Upgrade of the s3535.uk Slimline Pavilion for W7. I did, it was a mistake?

Hi, I have a Slimline Pavilion s3535.uk which I just upgraded to W7. I looked carefully through all the advice of MS and HP and all said it was OK, some drivers were incompatible. MS Upgrade Advisor gave a tick. I bought W7 and method. This worked pretty well with a standard (not customized) upgrade, but then all the trouble started. It works and when it works it is really very good, much faster than Vista, BUT I keep getting blue screens. I can't run in safe mode at all. I updated the drivers as much as I can (a little HP say that my machine is unable to support the new drivers!). I don't have any strange equipment attached and you have not installed new hardware since the upgrade. I have displayed on the MS community pages, but get very little response from them. I'm starting to wonder if I should go back to Vista. Can anyone help?

That's what I'd do. You should not get accidents with this PC and W7.

After I installed Windows 7 (if it didn't include SP1), and then install SP1 before you do anything else. Then load your drivers.

The stand-alone update to SP1 can be found on the link below and you can burn it to a DVD.  Select the fist DVD ISO.

http://www.Microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?ID=5842

As long as you are comfortable with support of things to the top and re install later, I'm pretty confident that a new installation will work just fine - unless there is some faulty hardware problems that none of us don't know.

If the PC was working fine before you upgrade, then it should work fine after a custom installed.

If you have problems to find drivers, please post back and we'll be happy to help you.

  • The upgrade of the internal SATA HARD drive for HP Pavilion dm4

    Hello

I have the HP dm4 - 1150 bought ea I think in December 2004.  It has intel core i5 and 500 GB of HARD drive.

It works very well.  I ben hae wanting to upgrade the HARD disk but hard drives SATA 2.5 inches for this ability were not available.

drives internal SATA 2.5-inch 2 TB for laptops are now available.  The OEM version seems to be available for about £80 in the United Kingdom.  Has anyone successfully updated your laptop HARD drive?  Does anyone know if I buy and install the new 2 TB SATA HDD if it works.  If not why?

Would appreciate a response from anyone who has tried this on dm4 or similar computers HP laptop

    Thank you

If it's the original drive it is SATA-II as SATA-III was not then invented. Confirmed here:

    http://www.wdc.com/wdproducts/library/SpecSheet/Eng/2879-701275.PDF

You can replace it with a SATA-III disc without any problems. They are perfectly backwards compatible. Your motherboard is a SATA-II at best and could even be SATA - I have but I do not.

I avoid the biggest current disks because drive manufacturers must invent new technological tricks to squeeze more and more zeros and ones in the same size box and it takes time to work on the kinks. Right now, 1 TB is the sweet spot for the readers of the laptop and 2 TB or 3 for desktop drives. Stay with a 1 TB drive 7200 rpm or still a hybrid drive of 1 TB would not a bit of extra money.

  • HP Pavilion G6: upgrade of the G6 from HP pavilion.

Hi all. I was wondering what components I could upgrade in my 6 GB of ram, 1.7 Ghz APU Pavilion G6. I need to upgrade my proccessor running at 90% only at the start and gave zero factory it but no difference in performance. Can anyone help?

    G6-2241sa

As suspects, it is a processor AMD E2. Here is the Service Manual:

    Manual

It's the motherboard you have and it IS one where the processor and the motherboard are one piece.

For use only with models of computers with processors AMD E2-1800 and Windows 8 Standard 697230-501

The class E2 of processors is very low, as you have noticed. They are more like a netbook or Tablet processor rather than something that you want to use for the calculation of the grave. You could help the situation by increasing the memory of 8 GB (maximum) to remove the module from 2 gig you have and its replacement by a 4 GB. You could also install an SSD. You would spend about $150 between these two updates and I'm not sure it's worth. You will notice an improvement however but from memory and faster storage cannot completely lift the load from the central unit that must be part of the job and yours is just not up to the task.

Your laptop computer case fit a half-bridge AMD or Intel motherboard but you would have to buy the motherboard and processor as well and that the cost will be well over $150 and are approaching the cost of a new phone.

