Upgrade of El Capitan 10.11.2 to 10.11.3 gets stuck

My El Capitan at level 10.11.2 to 10.11.3 gets stuck in a loop...

The update file is downloaded from the App Store and the iMac will restart and try to install the update, but after a few minutes, I get a message from the system (in my native language: Dutch) which translates something like: . Then the iMac restarts for 10.11.2 and the system asks me when I want to install the update.

I tried this loop 4 times but the result is the same.

Anyone know?

-the solution to this loop?

-where the temporary downloaded update file is, so I can remove it and try a new update?

  • Upgrade to El Capitan in Yosemite

I have a fairly new MacBook Pro running Yosemite. I was going to upgrade to El Capitan, but now he me Sierra offers instead. I don't want to do because of the risk that £500 dollars worth of software (File Maker Pro 11, final draft 8, Office 2011) will stop working.

My office is running El Cap, and applications above all work fine.

In my view, there is the ease of upgrade to El Cap, but he seems to be reserved for people running older versions. Do you think I can upgrade using this path? Or everything will go horribly wrong?

    Thank you

    Hello nancy milano,.

Thanks for this info and choosing the communities Support from Apple. I know how important is able to complete your update to El Capitan at a later date! The good news is that you can simply delete the "install Mac OS X" install app in the Applications folder on your Mac. Then you can open the Mac App Store when you're ready to update and restart the download from the tab updates or searching through the Mac App Store for El Capitan. This is a resource that explains the process of update more:

  • MacBook Pro has started to randomly stop when it is on battery since the upgrade to El Capitan

I have a MacBook Pro (15 inch, early 2011) which works very well on the Mountain Lion for a long time. I finally got round to upgrading to El Capitan last week: directly to 10.11.6. A few days later he just powered down without warning while I was working. He was so very well for a few days, but then made several times in the last 48 hours.

I am moderately sure it happens only when it is on battery (it did not in the past hours 8 while that plugged). Whenever it happens, that there is no warning and the Mac then fine restarts (manually) - Although the clock resets always in 1970 until he can contact an NTP server. One of the curious side effects is that my PostScript fonts were blank on the screen in Excel for a few reboots yesterday but then OK once again!

No hardware has changed. Major software change is only El Capitan and possibly an iStat Menus update.

I have reset PRAM and SMC. I ran the short AHT. I disassembled the machine and clean the fans. they were OK, but the problem seems to occur when the Mac is hot.

Spotlight and Time Machine sometimes seemed to be struggling for the upgrade, and I also saw rpcsvchost with 100% of a core for a while. The machine feels sometimes slow - but for the last 8 hours, it was very good. The only model that I put in place, is that it seems to occur only on battery; It's even happened then that the Dock (etc.) were loading after logging in after an unexpected shutdown.

The other thing common is in the newspapers every time:

    Cause of previous stop:-128

I scanned a number of related posts to aspects of it, but do not look at who blames El Capitan rather than material. Yet, many people reported this kind of problem after the upgrade... Coincidence?

    Any ideas?

    Thank you.

A negative stop code generally indicates a hardware failure. Have the Apple to assess your Mac. The fix may be as simple as a spare battery.

It is a late 2008 MacBook.  It's on 10.5.8.  I did a clean install of 10.6.3 with upgrades to 10.6.8 to give birth to El Capitan.  According to me, that he was working at that time.  Then, I migrated the user of a backup image of the 10.5.8 account. Who could have when it stopped, but I'm not sure.

  • Printing problems since upgrading to El Capitan

Two weeks ago, that I've upgraded to El Capitan. Since then I was able to print from Adobe Acrobat or Microsoft Office programs. I use my Macbook for business purposes, and there is downtime with my work on this issue. This has nothing to do with printer drivers that I can't print to PDF either.

