Upgrade my GPU? Is this compatible with my motherboard?

Hello, a few years ago I was bought a stock PC Aurora-R3. I want to update my two obsolete GTS 450 and replace them with a 960 GTX, GTX 750 ti, GTX 770 or 760.

I was wondering if it was possible that the compatibility with other graphics cards is very vague in the information of what works and is compatible.

Data sheet:

Model: Aurora R3 046MHW

Processor: Intel Core i7 - 2600 K CPU @ 3.40 GHz, 3401 Mhz

RAM: 8 GB

BIOS: Alienware A06

One of these unique cards should work if you have 875 w power supply, and he's got the good pin leads of power in native mode.

Since it is Aurora-R3 you better get one with a Dual-BIOS switch that supports legacy and UEFI hybrid.

Aurora R3 is perhaps than just EFI (not true uEFI) so he cannot decide that he needs. Save yourself a lot of trouble and get one with a switch on the video card.

Apparently, some recent MSI & Sapphire cards have the switch.

You might have to no-snap and remove plastic card aerial of Aurora video guide if new card out in cases.

I also have it in my notes that someone wrote:

I just wanted to say that the 380 R9 works. But you have to buy a graphics card of the hybrid BIOS as "Sapphire R9 380 Nitro". Sapphire cards are able to pass the legacy BIOS to UEFI BIOS boot. There is a small 'switch' in the corner of the map, which you can use. It works very well without any problems.

  • Pavilion p6-2310ea: radiator is not compatible with the motherboard

I recently bought an AMD A10 5800 k for my PC and the radiator does not match my motherboard; the new radiator has clips and yet my original radiator has screws and it is not possible for me to install the clips.  I read that HP heat sinks are different to the normal heat sinks, can I put in my PC to make it possible for the heat sink to install? Where can I buy a radiator that is compatible with my motherboard?

    Hello

The solution is that the old heatsink supports all the upgrades of the processor that are listed.

Thanks for posting on the forum.

  • RAM is not visible, I have 16 GB installed in the case (4x4Go), but only 8 GB has, even in the BIOS. All the 4 sticks of RAM are the same brand and compatible with my motherboard.

I have 16 GB installed in the case (4x4Go), but only 8 GB has, even in the BIOS.
All the 4 sticks of RAM are the same brand and compatible with my motherboard.
I'm running Windows 7 Home Premium 64 - bit, which limit memory is 16 GB, so this isn't the issue.
    I got a few BSOD - 0 x 00000109 - errors that I work.
I ran memtest86 for a few hours and he scored 4 errors during test cycles 7.
These memtest errors concern the bars invisible RAM or the work those?
Any ideas as to what should I do next?
    See you soon!
    Data sheet:
    Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit
    Intel Core i7-3820 @ 3.6 GHz
    ASUS P9X79
    GeForce GTX 650
    Team elite Dual Channel DDR3 4 GB 1333 Mhz x 4

    Thanks Joel,

I started to individually test RAM when I noticed a quirk in the way they were organized in their locations.
I downloaded the manual for my P9X79 and he confirmed that they were arranged in mirror mode.
I switched two of the sticks to adjacent slots and, Lo and behold, the full 16 GB presented at startup.
So that's one mystery solved at least.
I'll raise the memtest to see if it includes several errors and if so will continue to individually control the RAM sticks.
    Thanks again.

However, before I want to change it, I just want to make sure it works very well.

  • Satellite M70-354 - is compatible with another motherboard?

    Hello guys,.

I need to replace the motherboard for a Toshiba Satellite M70 354 PSM70E.
The card mother inbuild is a K000033860, so it is compatible with any PSM70E mainboard avayable (K000XXXXXX)?

    Thanks for any help
    5urprise

I think so. Satellite M70 comes with two different mothers.
One is with the graphics card Intel for PSM70E models and is second with graphics card ATI for the PSM71E models.

Thus, you can use any PSM70E motherboard and use it for other M70 with PSM70E model number.

  • Has anyone got the upgrade of GPU for H8-1234 with motherboard HP M3970AM HP (Angelica2)?

I improved my diet for a Corsair CX series CX500M 500W ATX 80 Plus Bronze modular power supply 12V successfully and I want to assure you that I have buy a compatible GPU for the motherboard.

If I go to http://www.pc-specs.com/mobo/HP/HP_M3970AM-HP (Angelica2) _ / 2042 and click on compatible GPU it lists AMD and Nvidia cards.

The series of HD AMD goes up to the HD6000 series and does not list any HD 7000 series.

The only Nvidia 600 series which is decent is the GeForce GTX-660-670-680 or 690.

The site also shows (these graphics cards have an appropriate interface to work with and integrate into the HP M3970AM - (Angelica2). Because this motherboard does not have a GPU chip on board, we have also limited GPU integrated only to those which are integrated to die of a CPU.)

Cards GTX listed are all much more expensive than 650 Ti DirectCU OC Boost 1085 MHZ 2 GHz 6.0 GB GDDR5 2xDVI card PCI-E HDMI DP that is not listed or even GTX550 TI, which is not listed

The Amd HD listed series cards are unavailable or more expensive than most of the HD 7000 series.

