Upgrade of TMS or MST TMSPE Prime - TMS 13.2 TMSPE 1.0

We have TMS 13.2 and TMSPE 1.0 all work fine. I want to upgrade to 14.3.2 and TMSPE 1.1 but TMSPE 1.1 requires 14.2 and 14.2 TMSPE 1.1 so how can I do to make the upgrade - I can't find any documentation that addresses this clearly. I did not mind from 13.2 to 14.2 updated TMSPE to 1.1, then upgrade to 14.3.2 - just want to be sure that it works.

As long as nobody don't tent for use at the time wherever you're upgrading, it shouldn't matter too much order in which do you.  Note: the TMS version required by TMSPE is the minimum version required for the operation, so you can use it with a higher numbered version.

I updated level TMS directly to 14.3.2, then do TMSPE to 1.1.

Note: Some process may be slightly different depending on which version of the software you use on your VCSes.  There are two deployment of TMSPE guides, one for the old versions and the other for X8.1.

Anyone else having this problem? If I can't resolve it, then I have no choice to the downgrading to 14.4 :( (It is a machine virtual is only a question of the application of the snapshot last chance).

Edit: I managed to create a workaround solution connecting sources of the telephone book for the "all systems: telephone directory, which means that support staff will be at least able to find entries as long as they have an idea of what to look for." Far from ideal if. :(

HM... I can reproduce the problem in 14.5. It looks like a side effect not intentional to some other things we were doing. I will study more.

    Hi outhere.

With 'Software Manager' in article 13.2 of TMS, it seems to be a problem. Download S42700x7_1_0.tar.gz does not work.

    Is there a known problem?

How can I upgrade without TMS VCS?

You can upgrade the VCS directly by logging into the web page of VCS and will interview--> update and download the new file.

  • Upgradeing TMS using TMSPE

What is the process of upgrading of TMS which currently uses the TMSPE?  I know with TMS Agent Legacy, you had to Devil replication with VCS, but I'm not familiar with TMSPE at the moment and how to upgrade of MSDS.

Simply upgrade the tms regularly according to the documentation. No need to turn off the mark.

  • Upgrade behind firewall settings against TMS

    Hello

We have hundreds of endpoints at home on the Internet. (E20, 1700MXP, EX etc.). All are now in need of a software upgrade.

I know TMS connection could not be established for the endpoints behind the firewall.

Thus, we have planned for the upgrade manually.

But I still want to check, is it a way automate this either through the software upgrade option MSDS or any other option.

    Any practical solution is appreciated.

    Best regards / / Rio

From what I remember, because TMS does not have direct access to the endpoints to trigger the upgrade.  TMS tells endpoints at the start when they contact TMS if they have an update on hold, indicating then endpoints to start to download the update and install it.  If endpoints are configured in the connection settings in MSD to be behind the firewall, that TMS won't know if you are planning of these units go through a software update, it will delay the schedule until it receives feedback from start from the endpoint to initiate the upgrade process.

  • Upgrade to Cisco TMS (backup meetings)

    Hello

I'm upgrading from TMS of 14.1 to 14.5. Couple of questions.

    * The admin guide it tells you to back up the SQL database using SQL backup components

    https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms187048%28v=sql.105%29.aspx.

    This backup the current meetings?

    * Is this the effect of upgrading the current meetings? If Yes is it possible to backup / restore the current meetings supported. There are several re-current meetings of the organization therefore needs to know if these will be impactd

    Thank you

    MOR Ndiaye

tmsng db contains all meetings scheduled, which was planned until you tell people don't not to plan more due to the upgrade. ;)

I run sql server on virtual machines and tms and just take a snapshot of the two just before upgrading. Have had no problems with upgrades for which is scheduled meetings.

  • Upgrade TMS from 14.5 to 15

    Hi all

Do we need to run scripts (such as mensioned in the release notes for TMS 14.6.X) or any other manipulation of data or controls to be performed on the TMSNG database before the upgrade of TMS version 14.5 to TMS version 15.0) for deployment on a large scale of MSDS.

Intend to upgrade to version 15.0 of Cisco TelePresence Management Suite.

Endpoints in TMS lol = approximately 4700

    DB size 50000 MB

I recently made this upgrade (from 14.5.0 15.0).  Any additional scripts should be executed before the upgrade.

Only thing to note is the CSCuv40676bug.  You may need to purge some data from your database and turn off the automatic update of the controls manually.

  • 13.2.2 to 14.5.0 TMS upgrade path

    Hello

I'm looking to make an upgrade to TMS 13.2.2 we currently have running on an old box of Windows 2003 R2.

We are looking to set up a new server using 2012 R2 as the operating system.

    The environment:

    Windows 2003 R2

SQL Express 2005 w/DB hosted locally

    13.2.2 TMS

    TMSXE (on another server) 3.0.2

    The methodology of Migration:

Migrate the existing database to a SQL server hosted and test all the features

    If it is successful then

    • Remove the old server from domain/network
    • Rename the new server the same as
    • Install the TMS 14.3.0 on the new connection to the existing database server, hosted on the external SQL Server
    • Run the time zone update tool that comes in 14.3.0
    • Update the 14.3.0 existing install 14.5.0

This methodology seems as if it was the right way to go? There are fundamental flaws, that I don't see here?

I did this upgrade path in the laboratory successfully using a copy of our existing database, I have no alternative endpoints or vcs-control etc. to connect to the lab to prove everything works after upgrade.

I look forward to your responses.

    Thank you

    Alex

    Hello Alex.

You should consider upgrading to TMS 14.6, which is the most recent version.  14.6 TMS notes.