I've used nothing helps Apple telephone support. I went to an Apple genius bar and they could not understand either. They have wiped my phone, and then I went home and restored the time upward from the standby machine. The problem was still there. So I uninstalled Microsoft office (last resort recommended by technician at the genius bar) and reinstalled. The problem is still there, and worse yet the Outlook is freezing. I rang a repairer of random computer company this morning specializing in Macs. They said they couldn't help me because they would only do what I've done. My Macbook Pro is just a few years, and now I'm looking down the barrel of the purchase of a new laptop - all because I upgraded to El Capitan!

Start safe mode and see if the problem persists:

    Restart now ' shift '.

(Wait to take more time to start in this way because it runs a check of directory first. Also give it some time after the start because he runs maintenance routines at the beginning.)

Hi, I upgraded to El Capitan yesterday and all the contacts in my address book Thunderbird disappeared. The AddressBook is completely empty. In addition, he didn't even address on the left hand books, for example "personal address book" etc. My contacts are stored on my computer? If so, where they are located and how can I get back to my address book? I've been adding contacts for a few years. When I compose email, email addresses are auto-fill in the field of composition, so it seems they are still out there? Thank you.

  • Nervous about the upgrade to El Capitan!

Need input, OS X 10.9.5, computer works fine most of the time. Should I upgrade or leave it alone. Don't want to screw up my computer. Read the "reviews" on the App Store and I hesitate. Ned first hand experience.

  • I just upgraded to El Capitan.  Our photos are in both iPhoto and Aperture.  Is it possible to include both libraries in Photos (El Capitan)?

Our photos were in iPhoto and Aperture until the upgrade to El Capitan.  Photo and the opening are now gone.  Is it possible to include both of these libraries in Photos of El Capitan?  (When I added the second library of Photos, the first library disappeared.)

Use PowerPhotos or the library to iCloud to merge; If necessary, launch Photos with Option key button and choose another library.

  • Are older OS is available for download to be able to upgrade to El Capitan?

I'm selling my MacBook Pro for mid-2009 originally shipped with Lion. Years, I bought the discs for Snow Leopard, but they are in my home country (I'm an expat). I will be to reformat the hard drive, but if I reinstall the OS using the original disks of Lion it won't do any good buyer if they want something more recent, such as El Capitan (I upgraded the RAM to 8 GB and 1 TB hard drive.)

I think that Snow Leopard is available for purchase on disc, not for download. There is no official presence of Apple in the developing/third-world country where I live. I don't know if Apple will be available here, how much it would cost, or how long it would take.

Is it possible to buy a download of Lion or Lion MTN. in order to have a basis on which the buyer with their own Apple ID can be upgraded to El Capitan?

The base OS only that they need is Snow Leopard, which is only available on DVD; It is not possible for a pre-2010 Mac Internet Apple system recovery, so they would need to have a physical installation disc where the drive goes down.

It is also not possible to transfer a Lion or Lion of the mountains to them in this way. If you buy a download code for each operating system, you will not be able to a thumbdrive installation of them without make up the code in your Apple ID, preventing him being transferred to them.

  • Calendar dead after upgrade to El Capitan

Upgrade to El Capitan yesterday evening and calendar is now non-functional.

Can not see my ical calendars, can not see the events, can't access preferences (nothing happens when you select it), after adding a subscription (Google Calendar), nothing happens.  Cannot add a new event.

Tried calendar of audit services and untick in my Google accounts.  Tried to delete the bad or obsolete key and CERT in the Keychain Access utility.  I only get a blank calendar and can't do anything.  Don't know if it's related, but I get a ton of console error messages signature:

"22/07/16 3:02:42.889 PM mdworker [8515]: validation failed trying to get information from code signing: error Domain = NSOSStatusErrorDomain Code 67062 ="(null)"UserInfo = {SecCSArchitecture = ppc}.

So happy that I have finally little ball and upgraded to the wonderful El Capitan.  Not.

Try to run the update from the drop-down list. It installs all the previous updates plus a new one, which can replace all files that may have damaged.