Has anyone successfully installed a card $ 100 from low to medium priced which is a significant improvement on the hd 7450? If you could please let me know what graphics card you purchaced.

    Thank you

    Gbrown13, welcome to the forum.

The limiting factor for the video card upgrade is the power supply unit (PSU).  It is 300W.  Intermediate level maps latest require at least 400W to work properly.  7450 HD comes with the computer has been designed for HP operate with OEM PSU.  A detail 7450 HD very probably would not work.  In addition, you should limit the length of the video card to no more than 9 ".  This ensures that it fits in the space provided.  The majority of the double cards are 1.5 "wide.  These are normally without any problems.

I hesitate to recommend a video card on the grounds that it will be much better than an existing map.  It is difficult to say that this is the case.  Here is a map which might work for you, with an upgrade of the power supply.  Read the reviews to see what users have to say about it.

  • MacBook Pro 15 "Earlier 2011: is - this compatible with 16 GB of ram?"

I am an owner of a memory of ram i7 processor of Earlier 2011 15 inch Macbook Pro with 4 GB (2x2gb).
    I want to upgrade to 16 GB, 2 x Kingston DDR3 1333 mhz KTA-MB1333 8 GB memory.
The question is: are my motherboard, processor and SO ready to make full use of this ram memory? Or should I go with 2 x 4 GB instead?
Additional advice will be accepted with gratitude. Thank you!

PS: I'm under El Capitan already.

Assuming that you are using this model special, you can improve it up to 16 GB of RAM. Please note that Apple supports only 8 GB of RAM, so apart from that upgrades are made at your own risk.

  • Is it possible to upgrade the GPU in this laptop HP DV7 - 2043cl

I searched on the net, and I'm mixed responses.  I just got a laptop additional thanks to an agreement of craigslist and I was wondering what, if any update I could do for her. I did a little research and if I could upgrade it seems I might be able to put a 5850 in this machine without having to replace anything else.

    Hello

I edited my response, your machine supports only the M96 cards.

    Kind regards.

  • All CPUS with the same type of socket is not compatible with my motherboard?

    I currently have a CPU AMD X 2 220. The socket type is an AM3 (938).

Will be something like this work? http://www.Newegg.ca/product/product.aspx?item=N82E16819103911 or even http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819103887 .

My PSU is only 250W (which I intend to upgrade in any case).

Why I want upgrad my CPU is because as some games (ie. cod: bo) have a minimum requirement of the CPU which mine does not.

    Here are the specifications of your desktop HP Pavilion p6604f and it's N-Alvorix-RS880-formfat (Alvorix) motherboard. According to specifications, your computer can be upgraded to the following processors;

Max TDP: 95W (this is the side of watt max, processors with a higher rating will not work)

NOTEnly Socket AM3 processors are supported with this motherboard.

    AMD Phenom II X 6 Six-Core (core Thuban) 10xxT

    AMD Phenom II X 4 9xx/9xxe/8xx Quad-Core (core Deneb)

    AMD Phenom II X 3 Triple-Core (heart Heka) 7xx/7xxe

AMD Phenom II X 2 5xx (nucleus of Callisto)

    AMD Athlon X 4 6xx/6xxe (undactylopodite)

    AMD Athlon X 3 4xx/4xxe (Rana)

    AMD Athlon X 2 2xx/2xxe (Regor)

1xx AMD Sempron Single Core (core Sargas)

Most of THESE AM3 95W models... THESE AM3 80W models... and THESE AM3 65W models should run on your computer. No need to change the food unless you plan to install a graphics card in class game.

  • WINDOWS 8 IS COMPATIBLE WITH ALL MOTHERBOARDS

    Hello

I use Windows 7 Ultimate and was very disappointed to learn Microsoft hadn't given everything about information Hardware Compatibility mode of return in October 2012 to January 2013 I've seen people try upgrade and wasting earned money when I asked ASUS if the card mother on my computer ASUS P 5 G C 41 - M LX , I learned to upgrade the jury sort that even after buying Windows 8 Pro because I felt beyond my budget, I had to return the product to Microsoft Trainer a good friend asked if I upgrade I said all depends on how I afford to spend around $ 100 only for the Council therefore like www.windows7.com if a www.windows8.com was launched all the material and software required were clearly stated and there was a scoreboard before BUYING which answered all the questiions Would'nt it be Conerned team the useful idea is asked to consider my point of view of budget

    Thank you

If it's a fact why asus he said I need to upgrade Council I have never mind 32 or 64 bit only thing no additional technique isn't that expected also do I need a touch screen or tft screen that I have work will earn 8 pro

ASUS makes the most money and guarantees a happy customer?  You upgrade to Windows 8 on a motherboard where you can use the Windows 7 drivers and all * are * OK or you buy a new motherboard that is definitely supported by them in Windows 8?

Or the other might, but the best bet is to the latter.

Not to over complicate it.  Just based on what I've seen of this conversation, I'm not sure that you will be same as Windows 8 (native).  It would be better with a touch screen (Yes), but it does not require one.  You might even get some third-party applications, and everything could look more like Windows 7.
