an error message appears: "0203: failure IDE #2 - you want to start the installation.
Since the last use, I has not changed anything on the configuration.
The only problem there is that I forgot to turn it off, and he continued to run under my table for more than 2 weeks.

Is there a way to fix this?

    Thank you for your help.

    Greetings from the Germany!

    Hello

.. Oh dear, you're not kidding? You forgot to turn it off and kept under a table? Man, that s REALLY weird. :)

And now, to help you with your problem:
IDE #2 means the DVD player, if you have a few options to bring your machine to life, because your DVD player might be defective.
First of all, try to enter the BIOS and do everything by default. If you didn t get results, then remove the disc by unscrewing the screw under the drive and gently pulling the drive out
THA machine. Alternatively, after you unscrewed, gently open the reader and then pulling it by the internal transport of the reader.

In case of doubt, how or afraid to damage something, then bring your machine to a local ASP and they will help you with your problem.
So, I think, your drive is probably faulty.

    Welcome them

P.S.: And try to remember next time when what you keep under your table such as notebooks, animals, humans, gremlins... ;)

    Hello

In my opinion, it's a very bad idea to open Notepad on your own. As you know that books are very sensitive units and if you have no experience you shouldn't do this. I guess that the guarantee is valid for two years and open Notepad, you can void your warranty.

I'm sorry, but I put t see any means cleaning without dismantling because there is no cooling grilles of ventilation and air in the lower corner. On some laptops from Toshiba, the of cold air is visible and the cleaning procedure is much easier.
Before doing something wrong contact partner in your country. It is also possible that there is a problem with the CPU fan and it can be exchanged.

    Good bye

  • Satellite M30 - 344 - USB 2.0 no longer works

    Hello

Since 2004, I have a Satellite M30-344. Some time ago, I changed my system from XP home to XP pro and my USB 2.0 no longer works since. I need to use XP pro because XP home does ' t run some CAD software that I use. Can I do about this problem? I could not find the USB drivers in the Toshiba downloads.

    See you soon,.

    Kat

    I agree with Sascha.
But you also need to install SP2!

This is necessary and important. I put t know if you already use the SP2 or not, but it must be installed on your laptop to get the USB ports work!

  • Upgrade CPU on Satellite M30 106

    Hi people

    Could with help please?

Just got an old Toshiba Satellite M30-106, a few weeks ago and [to be fair] it works OK with xp on it. I bought another 2 gig DDR which brings speed wise difference, but I can move the processor to the Intel® Pentium® M processor 725 1.60 GHz FSB: 400 MHz, 2: 2 MB level cache that s in there earlier?

Can she take a CPU more high if so what s the highest? Would be very graciously tips please.

    Thanks in advance...

At first, I must say that I agree with you that this laptop will work with Windows XP Home edition. At least this laptop model is designed for Windows XP Home edition. ;)

I found some info on the processors on Satellite M30:
+ The Satellite M30 computer is equipped with a processor Intel Banias who +.
    + integrates mathematical co-processor, memory 64 KB of L1 cache and a 1 MB L2 cache.
+ memory. The processor works with one of the following speeds: +.
    + Processor Intel Banias 1.40 GHz (1.35v) / 1.20 GHz (0.85V) +.
    + Processor Intel Banias 1.50 GHz (1.35v) / 1.20 GHz (0.85V) +.
    + Processor Intel Banias 1.60 GHz (1.35v) / 1.20 GHz (0.85V) +.
    + Processor Intel Banias 1.70 GHz (1.35v) / 1.20 GHz (0.85V) +.

Then maybe you can use the fastest processor 1.70 GHz. I don't think you'll see the difference.
Best thing you can do is upgrade RAM to max and optimize Windows XP Home pre-installed, and you will be happy with this good old classic.

  • Upgrade processor for Satellite M30 106

    Hello

I am looking to change the processor in my laptop, but anyone know what is the fastest processor I can use?

    Best regards
    Swarvek

Satellite M30 laptop is very nice. I worked for about 6 months on this laptop. For me the laptop is powerful enough and upgrade the CPU is really not necessary. What you need to do is upgrade of RAM at the level maximum and of course good configuration of the OS.

Can you please tell me what operations run so slow and you want to upgrade CPU on this laptop?

  • Upgrade memory of satellite L20-181

    Hey all

I want to upgrade memory on my Toshiba Satellite L20-181.
Now I have 256 MB and I want to add another stick of memory to 256 MB.
Could you please inform me about the type of memory has this laptop?
On the site it is said:
    Standard system memory: 256 MB
    maximum scalability: 2 048 MB
    technology: DDR2 RAM

    DDR2?
A link with such a memory would be very useful.
Also, anyway to buy memory online?

    Best regards

    Hello

The news that you are quite right. Toshiba has tested this laptop with the memory modules to follow:
    DDR2 400/533 256 MB (PA3389U - 1 M 25)
    512 MB DDR2-400/533 (PA3412U - 1 M 51)

As you can see it's memory module DDR2 and if you use the part (PA.) to the Google number, you will find many online offereor where you can order this tested memory. I recommend buying the original or perhaps module of Kingston. On this way, you will be sure that the new module will be recognized correctly.

    Good luck!

Portable players are always on the CSEL parameters. There are no jumpers to master or slave.
But it true s not all slim drives are compatible with the Satellite M30 laptop.

    I found these compatible discs:

    Drive_ _Cd-RW/DVD-ROM
    * Matu * a * G8CC0001C210

    _DVD-R/RW_
    * Toshiba * SD-R6112

  • Upgrade memory for Satellite L30-134

I have a Satellite L30-134, which seems to work pretty slowly - I think that due to the large amount of photos and music from itunes.

I wonder which is the best way to solve - buy a memory upgrade (no idea how to change memory well) or get an external hard drive?
And if I change the memory I'll lose what is already saved on the laptop?

I agree with Ganz most HARD drive will not improve performance but increase the disk space available HARD, it would be you can store more music and picture on HARD drive ;) files

Upgrade memory also would not provide a performance gain of course performance could be a little better because most of the things would be handled directly in memory and not in time on the HARD drive, but generally it s not really noticeable.

In any case if you want to improve memory, check this:

    http://www.orcalogic.co.UK/ASP/ProdType.asp?ProdType=25737&ft=m&St=3

    You must use DDR2 533 MHz (PC2-4200) 200 - PIN SODIMM

    Hi Ben

Maybe you used the memory modules bad.
As far as I know that you can upgrade memory for max 192 MB
The 64 MB has been installed in an internal memory and cannot be deleted.

    I found these compatible modules:
    PA3003U - 1 M 03 32 MB
    PS3004U - 1 M 06 64 MB
    PS3005U - 1 M 12 128 MB

  • Upgrade memory on Satellite Pro A60

I upgraded a Pro A60 with a memory of 1 GB upwards but the general tab panel /System/ watch still have 192 MB of RAM. This limits me downloading some software of safety of BT Yahoo.

Someone can advise on how I can make the machine to recognize the new RAM or is the 192 MB RAM memory different the new upgrade memory note?

If you use the incompatible RAM module, it is logical that system cannot recognize it properly. I don't know who is the manufacturer of this RAM 1 GB module, but if you want to use a consistent pick up some info on 1024Mo PC2700 (PA3313U-1M1G) or check web page of Kingston.