TMS 14.5 supports only Windows Server 2012, not 2012 R2, but 14.6 done TMS.  Also, if you are not already the case, consider using SQL Server 2012 or 2008 R2 64 bit, to be compatible with future versions of TMS.

The steps that you listed sounds good, just check on that TMS installation guides for supported versions of WIndows and SQL details, as well as all the required components.

  • TMS directory - contacts AD

I've recently upgraded to 14.1 and tmspe. During the upgrade, I've migrated my entries inherited TMS in the new solution highlights. The transmission of data contained in 5 groups with the users in each group. When I log in MOVI as legacy user and find the directory entries, everything works as expected.

The problem I have is this - I created a new group and imported my Active Directory users. I can connect to MOVI as a user of Active Directory however when I try and search for users/end points in MOVI nothing appears.

I checked for the provisioning directory ticks next to all my other access control entries in the phone book.

    All the world and ideas?

    Thank you

    Stem

    Hi Rod

The first thing that comes to mind is the configuration information. If you have created a new group you also assigned to this group a provisioning model right? This model is different from other groups? Because other users directories work what is the difference between these users and the users AD?

Users of AD have the configuration of the directory [email protected] / * /?

  • Tandberg profile 52 TMS device added

    Friends,

I have a challenge by adding Tandberg profile 52 double at TMS and get the error "object reference not set to an instance of an object".

    TMS is running on 13.X

    Profiel is on Tc3.1.1

but we have the same combination of features added in TMS already.

    Thank you

I saw this stack trace once before, and that's when you try to add a system that had been previously recorded and then deleted (not purged). Could you take a look and see if anyone tried to pre-register to MSDS?

And as Manu says: as soon as you migrated to TMSPE, consider upgrading to TMS 14.1.1 where we have improved the error handling when adding systems.

    Kind regards

  • TMS - PE - video address field empty on the devices page

    Publient1:

We have recently upgraded to TMS - PE with TMS 13.2.1

We are trying to monitor the users of systems > Provisioning > devices.

We do not see the configured users and the corresponding times. But most of the entries is seen with address field of empty video - so we are not able to track the user who has been implemented.

    Issue2:

When we delete an entry by Internet explorer, the list is not updated until the temporary internet files are deleted. [(c'est à dire) the deleted entry will appear]

Chrome or Firefox, this behavior is not seen

As it is right now, the option delete could temporarily short questions set for when the service TMSPE solves devices to users. The TMSPE server would lead to continuous errors if he tries to resolve a device a user and the user no longer exists. There is a default open on this issue:CSCue38077

  • VCS v8.6.1 will work with TMS v13.2.2?

    Hello

I want to update the version of the software 8.6.1 the VCS C and E, but don't want to touch the TMS again.

V8.6.1 will work with TMS v13.2.2?

    Thank you

If you do not use TMSPE or Agent of TMS so I think it shouldn't matter.

If you have MSD Agent or TMSPE enabled in TMS, then I think you must upgrade to the version the TMSPE support.

VCS 8.7 is released the week next too

  • Downgrade 14.4 to 14.3 TMS

    Hi all

As stated in my previous post, Cisco seem to have withdrawn in favour of TMS upgrade VCS to 14.4, we have a whole bunch of them, whereas makes life very difficult and frustrating.

I've recently upgraded to TMS from 14.2 to 14.4 to relieve another upgrade question, that we have been see in the CODECs of TC relation, but it is still more of a problem.

I suspect it is not simple to 14.3 14.4 decommissioning, but I was wondering if there was a procedure to do this?

    See you soon

    Chris

We run TMS app and tmsng.db on the separate virtual machines, so take us a snapshot of each just before any upgrade and can very quickly return to the previous version if necessary by restoring snapshots.

Only the hassle I have had so far on the odd occasion, we had to do that, was when we had to do the restore, a day or more after the snapshot has been taken, as the AD credentials for the SMT server would be more valid, then first remove it from the domain, reboot, add the back and restart again.

Has worked well in other well. :)

  • TMS low disk space

I wanted to upgrade the TMS and discovered that only 250 MB will be available on drive C. I deleted all files in the directory ~/All users/administrator/Local Settings / Temp and now 1, 31GB is free, but there is always the message in eventvwr that only 8% is free. What else can I delete from the server, for example the old log files?

    Hello

Check if you have any endpoint software or infrastructure in the path of the software. You can find the path to the folder in tms General settings. Remove the packages as appropriate.

Old newspapers can also be deleted. You can set these to be served on a given interval of the tms server maintenance.

You can also access records user, other users connected to the server. People tend to leave the installers on the desktop, etc...

  • Exchange of TMS 3.0.1 & TMS 13.2 Cisco TMS server does not respond. Put an end.

    Hello

I recently upgraded to TMS 13.2 and installed Exchange TMS 3.0.1. Installation and Configuration worked well, but no event is synchronized to MSDS. If I look at the log file, I see the following line:

Cisco TMS Server is not responding. Halting.

It seems that TMS Exchange is not able to communicate with the TMS. Setup worked well, and the TMS user is Super Administrator, so I don't think it's a problem of permission.

I have attached the journal exchange of tms with level Debug of the game.

    Any ideas?

    Hey

Using HTTPS or HTTP to communicate with the SMT server through the TMSXE service?

Also, I would look in the Windows event logs to see if there's something interesting here. Especially check the application + TMSXE the event logs. I Don t want to join here (it's for the TAC) but if you see something that could be linked to the issue, please let us know.

Otherwise, I recommend you get help from TAC on this since it is more appropriate for a deeper repair.