  • Upgrade to the readers of X 1400 for WinXP for an E1705

Currently, drivers for the E1705 with a X 1400 card are very old. They are 7/2006. If you use the SP3 for XP, the rotation is disabled for this old version. I also have sporadic flickering problems, which is a hardware driver not question. I had this problem before and I got the latest ATI driver that fixed forward, but now these drivers do not like current MS for XP, and a new driver would correct this.

Dell never goes to level these old drivers, because they are among manufacturers that says ATI do not distribute drivers for laptops, and yet they do not upgrade them.

Does anyone know of another solution to upgrade these drivers?

    Thank you.

  • I'm trying to upgrade to the latest version of Firefox for Mac, but when I drag the icon in my applications folder, a message says that I don't have the necessary permissions to install the upgrade. How can I make this? Thank you!

    More to tell you.

If he has problems with the update or the permissions then simpler is to download the full version and trash the version currently installed to do a clean install of the new version.

Download a new copy of the Firefox program and save the file on the desktop DMG

    • Trash the present application Firefox to do a clean (re-) install
    • Install the new version you downloaded

Your profile data is stored in the Firefox profile folder, so you will not lose your bookmarks and other personal data.

  • Upgrade of the 5 why OS Smartphones blackBerry only for subscribers of BIS?

I have the blackberry curve 8520. OS worm 4.6.something

I want to know why the upgrade of the OS 5 is only for subscribers of BIS and not common blackberry users?

I mean that we also paid the price for the phone and we want also that most of the bb. Considering blackberry that BIS subscribers clients alone, then why sell the phones to other institutions.

Blackberry wants to decrease the number of bb fans and users, it is a good step to limit the OS upgrade BIS only users if what is the point of limitation of the BIS only update?

They do not want to watch blackberries and work cool, at least compared to the other giants of the cellphone.

    I'm not agree,

    1. I don't have to pay for more recent versions of my firmware, pay to fix what they screwed up in the first place, I did not phone up to now pay for something like this (even apple gives away freely).

    2. very expensive, I'M NOT paying 9 euro + VAT for the transfer of 5 MB. At those prices, they might as well steal your money from your pocket.

  • «the cpu fan works not.» Check the fan connections and call for service. »

I was wondering if a failure of different from 'CPU fan has failed... system in a few seconds will stop. " I have an office of DX - 2000 P4 under XP SP3 that I just changed the motherboard and CPU fan on. All the fans are running at about the same speed. (P/S, chassis and CPU). Not very fast but cannot see the fins. Computer sat for several years. I was wondering what is the real test and how the fan speed is controlled. I suppose that temperature sensors built into the cpu, somehow, there must be a variable voltage applied to the fans to change their speed and/or a measuring device to see what is their RPM. This must be controlled by the BIOS as is any pass/fail test. My next step is to replace the old fan and see what happens. I have a new p/s to install should be here today. Actually used, but cleaned up and tested. Economy of cleanup. Not sure if my older diet could be the cause of the issue with low Volt.

If the fan is slower than the factory fan, you will have this problem.

  • The upgrade of the power supply for a HP Pavilion 500-054

    Hey people,

I'm changing the 500-054 flag so that it can play a few games, not a hardcore gamer, just want to be able to play the occasional game. I want to get a lower end external video card, but this requires a power supply greater than 300. I am looking for a new power supply for my computer, but I couldn't find one for the 500-074. Are the ones that will work for my computer or I am a hopeless case?

    Thank you

A standard ATX power supply will work. Please look at the Corsair CX430, CX500, CX600, or their variations of modular cables for your needs.

  • upgrading ram in the laptop of HP Pavilion g6t - 1B 00 CTO

is it possible to upgrade my ram from 4 GB to 8 GB of ram in the laptop of HP Pavilion g6t - 1B 00 CTO?

    Hey ranjith1992,

The maximum amount of RAM supported your model is 8GBs. The unit has 2 DIMM slots, so you need to get the memory 2 x 4 GB DDR3 modules. Take a look inside the machine to see how fast the 2 GB that you are there (for example, 1066 MHz) and buy 4 GB modules that match.

Here are some photos/instructions to help you get started: http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c02829479.pdf

Page 48 lists the tested/compatible memory modules and shows you how even to yourself! Additionally, make sure that you are using a 64-bit operating system in order to fully use the 8GBs - a 32 bit OS will see 4GBs.
